"Why is my food burnt even though I put it in for the correct amount of time?"
Every oven is different, so every cooking experience will vary from person to person
When using a new oven, you will need to experiment. Check for hotspots; which are places in your oven that are hotter than the rest. Your oven may run hot or cold, so you must adjust cooking times. Your oven may even be slanted, causing uneven tops on food.
Be sure to experiment and work with your oven for the best-tasting food!

"Is it 'macarons' or 'macaroons'?"
Despite the debate on what this dessert is called, macaroons and macrons are completely different foods!
Macarons (mack-a-rohn) are from Italy and made their way to France in 1533 by Queen Catherine de' Medici when she married King Henry II. Macarons are recognized by their sandwich-like shape consisting of two fragile shells, held together by jam, ganache, or frosting. - Source
Macaroons (mack-a-roon) are also from Italy, inspired by a French dessert that monks brought back in the late 1800s. As time progressed, Jewish Italians and Europeans soon came to love this dessert, due to its lack of flour, making it edible over Passover. The actual dessert is a drop cookie made with coconut. Some bakeries may add nuts or dry fruit, or even drizzle them with chocolate.
