I'm trying to collect and compile a list of transfeminine works and reviews or discussions of said works. I've found there to be very little discussion or consensus around these works, and very little attention on them overall. I want to do what I can to change that. Please if you would on the notes of this post or in my inbox, mention any transfeminist literature you've heard of and what you've heard about it. if you've read it, please give me your thoughts on the work as well, but don't be ashamed if you haven't been able to read something or finish it, I'd rather have some information than none at all. My current goal is to aggregate works which can be shown and recommended to others as core to understanding trans feminism. Any works welcome but I am especially interested in what you found beneficial about them and what audience you would recommend them to. I'm looking for personal thoughts and experiences, not other aggregates that lack context. Thank you I'll start by sharing a few works I've read and found insightful or seen discussed positively myself. Please do provide your own thoughts on the works mentioned as well. I really hate the "dude" conversation cuz like it's literally such a nothingburger in and of itself but it is a great example of the ways that people--even many tme lgbt ppl--are willing to treat trans women at the drop of a hat, but then any time it gets used as an example, it's the only thing TME ppl wanna address cuz, well, the nature of micro aggressions is that they're often plausibly deniable, so then they go and say "NUH UH" and we write three paragraphs explaining "YEAH UH" and then the whole fucking thing gets derailed into this stupid bullshit that just ends up with us being the butt of the joke anyway, like the bro/dude/man shit is to the '20s as "did you just assume my gender" shit was to the '10s

yeah transfem rep in the media is fucking GARBAGE...I hate hearing my gf telling me she barely feels visible, even with refreshing characters like Bridget (who she feels she cannot relate to cuz Bridget is more passing compared to her)

I get annoyed when people say trans girls get all the rep but one day I scrolled through the transgender woman character media rep out of curiosity and like, while there were a lot of characters, HALF OF THEM were caricatures or harmful stereotypes. some were headcanons if I remember because creators are too pussy to make trans women characters actually come across as normal nuanced people and not lean to hard into dangerous caricature or passing and pristine and skinny cis passing (in this case, this one is rather rare and uncommon compared to the transmisognistic caricature)

Kat Blaque said this in "Why I Said NO To Appearing on Jubilee Media" and it hit me like a sack of bricks. Hit in a "fuck, how did I not notice that?" kind of way. It's so blunt and, as a trans man, sickening to think about, but it makes a lot of sense. Especially considering that White women have historically been the only ones with womanhood, especially womanhood worth "protecting."
