In a new series, created by and starring Emmy Award winning writer Mark Gatiss, Gatiss plays Gabriel Book, a bookshop owner and investigator, who works in tandem with his childhood best friend and wife Trottie (Polly Walker), Book and Trottie run his shop and mystery solving enterprise in parallel as he leads a double-life. He is at-once allied to the police and must keep them at a distance as he hides his life as a gay man in post-war London.
When Book and Trottie take in Jack (Connor Finch) to assist in the shop and on the cases, it seems altruistic, another chance for a young offender. It becomes clear, however, that Jack's hiring wasn't quite as random as it first appeared…
Created and starring Mark Gatiss and produced by Eagle Eye Drama for U&Alibi.
Bookish starts in July on U&alibi, and has already been confirmed to return for a second series next year.
Tickets on sale Tue 10 Jun to BFI Patrons from 11:00, BFI Members from 12:00 and on general sale from 16:00.
Tickets £17, concs £14 (Members pay £2.50 less).

Top 5 Steve quotes please! :) 谢谢
Alright sweet, it's even not Steve character quotes. So, thanks vm for asking (and using some mandarin lol)! Top 5 Steve Pemberton quotes would be:
1. I live to slay another day. 💅
Yas queen.💅 He extraordinary in playing women and I'm glad to hear this. Go on then, we do want more.
2. We groomed him. 👶
Yea yea, made me smile first time I've heard it in the podcast. I saw some of you being discussing this again. It's like, always the definition of their relationship in my mind.
3. She is, for people who don't know, what I called a 'vegician'. 😅
As in 'v*gina magician'. I love how crazy this sentence sounds.
4. Big yellow digger!!💡
This one most of you won't know. It's a rare goofy moment of him. It's from the catchphrase show he went alone, and the correct answer was 'gold digger'.
5. Jizz? 🫣
Well, you all know this one.
