It's actually INFURIATING when people cry about Israeli "apartheid" when *I'm* the one banned from certain areas my family used to live in, when Muslim countries literally ban any non-Muslims from driving to certain areas, when pretty much anyone is welcome in Israel if they don't threaten to murder Jews.

people are like "I've read twenty-six books on communist transfeminism so I've unlocked the credentials to confidently understand how the world works and all my takes are now officially certified"
and their conclusions are that they have it worse than anyone else, everyone only hates them because deep down they recognize how awesome they are, all sexual attraction is a debased substitute for being attracted to them because no one can handle how desirable they are, and the best tactic to bring about the revolution is establishing a circlejerk on a dying social media website where you pass around memes about how infatuated you are with Neo-Nazis because before you were born the hyper-capitalist kleptocracy they're employed by pretended to not be imperialist
like damn idk if Marx actually said any of that

one might notice I am extremely negative for someone who is annoyed by the negativity of others, as well as why someone against stirring shit would stir shit.
For one thing, I am a very negative person on the inside. My life has been turning around a bit but I don't hold out much hope for a better world some day. I don't think anything good will come of "burning it all down" but there may be no human-discoverable solution to improving humanity's lot.
For the other… I am trying to burn all my negativity off and find a spark within. I think when I was a leftist I always had lingering doubts but every time I so much as liked a youtuber others did not they'd go on the attack and I had to walk on eggshells all the time. Which is exactly how I had to live with my abusers as well. Now I understand they were both equally full of shit and not only vent it out, but also train myself to fight back when someone is aggressive and unreasonable instead of people pleasing.
I have dealt with unreasonable, highly critical, emotionally fragile people all my life. Aggression towards me used to cloud me mind in panic. Now I'm grey rock, but I can't turn it off.
Hopefully, I can use this process to re-emerge as someone newly confident and start creating things.
And the process of becoming more negative and disillusioned… it SUCKS. I want to be full of wonder and hear everyone out. I actually have a lot of love for humanity and the culture it has produced and how much of the universe we've managed to understand.
But humanity, on an individual level? Highly disappointing. And the thinnest line I expected others not to cross has been trampled. The people I lived in fear of turned out all to be useless failures, and their concerns harmed me and the world. I just hope it is not too late for me to not end up like them.

Op probably just blocked everyone because I cannot reblog original, but
1.) No, I read the post exactly as it was intended. My assumptions were the kinder ones. And since this person has learned nothing, I truly believe they will, as I said, farm the responses for pity.
There was a pointed "you" in the original post and I doubt OP has a mouse in their pocket. And I really don't believe them at all with their concerns. This website is to the gills with pro-Palestinian sentiment and the very thought that it could be drowned out by posts concerned about anti-semetism that barely get a thousand posts when all of Jumblr reblogs it.
No, I believe OP's post found exactly the audience it was intended for, but maybe just maybe she actually thought this was a convincing argument. And it got the exact response it would in real life.
2.) As we see here, being concerned with people other than palestinians is an "all lives matter". It's not like Pro-Palestinian people openly celebrate violence against Jews all the time and anti-semetism in the name of the cause has a death count and attempted death count, much less anti-semetism in general.

One might wonder why this post was posted in the first place. It's not getting much in group engagement.
I posit that the op will just comb through the responses without thinking or reading them, take the "meanest" parts out, then go trying to get in group sympathy about how people she antagonized didn't just fall in line. Either that or hoping that within the responses there would be easy prey for a dunk at some point. That is not how you accomplish anything worth while in real life but that's what social media is, pointless vibes farming and ego masturbation.
Note also the crux of the argument is "you don't care enough if you do not behave exactly like me". Now this is a particularly bad case of this, as many people would try to make something at least resembling an argument here such as misrepresenting evidence instead of baseless posturing (again, pure ego masturbation).
But between all the reactions on social media to all the various crisises... That's what a lot of people post these days. Care about this issue the EXACT way I do, don't talk to anyone else, don't consider what methods might be the most effective to do something about it, just fucking perform.
This kind of sentiment is a liability. Not just for movements but for having friends in general.
Something I've largely found IRL is that people don't stick around a fight to weigh in on whose right or wrong. They mind their own business. Starting pointless fights everywhere does not win you friends, it slows progress down, it makes people generally stop engaging with you.
So it's really, really tiring that social media rewards this Demand To Perform Care. For instance, people I know who don't start shit IRL often put out a lot of Demands to Perform Care on complex geopolitical events they are only half informed on, rewarded with like... Five likes from the same people every time. It's just so trite and tiring. I am tired of being demanded I perform behaviors, especially being demanded I perform negative behaviors that would isolate me from real life support.
Just saying that if you focus solely on how the Palestinian genocide is affecting Jewish people, you are not above being grouped with Zionists

