i think odysseus glazing is overrated. he wasn't that great. he's hypocritical and flawed and honestly not that great of a captain. he's a great strategist and can definitely think under pressure but that doesn't bode well for his personal relationships. he's such a selfish character and this might surprise some of you (lie) but i genuinely disliked odysseus at first.

i'm not saying that he's like pure evil. but it's weird how some people will genuinely act like you're an idiot for liking eurylochus more than odysseus. this is more tiktok specific than anything, but a lot of people in the fandom act like eurylochus is somehow worse than calypso & antinous combined. and those same people don't realize that, had they been in his shoes, they would be making the exact same mistakes. eurylochus was absolutely right to warn odysseus about the danger of the gods— aeolus was the one who made sure to spread doubt among the crew. odysseus was the one to ask for help without considering the price for it first.

i don't plan on policing what people enjoy in epic but i just wish it wasn't such a pain to interact with the fandom. you can hate eurylochus all you want but dont come at me with "but circe! but the windbag! but the cow!" bullshit just because EYE like him. not targeted at anyone here just the fandom on tiktok in general
