My friend Brad has been contributing mixes to DAZED digital. Here’s his second mix “Strings”

The long, resonant vibration of strings has been a constant throughout the history of music and, therefore, has been integral to the creation of experimental, avant-garde works as well. Just like the piano, stringed instruments have been modified, repurposed, and co-opted to create a stunning variety of sounds — from the ancient harps and droning tamburas of Mesopotamia to the violins and cellos of Renaissance chamber music. Tapping into this rich tradition, the sustained, harmonically complex tones of stringed instruments provide a gorgeous palette for the modern underground musicians represented here. —Brad Barry

Magnifique invitation au voyage dans le sud de la France avec le photographe Cédric Gerbehaye. Il a réalisé de très belles images dans la ville de Sète, notamment le portrait sublime de l’homme tatoué, très proche du dessin.

This year, Cédric Gerbehaye spent December and January photographing in Sète, France, the sixth photographer to do so as part of an artist-in-residency program. As part of the residency, Gerbahaye’s photographs will be featured in the festival ImageSingulières, held in Sète from May 8th to 26th. The work will also be published in May by Le Bec en l’Air, in a book titled “Sète #13,” which will include an essay by Christian Caujolle, the founder and artistic director of Agence VU.Click here for a look.: http://nyr.kr/17tIvL6

Leur reprise de "Get Lucky" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=T5Cp55MvX54#!) de Daft Punk a, en l'espace de 24h, complètement envahie le Web, (il faut dire que c'est carrément mieux que l'original) et fait d'eux par la même occasion le nouveau groupe à suivre..

Leur dernier album - If you leave-  est actuellement en streaming sur Rolling Stone. L'album commence par un titre qui s'appelle Winter. Ce groupe tombe définitivement à pique.. :)

A la recherche de sons, je suis tombée par hasard sur les dessins mélancoliques de Marynn (http://marynn-up.blogspot.fr/), une étudiante de 22 ans surdouée, qui commence à faire sa toile dans de multiples spots bien cool.

Histoire de bien démarrer le week-end, le dernier album "Wolf" de Tyler est en écoute sur SoundCloud http://soundcloud.com/u-official/6-tyler-the-creator-wolf Je vous conseille notamment Answer (très touchant, about his dad..), Cowboy (+ sombre.. "You'd think all this money would make a happy me, but I'm 'bout as lonely as crackers that supermodels eat." ), le très bon Wolf (avec forcément son emphatic Fuck), et Slater en duo avec Frank Ocean. Enjoy !

Ce soir, à l'occasion de la Fashion Week Parisienne, repassait sur Arte le téléfilm sur Coco Chanel. Une fiction pleine d'émotion qui montre tout le génie de la célèbre créatrice française.

Actuellement à la Halle Saint-Pierre à Montmartre, l'exposition Hey ! pour la seconde édition. J'ai craqué sur l'affiche rouge à droite, malheureusement cette affiche n'était pas proposer à la vente. La librairie de la halle est toujours aussi passionnante. À ne pas manquer si vous êtes à Paris.

En lice, vendredi dernier, pour le césar de la meilleure actrice, Marion Cotillard n'a pas reçu la récompense. Malgré sa très touchante interprétation dans le film De Rouille et d’os, d’Audiard, c’est Emmanuelle Riva, qui a remporté le césar, pour sa performance dans Amour.