Oh and to justify this addition to this post in particular
If leftists cared about their cause at all there would be some ability to debate methods. Especially concern of those methods causing harm, especially when people are concerned for friends and family. But it's always straight to insults, straight to arguments that are only for people in the in-group. It's always straight to accusations.
If you're going to call yourself an activist you should at least understand how people concerned about friends and family feel. And if you are an activist, people who can be clearly tied to your movement killing people is a huge net negative.
But leftists always insist on their particular methods even when people ask if those methods are even doing anything.
With that said, what is the aim of the leftists anyhow? Is it to build coalitions? No.
Of course leftists can't work with ANYONE non leftist at all. Can't work with any type of religion because that's a pipe line, can't work with mainstream liberals, can't work with anyone from the entire country of Israel, can't work with anyone who performs any kind of masculinity because that's scary (so every trans masc is out but somehow Hasan fucking Piker is okay), can't work with anyone who has a job because having income makes you complicit with the system (see how leftists celebrated the climate change fueled disaster at burning man), can't work with liberals or whatever kind of leftist is slightly different. Can't work with friends or family of any of these groups. And if you ask questions if you ever DARE to ask questions then you too are someone not leftist enough.
One might ask what kind of coalition is being built then. Leftists will often then pivot to calling you a fed and lecturing you about how all nonviolent methods have failed so they have to do really illegal methods they can't talk about (they totally aren't just jacking off at mirror in their room all day).
And that is the true aim of the leftist. Just basically to jack off all day.
If I seem hateful. It's because I've been in leftist spaces for decades and never towed the party line. I trusted that there was some plan and even though I've watched online leftist group after online leftist group fall apart with nothing to show for it... I always thought there was some contingent of leftism worth saving.
I sided with pro pals and the boycotts at the start of all this. Just totally based on trust and vibes. I trusted that people behind the movement condemned Hamas. I trusted that people understood that Israelis are not their government. I trusted people to be reasonable.
I did not think I'd watch people declare the total nonstarter nonsense position that to be part of the movement you needed to be pro Hamas and Israel should not exist. I thought we all had Jewish friends or at least admired Jewish celebrities so positions as fucking stupid as Jewish people "should go back to Europe" would be total nonstarters.
Fuck me for trusting any of them.
Pro-tip: your resistance movement might have an antisemitism problem if the Jews in your city are afraid to go out tomorrow.

you know what gets my ass is even if we assume a genocide - in fact, especially if all the shit people say about it is true, I've been highly convinced otherwise - people should actually listen to people who are part of their movement and actually stop and think about if their activism is effective.
But leftists don't do that. They're too fragile for that. The gentlest possible criticisms or questioning about if people in their movement will be safe, or if the actions taken actually will achieve anything, causes them to fall apart and at BEST brand you as nonbeliever who's not committed to the cause enough.
Given how much shit leftists stir in every space they are part of, always trying to drive away allies (Who should be at pride? Who should be up against the wall? Why can't allies take jokes about how they should die? Jews/"ZIONISTS" are not the first time they've done this) and claiming their aggression is necessary for a revolution, it's clear they don't actually care about building a strong movement. Remember every time you antagonize a group you antagonize everyone who has ever had friends or family in that group.
That also means leftists don't have to do a retrospective or feel any guilt that their actions didn't save anyone and now they have failed people they claimed they'd protect. There's no scientific process of viewing the data and considering the outcomes. It's always the fault of the nonbelievers that the leftist failed.
And that's one of the reasons I don't think leftists actually care about the cause and just want a moral bludgeon. There's no thought, no strategy, it's just a clique. Even if there's good theoretical foundations to leftism, it will never be implemented.
Pro-tip: your resistance movement might have an antisemitism problem if the Jews in your city are afraid to go out tomorrow.

The funniest thing about the obsession with “brunch” as a shorthand for liberal political disengagement is that the people the maddest about Brunch are always arguing for Not Voting… which is a form of political disengagement

I’ll never forget that this is the year leftists finally did anything to put their words into actions and the words they chose to enact were the ones about murdering Jews in the street.

