I’ve been sitting on posting this for a while because I thought I’d have more to say, but I actually don’t! So, I’m pretty much done here. I’ve been done for quite some time and have kind of mostly been lurking around out of fear of disappointing people, but the reality of it all is that I’m getting old (26 in March, whoof), I feel like I can’t play the types of characters I really want to, and it’s just.. Not as satisfying as it used to be. I question if it ever really was!

I’m not saying I’m not going to be RPing at all or that I’m not RPing around Tumblr, I’m just bouncing out of this pocket of the community because time only moves forward and I have a lot of complicated feelings. Most of them regarding things related to young members of the community. I’ve talked many times about how I don’t like the idea of them getting too comfortable with older people online or thinking that other individuals are safe just because one or two people they met previously are.

Speaking on this and not acting upon it would be all kinds of chaotic.

I’m also busy! Life is finally starting to pick up and point itself in the direction I want it to for the first time in over five years! I’m back in college! I have a job I like! I’m about to move for the millionth time! So I can’t give this community the attention I used to give it. I’m pretty much exclusively RPing on Discord in a private server I’ve been part of for a bit over a year and it’s a beautiful time!

If anyone around here is still interested in RP stuff with me (there still are people here I’d love to continue RPing with), I wouldn’t mind putting a server together or doing shit on Kik or whatever! I’m also thinking about migrating to the lit/para side of RP because mun ages tend to skew up over there and I really want to do things that are more plot-driven now that I’ve gotten a taste of that back in my life again.

I’m probably going to keep my blogs up with something saying that they’re archived when I have the energy to do so, but @psychometrick is definitely being turned into a lit blog.

Beyond that, it’s been real. My time here has had way more downs than it has had ups, but I did thoroughly enjoy and appreciate every up I had!

//*squats* I’ve been so busy with work that the only RP stuff I can keep up with is this exclusive server that I’m in. I didn’t mean to abandon my blogs, but I’m also not sure of what to do with them anymore now that I’ve tasted what it’s like to have plotlines and an overarching narrative again.

all i’ve been lately is busy! my father flew over here to meet yaelis and rook for the first time. it went better than i ever imagined it could. i can’t say he likes rook, but he does respect him?

fortunately, he loves yaelis and refused to put him down! even when we went out to eat! even when my family in astoria flew down! even when my mother threatened him physically!

that last part was as interesting as it was frightening because my mother makes good on threats and i hadn’t seen both of my biological parents in the same room in years.

i’ve seen so little of my father growing up that i’ve only ever seen him as an authoritative businessman. watching him playing around with yaelis and (literally, because we are heliokinetics) glow was a strange experience.

man the crazy thing about babies is that like, some people would think that reading a baby a book about farm animals is teaching them about farm animals, but really it’s teaching them about the concept of a book and how there’s new information on each page of a single object, but really, beyond that, it’s teaching them how language works, and beyond that it’s really actually teaching them about human interaction, and really really it’s them learning about existing in a three-dimensional space and how they can navigate that space, but actually, above all it is teaching them that mama loves them.

i can always tell when it’s been a while since i’ve last done anything with my phone because autocorrect tries to capitalize everything. capitalization breaks my brand of looking calm and like i have everything together.

i’m finally back in santa monica! rook’s done with this year’s conventions! yaelis is eating out of a high chair! 

i’ve probably already shared this last one a while ago, but i’m still excited.

here’s what you all are really here for, the yaelis updates:

he’s going to be four months old in thirteen days.

his hands are no longer a threat to him! in fact, he’s figured out how to use them and grab everything in sight! that includes my hair!

he sleeps through most of the night and only wakes up when he needs company or a diaper change.

yaelis can roll from his tummy to his back and vice versa.

the control he has over his head and neck is greatly improved. he can hold himself up with minimal wiggling.

he recognizes people on the phone and kicks his feet when he hears someone he knows.

his communication skills are improving, meaning all the sounds he makes are becoming more specific and easier to identify. my favourite noise is the one he makes when silas comes into the room.

speaking of! yes, my ancient dog is still alive. silas adores yaelis and is constantly checking on him, no matter what time it is. my mother says he was the same way when i was a baby and has retained his taste for tiny toes.

i’ve been so absent lately! i apologize for disappearing without a word, i understand that some of you may have been worried, but! everything is fine. maybe even better than fine

i was on a heavy downswing with rook traveling for tech conventions that he suggested i go home to astoria and he’d swing by there between cons. it’s been doing a lot of good for me and has given yaelis the chance to get to know more of his family.

having him with me in my old room feels weird. it’s like he’s out of place because living it home feels like it was ages ago rather than a bit over two years ago.
