I thought I lost this picture, until this week, when my mom was digging through a stack of photos, for my Uncle Brad's funeral. This was the Christmas Carol production with Pleasanton Civic Arts, Fall 2004, at the Amador Theater, when I played Jacob Marely. As an actor, at Age 19, this was huge for me. I was the oldest teen in the cast, not originally cast as Jacob Marley, just a character in the background here and there. All the adult roles were cast with adults above age 25. The Original Marely dipped out with in the first 2 weeks of rehearsal, and the director approached me and asked me to be Marley. The best part of our first rehearsal for the Scrooge and Marely scene, as I was playing Marley all foreboding and low tone ghostly, my director stopped the rehearsal, and gave me the best direction any director ever gave me... "Barry, I want you to take all the Darth Vader you are putting into Marely, and be the Emperor, with Herman Munster's Laugh." My Cousin Dean took me on a really nice 20-30 min hike through the snow to see the Ice Caves up in Chathum Michigan. We came on a week day, and practically had the whole trail to ourselves. NOW HOW IS THAT FOR A SWEAT STAIN! I hate work outs, not because of the work and physical exhaustion, just because my Scrambled ADD brain struggles to find them mentally stimulating. But, It's time I remotivated myself to get back in shape. I did 1 hour of cardio tonight, and, managed to also enjoy it, gotta keep this train on track! Whelp, another layover in Chicago on the way to the Folks in Greenbay, W.I. for better or worse, many things are on the list for why I wanted this trip 1. Didn't see my folks at all for Thanks Giving, or Christmas, worked through the whole season. Worked my regular job, and a premium role 5 to 7 days a week, so, that money helped pay for things like my deviated septume surgery. 2. Dad is on the final phase of recovering from a 2nd knee surgery, here to help out around the house. 3. Time off for mental and spiritual health. 4. Time to work out, and create a routine to get into better shape. 5. My Mom's Oldest brother, of 4 brothers, passed away New Year's Day, here in Wisconsion, and a majority of the rest of the Family all lives here to. Here to be with family to mourn the tragic loss of my Uncle Brad. 6. Just to be surrounded by family, my life in CA is a blessing, but so is my family here in Wisconsion, and Michigan, and every member of my family helps me reset, and recharge my soul, and mental outlook on life. Hey KARENS, MISS informed parents and little kids everywhere, he has a name. His real name is officially revealed during the 2nd season of THE MANDOLIRIAN. Before that, in scripts, and through the dialogue of other characters, and even in the subtitles if the show, and, in previous merchandise, he was either called "the kid" or more commonly "The Child." He was never officially given that other name. Grogu (GROW-GOOOO) is a baby, a 50 year old baby for his species, but, you can refer to him as Baby Grogu. Yoda is an old man, we never have seen stories of Yoda before he was at least 800 years old. There is no Yoda as anything other than "Old Man Yoda" or just YODA. Even the Official toys since the 2nd season of the show are here to help you remember his name! TAAAA-DAAAA! Just because you see another child Wookie doesn't mean you call it "Baby Chewbacca." Just because you see a human baby boy Jedi doesn't mean you call it "Baby Luke Skywalker." Are we going to call baby Ewoks "Baby Wickets." Baby of "Yoda's Species" is your only other option.
