Oliver didn't want to move and risk disturbing Elio. This was the first time Oliver had seen him sleep soundly in what felt like forever. It was hard to not be distracted by the mess of curls on the table and resist the temptation to try to get him into the comfortable bed. Thankfully the coffee pot was in arms reach which fuelled him through his mountain of grading his students papers. Just as Elio woke up Oliver was catching his own eyes that were tempted to close. "Come here" he leaned over placing his hand over the back of Elio's sore neck and gently worked the tight muscles loose. "You were out for a few hours" Oliver nodded towards the collection of coffee cups on the table. "Yeah your gonna be sore for a few days but at least we know you haven't lost the ability to sleep. There was no way I was going to wake you" he smirked as he stretched his arms and looked at the time. "I'm starving, you must be too" he assumed as he had only seen Elio eat the pastry he had bought him earlier.
For once he didn't wake up from a nightmare, instead, he woke up from his neck which was hurting. Elio lifted his head up from the table and looked disorientated. Oliver was still sitting in the chair across from him grading the work from his students. Rubbing in his eyes he realized what must have happened. He had been so tired that he had fallen asleep right on his course work and Oliver, the sweetheart that he was hadn't had the heart to wake him up now he finally slept. It was just the kind of thing he would do. If he still had functioning legs he would have undoubtedly picked him up and put them in the bed they shared.
"Was I out for long?" He questions while massaging his neck in an attempt to loosen his muscles. "Oh god that freaking hurts." He curses under his breath while he tries to move his head from one side to another. Not only had he now not finished his work now he had to deal with pain as well. At least he felt a tiny bit less tired. That was something at least.

Oliver was amused by Elio and the way he was defending himself so passionately from the accusation of taking Alice out on a date. Anyone would have thought he had been accused of a crime. It made Oliver wonder if Elio was feeling jealous of Oliver's and Alices history, how sweet his worries could be, he would have to be blind to now know how much Oliver needed Elio. Oliver chuckled and placed a hand on Elio's knee "Yes, your right" the magic words all young men want to hear. Alice put a hand to her chest as she was taken back by Elio's kind words of calling her an Italian. "Oh I wish, I really do but I'm cursed with being an American" she joked. "Careful" Oliver interjected "they wont let you back into the states of they hear you talking treason. "Oh I wish" Alice replied as she lent back and took in the views. Once they were at the table they all settled into their seats and Oliver was comfortable in his space that was made for him. Under the table Oliver casually placed a hand on Elios thigh, he wasn't sure who it was for, himself or physical reassurance for Elio but it felt good until he pulled his touch away to pour wine.
Eli sat next to Alice on the opposite side and began talking about books, Eli's favouite subject. Eli was telling her the best places to read around the villa, when the light was best. The Perlman's made their way back through the house and joined them at the table. The meal felt like a celebratory moment, a welcoming of another member to the household as it was obvious that Alice was not going to be going home anytime soon. They were all ripped from their conversations as the food was bought out to them.
"You didn't say friend date at first!" Elio pointed out while looking down at him. "But I already promised I would show her around and whatnot so in a way that kind of already counts as a friend date no?" Spending more time with Alice might do him good and maybe with some luck he could even manage to get some fun stories about Oliver his past out of her with some coaxing.
Elio couldn't help but laugh at her announcement. "You sound like a true Italian already." He told Alice before walking over towards Oliver's wheelchair and helping him push it up the ramp before letting go of him again once he was back on the surface he couldn't fall off.
The table was already set by the time they had arrived, partly Mafalda her doing no doubt. His parents were already sitting at the table waiting for them. Elio took place next to the spot that did not have a chair, so all Oliver had to do was slide underneath the table. He did notice that the chair wasn't put to far away just in case he wanted to sit down on a regular one.
"That smells lovely as always," Elio declares once the doors to the kitchen opened to reveal the food that had been prepared. It looked like it was way too much as usual. Then again he supposed they might have cooked with the idea in mind that Oliver's parents might have stayed as well. No one here particularly liked that but that didn't mean they couldn't be polite.

