Answer: No, calcium and iron shouldn’t be taken at the same time. The ASMBS recommends taking calcium and iron 2 hours apart to maximize absorption. Calcium and iron work against each other when taken at the same time which results in decreased absorption. Be leery of products on the market that contain both iron and calcium in the same product.
