i'm still thinking about construct anatomy and guns in arms
Tumblr media
and also about that organic to inorganic ratio and the feet
Tumblr media
and would secunit reverse-naruto run when shooting?
Tumblr media
and under the cut is more ramblings I am now up to chapter 9 of network effect:
it mentioned back MUSCLES? how does it have no food requirements low energy requirements and have back MUSCLES? not organic skin covering inorganics, but BACK. MUSCLES??? you are BURNING ENERGY unless all the energy is coming from whatever charges and is being converted into the energy to maintain muscles?
it has to be primarily inorganic but i am reluctantly accepting that the inorganics are covered by lots of layers of skin.
but it still needs to cover up to avoid being identified as a secunit so must also have lots of visible inorganics?
you will pry the idea of warning labels on the guns from my cold dead hands. if it can't remove logos it can't remove warning signs. it is EQUIPMENT and a WEAPON its GOTTA HAVE WARNING SIGNS. my own kneebrace has little warning sign stickers on it about the pinch risk! granted all worn off now but it came with it.
STILL waffling around feet and went for something vaguely humanoid to fit shoes but with inbuilt traction. i think it should have knives in its feet tbh and hhard to work out "not agumented, not prosthetic, not human but can fit in a human shoe".
cannot get the image out of my head of the governor module as a dog shock collar in its brain attaching to old school retro sci fi ports in the neck
speaking of ports they would be colour coded surely for the cubicle and any manual poking about.
storage under the ribs = more panels on the back too for technicians to access internals to get to work?

I've noticed recently that alot of my recent art practice has just been secret math homework. (And that I can infact enjoy said math.)
For example:
Weaving
3D printing stuff for weaving
Figured out the Lamp Language systems (it's base 4 so guess who had to learn about converting bases).
Blender geometry nodes (to make a cable system)
Engineering the neck vertebrae for lamps as I was annoyed they chipped in the model I'm slowly making for the skeleton. (As what I needed the geometry nodes for)
Perspective drawings of building since I learn how to make those more accurate (thank you Architectural draftsman tutorials)
It's not bad It's just weird it's been so concentrated. At makes me wish I didn't have should a bad experience during pre-cal in school as it's kinda fun to see math do stuff. I would be nice to have a better base when I dive back into math

a lot of people(read: degenrates who i loathe) think this sona of mine is a woman for some reason.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
No, it's me, the least female creature on this planet.
I'd explain the several pages of philosophy behind the design, but all this horny misgendering got my anger issues riled up so i won't.

🧹🌸 Happy Feaster! 🌸🧹
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
One of most influential national holidays in Jovia is Feaster, aka "Easter Feast." It is descended from the Christian holiday Easter, though it does not always fall on the same Sunday of the Terran solar calendar. Jovia's Christian minorities (mostly congregants of the Martian Church of Christ or Presbyterians) sometimes celebrate it as a religious holiday, but it has experienced secularization through its association with Spring Cleaning Week.
This week starts on the first Monday of April and is one of two compulsory maintenance weeks in the year for Jovian citizens. It focuses on the cleaning up of green spaces, biosystems, and microgravity farms in your place of residence; either the mega space station Nexus Jovia or one of the settlements on Jupiter’s moons. Jovian citizens are required to fulfill a minimum of 6 hours of maintenance during the first 6 days of the week unless they have a registered exemption, and there is generally a scramble in the week before as signups open and citizens try to get slots in some of the less exhausting or gross jobs. Easter Feast occurs on the final day of the week, and is a welcome break after the toil of the previous 6 days. Many people with family on the Jovian system will travel to see them for Feaster, and Nexus Jovia is at its most crowded during this Spring holiday season.
Perhaps the most important part of Spring Cleaning Week is the rotating out of the microgravity farms. Old crops are harvested on mass and replanted, older livestock are culled and butchered, and the algae and yeast tanks are drained, sanitized, and recultured. This effectively makes Feaster an anomalous early spring harvest festival, but in a place with no natural seasons. Many of the microgravity crop varieties grow much longer (both in length and in time) than their terrestrial counterparts, being unrestrained by gravity, and are continuously harvested from lateral shoots and just under the apical meristem. Crops such as lettuce and Brassicas have exceptionally sturdy, long "canes" and are used to make Easter brooms. While these are technically a tool, most are a symbolic decoration for the holiday and elaborately adorned with ribbons and flowers. Households will often hang them on the door or over windows at their residence, as a representation of their service for the station. Particularly nasty maintenance tasks often give out fancy decorative brooms, molded metal or myla collectables, and other trinkets as a reward to citizens willing to undertake them. These prizes are often prominently displayed by those who receive them, for bragging rights.
Compulsory maintenance weeks have their root in Nexus Jovia's history as a small mining and research space station. Even as its population ballooned into the millions and it expanded to over a hundred kilometers wide, the ethos of the little station has carried forward: the only thing keeping a space station from killing its inhabitants is continual maintenance by its inhabitants. April Maintenance Week's nearness to Easter was originally a coincidence, but after chabbits, (also known as "Easter bunnies," a GMO pet that lays colorful eggs) were introduced and popularized as a space livestock, the two became associated. In modern Jovia, chabbits are a staple livestock prized for their eggs, meat, and manure. For many Jovians, Easter Feast is not complete without whole grilled chabbit at the center of the table.

In case anyone finds it helpful because mobility aids are horrifically expensive and inaccessible…
Tumblr media
And for those people who have access to mobility devices but might benefit from a second chair they can abuse without risking expensive damage…
Erik Kondo has made a website, Open Source Innovations, that details plans for DIY wheelchairs. These wheelchairs can be made from common materials like wood, plastic, and pvc. They are lightweight and can be custom fit to the user allowing from the same degree of movement you would get from a custom chair. And they are durable and easily repairable. (he has been stress testing his latest design by dropping it down stairs, dropping it out of a car, launching it across a driveway, and throwing it off a deck). Its 12lbs and I think he said its was in the $200 ish range for parts.
He also is working on cheap, open source, accessible designs for beach chairs, off road chairs, motorized attachments (think smart drive), and so on. Plus he skateboards in his wheelchair. Cool dude, helpful info, pass it on.

#543 - #544 - #545. As Venipede evolves, its carapace becomes a dull cocoon as its insides liquify, and if anything tries to break it, it'll stab them aggressively until dead. It regains its lustrous carapace after evolving and becomes docile, giving rides to smaller pokémon and humans it meets.
Sponsored by @madsk3tch. Design process under read more.
I had a pretty solid idea for scolipede itself: Make it more buggy, reference centipede anatomy, but keep its horse whimsy. I did many study of centipede faces and anatomy to figure out how to place their antennae and ultimate legs (thats what the final pair of legs that look like antennae on the end of centipedes is named!). I wanted to keep some of the horn shapes, and also have the tail look like a false head like it does in many centipedes.
Tumblr media
The weird eye shape of these guys is referencing the ocelli of centipedes: forming compound eyes. The spikes are actually referencing a milipede instead of a centipede, Desmoxytes purpurosea, who have big pink spikes. The empty spot is meant to look like a little saddle :) and the difference in color is because i think bright green feels more toxic paired with red than the greyish purple the canon one has.
venipede was easy, adapting the canon simplicity and then just adding some centipede anatomy like the antennae below the carapace.
whirlipede however, was pretty annoying. I didnt know what to do with it! i didnt want to just make a wheel but didnt want for it to just look like a venipede curled up. i decided to go the cocoon route: the carapace is protecting the goo inside. centipede dont go through cocoon phases but shhh. made it dull to keep its unique color from the rest of the line that the canon one has.
