When will it end

Do you remember the first time we met? Would it shock you to hear that I do? The Ether. A vast white void. Deadlands for immortals. Some wrongfully assume it empty and completely silent. Instead, it's full of souls. So many souls. All of them shouting and screaming. You were screaming too. A white void made of the anguished cries of beings that were not made to die. And a mortal walks right in.

Heh. Sounds like a lame joke, doesn't it? I walked in hoping to find my own death, and walked away with you in tow. You were still so angry and bitter. No one even blames you. Centeries spend without the ability to feel anything. It detaches you from the world around you. Your soul was in tatters but still holding on. If you weren't a god it would have killed you on it's own. But now, all these centuries later...

Now I'm facing that which I've prayed for relentlessly for eons. I thought the fear had left me long ago. Maybe that is proof of your influence in my life. That I believe I have something to live for again. Or maybe living with purpose is what really scares me. Im tired. Im broken and battered and scarred. I want to rest. I want to go home. Baldur and a rough Nanna concept.

I have looked up Nanna in hopes I can find something I can go off on, and I found ones where she has a fabric over her head. I liked this idea but maybe I’ll change it, I just feel like it makes her stand out. Yes, she does look miserable and sad but really that’s her resting face lol.

And I totally think you're right, now that I read your perspective on this I'm quite amazed

I do think there are some things that just don't match, but at this point I think it's all about the game and the novel not matching here and there (I love your perspective on this once again)

First, we don't get to see Nanna. Nanna doesn't get mentioned AT ALL... Yes, Nanna died right after Baldur died but that would've caused a huge fuss - Baldur and Nanna being the next rulers of Asgard - so I'm surprised no one talked about her death.

Second, Forseti doesn't seem bothered by Kratos' actions - him killing baldur - which is weird, cause, as the god of justice you should be defending your own father UNLESS Forseti had a terrible, and I mean terrible, relationship with his own dad, taking him to a sorta Freya/Baldur situation.

Which, I think could be possible, but kinda leaves me skeptical cause wouldn't he be trying to get justice for his mom at least? She was heartbroken, but she wasn't ill or cursed, so I'm hoping she wasn't just as bad as her husband LOL

It's just an opinion of mine, I do think yours is totally valid and I agree with it🫶

I don't know if my reasoning makes sense but I hope you understand what I mean 😭

P.s. Baldur says "feasting, drinking, women... It's all gone!" In helheim... So he either wasn't with nanna or he was a cheater 😭

This page is so heartbreaking in multiple ways, this is trauma in a page

First, baldur mentions he tried to unalive himself A HUNDRED AND TWENTY NINE TIMES. A HUNDRED?? AND TWENTY NINE TIMES??? 129?? That is a LOT. The number isn't even the main thing, the concept of him trying SO HARD to get rid of his curse, even if that means giving his life away, is so heartbreaking and explains how much he suffered when he was cursed.

Second, he mentions how badly the presence of Freya affects him on a daily basis. Whether he's around her or not, he feels TORMENTED by her. The way you could see his hatred face the moment he realized Freya was there with Kratos and Atreus; that's just insane. Imagine not being able to stand a person - especially your own mom, the woman who gave birth to you - to the point you want to die just to not feel their presence on your body or your soul.

That is CRAZY.

Third, Baldur implies he would LOVE to become a father.

At first when you read the sentence you think it's just a way to remind her of how badly she affected him, but when you read it the second time you actually realize he implies it. Baldur would love having a child of his own, but ONCE AGAIN the curse his own mom gave him stops him from following this dream of his. This is definitely the most heartbreaking part, because (in my head, this is not in the book or anything) I feel like baldur would want to take care of his kid the OPPOSITE way baldur's parents took care of him. Freya traumatized him and basically gave him a free pass to dangerous forms of insanity, and Odin took advantage of it and made Baldur his little puppet.

Give this man a second to breathe.
