Create looms? How does that works — [Words caught in her throat, Rose has to listen to the rest of it. Well she is certainly expecting a different kind of story. Not to mention, tends to forget his alien, in times like this, where he's certainly more human than she's ever seen. Why she was expecting normal, well, still has to figure it out.]
A granddaughter [ Lines present on her face and its a frown what twists her features. A family. It's all too new to her, thought she was unique from him, and then again - nine hundred years do have a story worth telling.
All in all, it might have been too much, and she's more shocked than upset. Rose had asked — pushed to begin with.]
You left when it all — burnt?

Probably. [he shrugs, a non-committal gesture]
We didn’t have that sort of girlfriend, boyfriend thing you got goin’ on here. When they think that the time is right, our people just sort of… agreed to create Looms. I got mine, agreed to it, an’ had a little family. My own house an’ everythin’. Never thought much about it until I had to leave my planet an’ I took my granddaughter with me.
[The Doctor is suddenly aware of how weird must it all sound to her. She is literally worlds and millennias away from even the remnants of his planet. He’s afraid he might just scared her off completely…
Oh, imagine her mother’s reaction.
And he doesn’t even know why he’s telling her all this, all of a sudden.]

"No problem, glad ya made it in time" She can't hide the bright smile that adorns her face and its only enhanced by the wriggling infant that drags her eyes to a pair of shiny boxes. Rose takes the time to give her friend a friendly and welcoming hug, hectic as the situation can be, any extra help is more than welcomed and she can't really expect less from Emma.
"Oh, that's alright, we can save him a piece of cake, right sweetie?"The girl in her arms is still absent from whatever point her mother tries to make, should have know better to show the birthday girl a couple of glittery presents.
"Well I still need to finish setting the yard up, got a couple balloons laying 'round — think ya could help me with that?"
The brunette visible on the other side of the door appears slightly ruffled; trying her best to balance two giant, brightly-wrapped parcels, her handbag, and a conspicuous, unmarked brown paper bag that might just have a present for the adults tucked inside. ‘Hey! Sorry, I would’ve been here sooner—traffic was hell.”
She crosses the threshold, pausing only to offer the wee guest of honor a kiss atop her head—and one quick peck for Rosie on the cheek. “S’just me m’afriad. Liam had to work—top one’s from him. What d’you need help with?”

"I'm sure we will" She's pushed, rushed by one of the creatures that holds their chains and she can only respond with an annoyed huff before she takes the time to rearrange herself " Was I really that mean? I didn't know they could get offended so easily. Aren't aliens 'posed to be more civilized an' peaceful than humans? It was a mistake!" She can't scream, but wishes bloody well she could, still, she makes sure her statement comes loud enough for their captors to hear, and from then she'll leave it to luck.
"Do ya 'ave any idea of where they're taking us? Ya should try an' speak to them, where's the troublesome babbling when ya need it?"
"I don’t think my gob got us into this mess. You did call them savages," the Doctor teased. "Though it probably didn’t help when I agreed with you… Hm…" The Doctor shuffled along with Rose, bent slightly backwards as they moved. Being this close to her was new and different, feeling her breath against his ear as she whispered. "Cats in wimples. Don’t remind me," he shuddered. A quick glance around, looking to their surrounding captors. One walking behind them looked back and the Doctor just stared him down. "We’ll get out of this, Rose."

"That'd be really nice, it could help to hear yar voice! I'm sure he'd wake up just to correct you" [ She can allow herself to laugh, just this once. Hope never hurt anyone before, did it?]
[A nod, and she recollects herself again.] "Yeah, I'm really sorry. I've left all the hard work to you two. I promise —
— I'll get back in the office soon. I'm sure he'll be okay in no time."
"Y’think so? I found a new book he might like—thought I’d read it to him…"

[There’s a tired, but somewhat relieved sigh at the change in subject.]
"Everything’s good, yeah. We just miss you…both of you."
