The monochromatic Blue Note records album covers communicated a singular vibe that no one has ever quite replicated.
Generally photographed by label co-founder Francis Wolff and designed by Reid Miles. Prior to Miles' arrival, designer John Hermansader had established a stark black and white design aesthetic, but it was Miles who began pushing design elements and adding the monochromatic colors that elevated them.
