Eight years, roughly, this poem has circled my brain and keeps coming back.
Revenge
Since you mention it, I think I will start that race war. I could’ve swung either way? But now I’m definitely spending the next 4 years converting your daughters to lesbianism; I’m gonna eat all your guns. Swallow them lock stock and barrel and spit bullet casings onto the dinner table; I’ll give birth to an army of mixed-race babies. With fathers from every continent and genders to outnumber the stars, my legion of multiracial babies will be intersectional as fuck and your swastikas will not be enough to save you, because real talk, you didn’t stop the future from coming. You just delayed our coronation. We have the same deviant haircuts we had yesterday; we are still getting gay-married like nobody’s business because it’s still nobody’s business; there’s a Muslim kid in Kansas who has already written the schematic for the robot that will steal your job in manufacturing, and that robot? Will also be gay, so get used to it: we didn’t manifest the mountain by speaking its name, the buildings here are not on your side just because you make them spray-painted accomplices. These walls do not have genders and they all think you suck. Even the earth found common cause with us the way you trample us both, oh yeah: there will be signs, and rainbow-colored drum circles, and folks arguing ideology until even I want to punch them but I won’t, because they’re my family, in that blood-of-the-covenant sense. If you’ve never loved someone like that you cannot outwaltz us, we have all the good dancers anyway. I’ll confess I don’t know if I’m alive right now; I haven’t heard my heart beat in days, I keep holding my breath for the moment the plane goes down and I have to save enough oxygen to get my friends through. But I finally found the argument against suicide and it’s us. We’re the effigies that haunt America’s nights harder the longer they spend burning us, we are scaring the shit out of people by spreading, by refusing to die: what are we but a fire? We know everything we do is so the kids after us will be able to follow something towards safety; what can I call us but lighthouse, of course I’m terrified. Of course I’m a shroud. And of course it’s not fair but rest assured, anxious America, you brought your fists to a glitter fight. This is a taco truck rally and all you have is cole slaw. You cannot deport our minds; we won’t hold funerals for our potential. We have always been what makes America great.

The only way we’re going to get through this new administration is by leaning on each other.

Project Dragon was a game that was in development for 3 years only to be canceled weeks from its announcement and its entire art and development team laid off by the Phoenix Labs. The game (which would have been called 'Everhaven' upon release) was intended to be a multiplayer sandbox rpg taking inspiration from both Minecraft and Breath of the Wild, with an art style similar to that of the Spyro Reignited Trilogy, which some of the team members also worked on along with Crash Bandicoot 4.
According to character design/illustrator Nicolas Kole "Our cancelled project of the last 3 years is officially, truly dead as of today (internal attempts to save it failed), and the embargo on the whole body of portfolio work has been lifted". This means that the only way the game has a chance of resuming development is by raising awareness and spreading the word of it's development. More info from Nicolas Kole and #BringBackProjectDragon Even if you're not interested in the game itself, you can find the concept art, animations, 3D models, music and all other completed pieces of work for the game being shared by the team at either of these links, and I think are worth checking out. Some mounts and NPCs

4 of the 5 playable starter races (5th being human of course)

Done! The website is back up again, with new comics pages on their way in the next few weeks.
Website Down
Hi Folks,
My main website is down, so for the time being I'm redirecting to Tumblr instead! I appreciate your patience as I figure out what's wrong with the main site and get it running again.

Last summer I went on a writing retreat that I had signed myself up for in 2019, and then had delayed ‘cause Covid and what not. I wasn’t anywhere near in the same place going into it than I was when I decided I wanted to do it, and I spent a lot of it stressed about money and being in a packed auditorium with unmasked strangers and my ongoing job search and it was all more complicated and less magical than I expected.
But I was there. And I had invested in this, back in 2019, when I thought it would be a respite from dissertation writing during the summer of 2020, a chance to think about my own stories and who I wanted to be as a writer not just in academia but in the world. So I went to the sessions and I made notes in my notebook until my hand was sore from writing and typed in my room at night and drank tea and ate vegetables and spent as much time outdoors as possible.
They had one of those circular labyrinth paths out on the grounds. I really like those things--I like the intersection of movement, intention, and reflection. And so while other folks were networking or taking yoga classes or chipping away at their memoirs I was walking, trying to pull myself out of the thorns I’d found myself tangled in. I had finished my PhD, but during Covid. I had sent out so many applications. I had gotten back so many “no”s. I needed, desperately, to tell myself “yes”.
I had been working on this script off and on for...I’m not even sure how long. Several years. I had sketches and maps and prep, collections of reference images and inspiration in folders on my laptop, in my Tumblr likes, in organized PDF compilations. But I hadn’t started.
I came back from that workshop and started it.
This is Page 1.
You can read it at basictelepathy.com
...
I want to end the story there, but more life happened. A school finally said “yes” later in the summer and I moved to another state for a teaching job (happy happy news, which nonetheless kept me very busy), and then my printer/scanner, which is a key part of my comics-making process, spent 8 months in the repair shop... but I’m here now, wrapping up page 6 and looking forward to how I can use the break before I start teaching summer classes to get this moving again. I hope you love it--I love it.

I was going through some of my drawing files today, and realized I never shared this one! It was a quick sketch for an rpg one shot--Naidri is a water fey bard who enjoys drowning sailors and eating the people who cross her. I drew this in Clip Studio on my phone in the window between finishing building the character and waiting for the game to start. She was almost killed by goblins, but persevered.

Willow's newest comics are ridiculous(ly good)! Highly recommend.

I have a new comic! The Haunted Skull, an absurdist horror anthology comic! Like a dumb version of The Twilight Zone. Updates with a new story every month. Check it out!

Page 1 pencils from a short comic I did for an upcoming volume of Bikes in Space (due winter 2023)! I am really happy with how the final art for this piece came out, and I always love the chance to play around with shorter stories.