There are days when the rage about whats happening in my country is overwhelming.
today its the Supreme Court choosing to hurt trans kids
and I just... hate. I hate all 6 of the conservatives on the court as bottom feeding soulless, lawless shit who get their constitutional views from Facebook memes and Fox News.
I hate Trump who appointed 3 of them, who is the worst person in my country and I hate the people who voted to make him President for their selfish stupid, evil and insane reasons
and I hate everyone who didn't do everything they could to stop him, stop this, don't tell me you give a fuck about trans kids, or trans rights ever ever if you didn't give everything you could to keep them save from a fascist monster who made victimizing trans people a core part of his campaign for President
if you weren't out there fighting for Hillary, Joe, and Kamala in 2016, 2020, and 2024, shut up forever.

All the Qatar money in the world still doesn't explain why someone would think leading with "we want to kill you friends and family" accomplishes anything as activism. It's number one rule of how to interact with other people.
Leftism basically has a lot of people who claim they are science based materialists. But they can't take the emotional discomfort of subjecting anything they do to peer review or subjecting their efforts to metrics. It's always appealing to emotions and morals and reading theory, never any action. In fact, knowing that working with others requires they operate at multiple levels of understanding and how to direct them is something you pick up on in a hurry if you have friends or a job, which are life experiences most people on this site show no evidence of ever having.
So there's nothing really that acts as a counter to my own analysis of leftists: that the reason they lead with aggression is because they're fucking stupid.
As I was pondering the recent development of western leftists now supporting the IRI because they are at war with Israel, thus abandoning the actual people of Iran to this brutal regime, and their earlier abandonment of Ukraine in favor of Russia, and their support for the Houthis, Hezbollah, and even in some cases the Taliban, I was trying to figured out how the hell one gets there from the starting place of supposedly supporting human rights. And the only unifying thing I can figure out is that it seems to come down to supporting anyone and any group that acts in opposition to "the West."
But why?
What's wrong with "The West"™️? What sins have been committed in the West that haven't also been committed in the East (and in plenty of cases are actively still ongoing)?
Because to my recollection, the problem that leftists theoretically have with the West is that it has been built on and amassed wealth based on colonialism, imperialism, slavery, wars of aggression, genocide, and mass human rights abuses. Many take issue with Christianity (particular in its evangelical fundamentalist iteration) as a major driving force and weapon of Western imperialism.
Those are all objectively terrible, horrifying things and good reasons to hate the West and Western hegemony — you won't get any disagreement from me there! However, none of that, no matter how deeply baked into the DNA of the West it may be, is (a) inherent to the West, or (b) unique.
In fact, the East is full of (and in large part also built on) colonialism, imperialism, slavery, wars of aggression, genocide, mass human rights abuses, and fundamentalist, expansionist religions. All of these same issues exist there too! The groups and countries western leftists are stanning are themselves guilty of these same things! So where is the value in being anti-West when the East contains the same problems?
I know I'm asking a dumb question here but: have the people supporting these groups actually thought through why they're so anti-West lately? Because I really don't think they have. There is nothing ontologically or uniquely evil about the West; if the justification for hating the West and everything that flows from it (or that they associate with it, correctly or not) is this list of egregious evil acts, surely they should hate any country or group that engages in that same evil act, no?
And I realize that there are a large number of this sort of person who are just ignorant of history and the facts on the ground outside of the West, or they have been made aware and choose to ignore it as "propaganda" or lies. Even if we rule those people out, I've encountered folks who still just have a burning hatred for the West even if they have accepted the reality of atrocities outside the West committed by non-Westerners against other non-Westerners. And that's something I just truly do not understand; like what's up with that? What gives?

Pinned Post
I shall be daringly start sharing opinions. I don’t have much left to lose because most of the people I trying to follow here either don’t post anymore anyway. There’s nothing funny left. And now that I’m in a better place in my life, I want to get better at writing opinions and learning from history.
Here are the ground rules. Criticism is welcome. Even anger is welcome, but anger is subject to my judgment and will in all likelihood result in a block unless I determine you to be reasonable
I am reachable through debate, if you appeal to my core values. These values do not include morality or rationality. I do not believe in them in general, and I doubt your personal versions of them are as objective or even thought through as you think they are.
If you wish to sell me on a notion, explain what material benefit it would give me over the effort it would take to implement it in my life. Understanding people and not being an asshole for instance brings great value in my life, allowing me to talk to people in person, connect with them, and learn from them. Actively expecting me to be an asshole to people, even if they “deserve it” in your calculus, would only be useful if I wish to isolate myself from all my supports and only take your (shitty) company. And if you can actually counter my point with sources, that will determine that you have use to me as I desire to be able to source my arguments better, even if you post with anger.
Basically, you are expected to read and understand posts and not just coast on vibes. And I’ll break tone and say it’s fucking stupid that this has to be explained on a “discourse” website but that’s the world we’re in.