There was something quite vulnerable and caring about Elio calling a grown man like Oliver beautiful to then be entangled in a kiss that made his chest fill like it was going to explode. Inside Oliver there would always be the 15 year old boy who looked at other boys from a distance and let his imagination run wild while knowing he couldn't let himself explore the these thoughts. Elio had a way of bringing out that boy, of making him feel seen and have his moment in the sun to explore, be young and horny and in love. Elio thought Oliver was amazing and beautiful even after Oliver had planned to leave him behind and head back to America, even after his body was broken and his muscles changed, even after seeing Oliver cry over the loss of his fully functional body. Elio thought he was beautiful. For such a young man he said things that made a huge effect on Oliver while all Oliver could do was talk about how their sexual encounter felt. "I'm here" he whispered as Elio gasped and clung onto him in a flurry of impending pleasure about to explode. Elios body squeezed around him as their bodies together fogged up the windows of his accommodation. Oliver placed his hand on the small of Elio's back to hold him up while his other hand worked at the younger mans cock "cum for me" he whispered "I want to see you, I want to feel you, I want to taste you, oh my Elio" he muttered against his skin as his own breathing picked up pace.
He laughs along with Oliver when he says fuck because this is different but not in a bad way. Just different but it still feels as good as it had before. Oliver showers him with kisses everywhere and it feels like he is going to explode with the amount of feelings he is experiencing. Relief because everything is still good between them, love for this perfect human being who had saved his life, arousal because right this instant more sounds are coaxed out of him by Oliver's perfect mouth always knew to find the right spots. It was a moment he would capture in a bottle if he was capable of it. To finally be in his arms again feels like coming home.
"You are amazing," He whispers while continuing to move on top of Oliver," And beautiful." Elio pressed a long kiss on Oliver's mouth before moving to pepper kisses on his neck, his fingers still trying to find all the new areas that were now more sensitive. His cock is aching and leaking with precum and god they are going to have to clean this mess up later. He is convinced he will never be able to look at this freaking chair in a normal way again. Would either of them be able to?
"Oliver," He groans once he hits that spot against his prostate again, the one that makes him see stars, his fingers digging into Oliver's skin to keep himself grounded.

Eli smirked as Elio talked about being ready to talk to management if Eli wasn't getting the treatment he deserved. "I have no doubt that you would give them hell. I would say I would do the same for you but music teachers are from a special place in hell but they bring out the best in you, besides, I think you can handle yourself" he smirked as he adjusted his cane in his palm. "Its a pretty big map but Im sure I can find you one if you would like" he was sure one of his professors would be able to surrender one of the maps. To Eli they looked like treasure maps, old beat up thing that had obviously been owned by many people. The buildings were ancient and so full of history it sent Eli's imagination wild. "Just down to the cafeteria but we might make a detour to return a book to a professor" Eli shrugged his own coat on as he swapped out his cane for one with a little more grip. "I don't think people here are used to seeing someone so young with a cane" he mentioned "I've been asked more than once if I had stolen my canes from elderly people" he chuckled. Eli locked up his room with the book tucked up under his arm and pointed his cane towards the direction he was walking. "The food here is pretty good, they keep it simple which is best in my opinion" he looked towards his brother happy to have him there. "Have you spoken to our parents since you got here? I'm sure they would be worried the sunshine boy would get lost" he teased softly.
Would his life be similar to Eli's when he started next semester? He undoubtedly would have a roommate but that would be fine as long as they wouldn't constantly make noise or wake him up. Sharing the same bedroom with your twin for years would make it easier to adjust to someone else.
"I'm glad to hear it." Elio says turning more serious, "If they hadn't treated you well I would have personally gone to find the person in charge to talk some sense into them." Or his parents would have done that if they found out. It wasn't hard to imagine them flying over to get mad at whoever was in charge for being discriminating.
"And you didn't think of sending me a copy of that?" He half-joked when he saw the map, "That would have saved me from making a big detour."
It had been a good thing that his parents had let Eli come here, he looked so happy and in his element. Of course, things hadn't been easy but it was obvious that his twin brother loved the entire experience. "A book club sounds nice," Elio comments while he continues to listen to him. "I'm glad you're enjoying it here. I really am."
At the mention of food, his stomach grumbled and he gave his brother an apologetic smile, "Well the food on the plane was terrible so I am kind of starving." He admitted while getting back up from the bed and grabbing his coat again, "Where are we going?"

