This time of year has me thinking about home lately, so I thought I would share what home is to me. This is the watercolor house portrait of my parents' small-town Iowa home I created for them earlier this year. . . . . #home #smalltownlife #watercolorhouse #urbansketchers #urbanpainting #houseart #paintinghouses #sketchartist #yellowhouse #watercolor #watercolorartist #midwestart #midwestartist #iowaart #iowaartist #painting #paintingart #arteveryday #artistsofinstagram https://www.instagram.com/p/CIYrEXrgbq_/?igshid=kxacvzt8wip4

Study piece with Jean M. Weiner. My first instructed watercolor piece. Jean is a fantastic instructor; highly recommend attending any of her classes!

Time Fire. This was the intended purpose from an earlier sketch. Mostly satisfied with the results, and learned much about paint quality on this one. Wouldn’t mind a do-over with better paints!!!! These paints are way too glossy...

Working with layers in Sketchbook Pro, I wanted to change his pose. But after getting frustrated with trying to create hands, I decided he needed pot holders.

The Beaster Bunny!!! Feeling my way through Sketchbook Pro for the first time, this had its beginnings as a terrible, TERRIBLE sketch, and while its not great, it definitely spurred me to learn more!

Bob Ross definitely had an impact on how I approach a painting! As a kid, I would watch him often. I decided to give it a shot. Honestly went into this painting fully expecting a failure, but this is what I had in front of me after about an hour. This is no Bob Ross, but I am looking forward to trying it again with a little more time!
