finally dragged eirn prime through onslaught. yeah you read that right. what can i say, i like to take my time figuring out what she's going to do.

but also just. thinking about how deeply unpleasant she'd find being a saboteur. certain of my ocs would revel in it but eirn, eirn hates politicking an backstabbing and lying and plotting. she hated it enough when all she had to deal with (when all she did) was among sith who were all nominally on the same side. if she must be a traitor, she'd rather be honest about it. declare her allegiances publicly, come what may.

also realtalk her terrible husband would hate her even more for being a saboteur, i think, than just refusing to go back (or even switching teams). not just because she'd be betraying the empire, but doing so while lying to everyone, him included, about where her loyalties lie. letting sith, and imperials, believe she is on their side, while selling them out to the republic.

(and then he'd later think angrily about how badly this would all reflect on him - and all of the imperials on odessen. because he would be tarred with the same brush, ofc - would never be trusted again by his beloved empire, and probably viewed just as much as a traitor. how could he not have known, she was his wife, sith or no. etc. you get the idea.)

the downside to acina being dead ofc is that emperor grandpa keeps on breathing, but allying with the empire on iokath was always out of the question, terrible husband or no.

part of me kind of whats to do new-divergent-canon ossus/onwards fic, but effort. but i also have a plotbnnuy for nathema/fa2 post unification too. and unending levels of laziness. we'll see i guess.

lmfao this is the thanks you get if you save ziliss (boss 2 in pub side secrets, saboteur option). she's got the depth of a puddle and even less to her than colonel whatshisnuts (boss 3), so i kinda doubt we'll see anything of her again.

for some unhinged reason though the game counts saving her as a light side action and im just. really biosword. really. betraying the republic and saving the life of a very obnoxious sith and sending her back to the empire is light sided. okay. sure. why am i even surprised by this shit any more

i've also been thinking about post kotfetet appocanon and. i think the defection au is back in au status and im just going to. authorial fiat that the alliance keeps its post-iokath/unification relationship with the republic, building up to potentially joining after the events of onslaught.

quinn would still fuck off to the empire around inflection point time, and eirn would still be a sad sack about it, but. odessen is her home. its where her freinds and family are. it's where her freedom is.

(i have hc that there's probably like. a settlement that's been building up over the years that we just conviniently never see ingame where eirn has like. an apartment she's never done anything with bc she was living out of her ship like a gremlin. but maybe quinn fucking off would be the catalyst for her to finally. stop wallowing in said ship's imperial mood lighting and make herself an actual home.)

eirn probably wouldn't involve herself at ossus (other than to probably reunite with jaesa; aemilia was the pub side representative for fa1/sor, so she and j are acquainted, and amy would absolutely drag eirn to ossus for a reunion once the dust is settled). but i think she would probably be bored enough to involve herself with onderon onwards. though any padawan menacing would be accidental. mostly. she'd still volunteer for malgus menacing duty though, and leave the mandalorian bullshit for the mandos to deal with (at least as far a pre-lots stuff goes).

not that it would ever happen but like. i think that if i was ever going to design a star war crpg/similar, i would. not fall into the trap shit usually does of making ls/ds alignment a good person/bad person measure. partially because a lot of that stuff falls under perspective anyway (case and point, swtor's incredibly questionable ls/ds apportionment) but also because like. i think it would be both more accurate and interesting if you had ls/ds mechanics tied to the decision making process rather than the decision itself.

to elaborate: the dark side of the force is portrayed even in the eu as being the side which is driven by emotion and impulse, whether for good or ill. losing your rag and punching someone would fall under that not bc punching people bad, but because giving in to your emotional impulse to punch them is. ofc, this is much harder to gamify just bc gamers hate words and it's easier just to give +5 ds points for every act of violence than it is to interrogate the player at every juncture as to why they did shit. doing things, even 'good' things, impulsively or emotionally is not the ls ideal - but neither, ofc, is total emotional detachment.