Oliver smiled as Elio told him he shouldn't do anything for Elio, this boy had no idea how strong Oliver's feelings were for him. A friend had bought up the possibility of this younger man who they had not yet met was taking advantage of Oliver. He had understood their concern. Oliver had explained in a few words how he felt about the situation. "I need him more than he needs me and he doesn't even know" which had shut down any fears. "Good, I think its a smart choice. It's better to do really well at a few courses than do okay in many, I see so many people stretch themselves too far and create a distain for the subject." he spoke from his experience of seeing so many bright people get burnt out. "Of course, I will be there right with you and they can talk to me as well if that will help calm their nerves" he took Elio's and and squeezed it and let it go. Oliver was settled to get some work done and hopefully work out how to get Elio to sleep but when he looked over and broke his concentration he found a mass of hair and a softly breathing boy. It was almost comical. There was no way he was going to wake him up but he wished he could carry him to the bed. The best he could do was sooth his aching body later. Oliver kept everything the same, carried on with his work and every now and then he would look over feeling lucky to have Elio with him.
"Just because you would do anything for me doesn't mean you should." Elio points out. The last thing he wants is to make things more difficult for Oliver. He had only just gotten back into the rhythm of things with going to work and learning to cope with his disability. "I hope you're right." He mutters in response truly wanting to believe his words.
He bit on his lip and thought about Eli who was out there studying on his own. His parents had understood he would take longer to do his studies. It might feel like the end of the world right now to do the same but would they be mad at him? "I'll go and talk about it with someone tomorrow." Elio says quietly, "Can you stay with me when I tell my parents?" It would probably end up being said in a phone call but just knowing that Oliver would be there with him would make things easier.
Elio chuckled and kissed him before getting from his lap and sitting back down at his spot on the table. He rolled his eyes when Oliver in true professor style tapped his page to focus but at the same time, he couldn't help but smile feeling a little lighter.
He managed to study for a while with Oliver his company but his eyelids were starting to feel heavy. As always he was trying to fight against the sleep, afraid of the nightmares. However one could only go so long without sleep and the sound of the rain against the window was calming, eventually, he ended up falling asleep with one arm under his head for support.

Eli had heard from the letters that Elio wrote him how he felt trapped in the house, how he needed his own space and something to do. It was strange to Eli that he too had felt that way, the feeling of being left behind was a sharp and painful feeling even if there was no malice or intent to the situation. Eli couldn't stop looking at his twin, seeing him in this new space, new light and stepping into a new chapter of Eli's life that he didn't know was possible. "It is cosy, I like it here" he spoke with a bubble of pride in his chest. "Yes the VIP treatment" he joked back about his disability "they've been very accommodating" he answered honestly. It was still a huge challenge for Eli, the old buildings proved to be hard to get around and often he found himself exhausted but he knew this would be the case and it was something he could come to terms with. "Oh your not the only one. I have a map that I had to simplify" he bought out the folded paper which had highlighted routes of where he needed to go. Eli would always find a way even if it was his own way. Eli smiled as Elio asked all the questions he had obviously been nervous and excited to ask. "I love it" he burst out as his hands were shaking so he sat on them. "It's hard, its challenging but... I feel like I have found the place where I am meant to be" he blushed as he looked down at his feet and then corrected his posture. "Ive met a few people, there's a book club I go to but we mostly drink tea and talk. There's people from all over the world here. Mostly I've spent a lot of my time with professors, I have a job where I help with the paperwork and keep things organised and he helps me with the parts of my course I get stuck on" he rambled for a little bit. "You must be starving, shall we go get some food?" he asked as he grabbed his cane and the long coat that was draped over his bedpost.
It had felt weird to be apart from each other for so long, especially now he hadn't been able to start college like Eli had. He had way too much free time on his hands, part of it went to Oliver but he couldn't bother him all the time. He needed his space. Besides he didn't think his parents would approve if he would constantly be at the renovated part of their house. Either way, it left him with way too much free time at his hands, time to think and to miss his twin.
Elio hugged his brother before letting go of him to take in the room. "I'm glad to be here!" He exclaimed while looking down at the bed that his twin had made for him. "Thanks that's very sweet of you." His eyes wandered around the rest of the room as he put down his backpack, "Your room looks cosy." He commented, "You got a nice view as well."
Turning around he grinned at his explanation as to why he didn't need to share a room. "Guess being disabled does have some perks after all." He teased in a brotherly fashion - though he could see that the space usually reserved for a roommate was occupied with some of Eli's stuff. He needed more space and he was glad that he got it. That they gave him everything that he needed. He would also be able to report this back to his parents who undoubtedly would be relieved to hear this.
"I might have gotten lost for a minute," Elio admitted with a sheepish smile, "These buildings all nearly look the same to me but I managed. Now more importantly, how are you? How are classes? You need to tell me everything!" He requests while sitting down on the bed that was reserved for him. "Made some friends yet?"

