13. Eines deiner Lieblingslieder aus den Achtzigern

Na ja, wenn du schon meine Meinung zu klassischer Musik hören möchtest, dann nehme mir die Freiheit, die 80s als 1680er zu interpretieren, und wähle Come away, fellow sailors von Henry Purcell aus seiner Kammeroper Dido and Aeneas (<- sehr coole Adaption, die Bühnen- und Kammeroper meiner Meinung nach sehr gut kombiniert). Eigentlich ist die Oper ernst und ziemlich traurig, aber Purcell dachte sich wohl zwischendurch, "And now let's do a silly one!" und komponierte Come away, fellow sailors und das eine Stück, das nur aus gesungenem Lachen besteht und "Ho ho ho!" heißt.

20. Ein Lied, das für dich viele Bedeutungen hat

Ich habe doch mehr als gedacht geredet.

Bleiben wir doch einfach mal bei klassischer Musik und bei meinem Boy HP. She loves and she confesses too ist so ein banger Stück und ich finde es total spannend, auf welche extremst unterschiedliche Weise man den Text interpretieren kann. (Vielleicht sagt die Musik aber auch andere Dinge als der Text aus. Ich kann keine Musiktheorie.)

Bei der Grundidee des Lieds stimme ich dem verlinkten Video zu, es geht um unerwiderte Liebe. Für mich geht es dann aber damit weiter, dass das lyrische Ich seine Frustration gegenüber seinen Gefühlen ausdrückt, dass sie es so übermannen, obwohl sie keine Früchte tragen können ("Enter the town which thou hast won"), und der Liebe, die es nun als etwas Negativ ansieht ("Noisy nothing, stalking shade [...] But I shall find out counter charms, / Thy airy devilship to remove"), deshalb entsagt ("Sure I shall rid myself of thee") und diesen Kampf allein und im Geheimen austragen will ("By the night’s obscurity, / And obscurer secrecy").

Auf der anderen Seite kann ich das Lied aber auch auf eine ganz andere, sehr extreme Weise interpretieren. Die stammt daher, dass, als ich meinem Freund das verlinkte Video gezeigt habe, weil ich so berührt von diesem Lied und der Stimme und dem Ausdruck des Sängers war, er aus Spaß gefragt hat, ob mein Boy HP ein "Purcel" war - also ein Incel mit Namen Purcell. Das hat mir dann die Augen geöffnet für diese andere Interpretation: Das lyrische Ich entschließt sich, seinem Kummer Luft zu machen und wenn er seine Geliebte nicht haben kann, dann wird sie niemand anders haben, denn er tötet sie.

In meiner ersten Interpretation sind die "she" und das "thee" im Text zwei verschiedene Adressaten - die Geliebte und die Liebe selbst; in dieser Interpretation wird diese Unterscheidung nicht gemacht, hier wird beides mal die Geliebte angesprochen.

"The happy work’s entirely done" - Nachdem es einen Korb bekommen hat, gibt für das lyrische Ich es keine friedliche und freundliche Lösung mehr.

"Remains there still an enemy? / Bold Honour stands up in the gate, / And would yet capitulate" - Das lyrische Ich sieht seine Geliebte nun als Feindin an. Sein letztes Quäntchen Ehre versucht es von seinem Plan abzuhalten, doch am Ende muss es kapitulieren.

"And shall this phantom me oppose?", "By what witchcraft wert thou made", "Thy airy devilship to remove" - Hier wird die Geliebte nochmals als Feindin dargestellt.

"Sure I shall rid myself of thee / By the night’s obscurity, / And obscurer secrecy" - Hier spricht das lyrische Ich darüber, wie es die Leiche seiner Geliebten im Schutze der Nacht fortschaffen will.

Jetzt wird es aber interessant. Diese Interpretation hat zwei Enden, je nach dem, wo man die folgenden Verse im zeitlichen Ablauf der Ereignisse, die ich gerade beschrieben habe, einordnet.

"Unlike to ev’ry other spright / Thou attempt’st not men to affright / Nor appear’st but in the light." - Die Geliebte erscheint nur bei Tageslicht. Sie ist kein Geist, also ist sie nicht tot. Hat das lyrische Ich sie noch nicht getötet? Oder waren alle Verse vorher nur seine Fantasie und es wird seine Geliebte gar nicht töten? Wer weiß ...

Has anyone here seen this Game Over dialogue before?

I found it in the game files a couple of months ago, but I haven't seen any documentation of it, so I assumed it was unused. But then, someone on Discord confirmed with me that it's actually in the game!

The only way I've seen to get it is if you run out of penalties on the final evidence presentation (the lucky charm). Otherwise, you get the normal Game Over dialogue.

12. A song from your preteen years

I genuinely can't think of one. Like in all honesty. I feel like my mind is a bit blank when it comes to childhood memories, so I will go with a song from my early teenage years - I was really into Twenty One Pilots! I'll go with Message Man. Listening back to it now, the whole Blurryface album slaps, I should listen to it again sometime.

16. One of your favorite classical songs

That one's tough because there isn't really a piece in my classical playlist that I don't consider a banger and my Classical Song on Loop changes relatively often but I think I'll go with Bach's Eilt, ihr angefochtnen Seelen from the St John Passion. I've seen it performed live twice now and the parts where the solist and the orchestra go quiet and only the choir gently sings, "Wohin?" (Where to?) are always sooooooo good.

11. A song that you never get tired of

Oh no, I am talking about classical music again because my first thought was genuinely Largo al factotum from The Barber of Seville sung by Florian Sempey. I don't think it ever came up in my playlist and made me go, "Urgh, not this again..." It just always cheers me up and I love how silly Sempey can sound while also pulling All That off. This recording of it is even sillier!

(The only thing that really bothers me about this performance is how the cameraperson is NOT playing along at the beginning. Like come on!)

For some reason, I have an incredibly specific memory of my dad driving me up the hill by our old house while Viva La Vida by Coldplay played on the radio but it felt like it was just the instrumental part on loop. But yeah. Viva La Vida. It's a timeless masterpiece I think.
