a style study of volume 40’s back cover w hirugami :>
#haikyuu!!#haikyuu#haikyu#hirugami sachirou#kame arts#some interesting things to note abt furudate’s style:#it’s very blocky esp w faces. he seems to dislike accentuating cheekbones and tends to just cube the heads esp in sideviews#it works though since he’s got a good grasp on depth#also I never realized he prefers not using screen tones for shadows unless it’s Very Important scenes#which is something he probably learned from toriyama lol#he also loves emphasizing the folds in clothes which is a hard thing to emulate#his necks are also notably long#i do like how he draws eyes particular in extreme angles#not necessarily the shape or iris but just how he makes them pop and have so much depth
