eustace is abused by his father emotionally and physicaly (the physical part is more implied, but it's strongly implied that his dad also burns him. like with flames, but also in every scene that he & his father are in, his dad calls him useless, worthless and stupid). he graduated top of his school because his father paid the school to ALWAYS give him good grades, so he was never told that he was wrong, even though he enjoys learning. he thinks hes a genius because of this which leads to him getting mocked constantly. when his dad approaches him in a scene eustace flinches away from him (part of the physical abuse implication), i think theres maybe one character in the game thats consistently kind to him, and she was only working with him so that she could take down his dad (they are close, but still, that would fuck him up)

i doubt hes ever been hugged in his life. or at least not for a long time. one hug or just like any sort of positive physical touch would do SO much for him genuinely

I’m working on a full picture for the Splatoon 10th Anniversary but I’m positive it’s going to be far later than the anniversary. In the meantime, here’s a sneak peek of it! :) Splatoon has been an incredibly infuential series for me so I want to do it justice. Oh and these are original characters by the way.
