I was in one of my former home towns, Ajax, Ontario, last Saturday. It was 4½ years since I was last there, for much more challenging reasons. Back then, I was processing grief through the loss of my parents, visiting places in town that were important to them.

This time, it was for Durham Region Pride. I was there with my partner Dorian, and it was a lovely time. It wasn't remotely as corporate as a big city Pride like Toronto. I made sure that the presence of my partner Kieran was very much in my heart as well.