In such an intimate moment Oliver wanted to think about anything else than the hospital. The bright lights, smell of cleaning fluid, the sound of the doors opening an closing throughout the ward, soft sobs of other men in the same situation and outcome. The well dressed tired looking doctor told Oliver than everything he had known before the accident had now changed. Oliver remembered feeling a wave of determination to prove the doctor wrong. He couldn't help in this moment with Elio but realise that the doctor had been right all along, everything had changed but just because it was different (and some times more challenging) it didn't mean it was something to fear or grieve. Oliver was lost against Elio's skin, finally feeling human, finally feeling a connection he had missed but this time he felt like nothing could take it away. He had never felt these sensations before, while some parts of his body felt almost numb, other parts like his chest neck and shoulders were sensitive to every touch. A soft warm breeze rolled in through the open window pushing the curtain towards them. The quiet rumble of a car passing on the main road. The distant crashing of waves. These would be the things that Oliver would relive when thinking of this moment along with the feeling of Elios skin, the sharp gasps of breath and the creak of Oliver's wheelchair. He would never be able to look at his chair the same again. Oliver sucked in a breath as Elios hands brushed over his nipple sending a jolt through him "fuck" he chuckled against Elio's neck amused by the new sensations. He leaned up to capture the boys lips with his own "you feel amazing" he muttered as he kissed his face, his cheek, forehead and then the most sensitive parts of his neck he knew he would get a reaction with. The temptation to leave marks and admire them in front of other people was almost too much.
It wouldn't surprise him if Oliver somehow knew how much he wanted this. It was as if he was always able to read him at any given moment. For some it might be terrifying that he could read him like an open book but to Elio it felt comfortable and safe.
He gasped once he was lowered entirely on him and fuck he had forgotten how good this felt or maybe it felt this good because it had been so long? It didn't matter. All that mattered was that they were together once again now.
He loved how Oliver took the lead and set the pace. His eyes fluttered shut when he found a sensitive spot on his neck and he had to bite his lip so as not to moan out his own name in response. As they had done before. One hand of his was still holding onto his shoulder to steady himself while the other ran back over Oliver's chest, flicking his nipples once more now he knew they were more sensitive than before.

"You know I would do anything from you" Oliver tiled his head as he felt helpless to comfort his partner. He held his arms out as Elio sat on his lap and he held him close. "This is a phase, it wont be forever" he spoke softly as he rubbed up and down his back. He shook his head "your parents will understand, they will know that we've sat down and talked it through" he looked up at him and cupped his face. Elio looked exhausted, Oliver felt sorry for him, he wanted to fix this but maybe it was something that would take healing and time. "Come on, I will get some work done with you and then we can rest but first give me kiss" he leaned up a little seeking what he asked for. Oliver grabbed his bag and sat next to Elio at the table and got out the work he needed to get done. Oliver tapped Elio's page to get him to focus. In the background the sounds of city played out, cars going past, rain tapping against the window, music playing in a far off building. City life was a huge difference from the villa in Italy.
"I couldn't ask that of you." Elio said shaking his head, "Just because I can't get any sleep because of my nightmares shouldn't mean that you lose sleep as well." Feeling kisses being peppered all over his face made him smile. "Maybe I can try to do it on my own? But then we barely get to talk to one another…"
Part of him knew he was overreacting but there was also a part of him that knew if he stopped doing anything the black hole would swallow him whole and who knew if he would ever be able to make it out of there. That thought truly terrified him. However, Oliver was right about one thing something needed to change. "I'm sorry you're right… I know you're just trying to help." Elio said while dropping his arms next to his body again.
At his request, Elio shuffled forward until he was close enough to sit back into his lap again. "I'm always sleep-deprived lately so I don't think we can wait until that changes." He points out with a sad smile, "But I guess I can drop a class… It's just… It feels like failing. Like I'm failing at life in general. I can't even imagine telling my parents that I would drop a class. They will be so disappointed in me."

"Oh that's true" Oliver nodded, he didn't ever want to get on the bad side of the Perlman's, as generous and understanding as they had been he knew that they could be fierce if they needed to be. Oliver chuckled, sometimes he forgot how different his home was to here in Italy. Elio might pass out if Alice tells him about their homosexual friends back in New York City. "Oh calm, a friend date" Oliver held his hand up and then settled it on Elio's arm. Alice tilted her head as she looked at the boys "Oh yes, I'm pleased they didn't stick around" she sighed as she looked up at the sky "I'm starving and I need wine" she stood up and smoothed out her dress. Oliver perked up and nodded "I agree, food and wine it is". He unlocked the breaks on his chair and made his way to the ramp to get up to the area with the dining table. Eli and Alice followed close behind as Alice held out a hand for Eli to stable him which Eli accepted as he made his way up the steps. He wasn't sure how long he would stay out but food did sound good.
"You can be sure they won't get away with it when they are talking to our family." Elio quips flashing a smile in Oliver's direction.
"Hey, it's not like I can read it from her face who's she's into!" He defends himself, "And I know you guys know each other quite some time. Alice said something similar." His jealousy might be misplaced but he still envied her for spending so much time with Oliver. They would never be able to be so out in the open with their relationship even if they wanted to. Too many people wouldn't understand and judge them.
"I still do think you can do anything you can put your mind to I just think it will be a bit difficult to arrange dates given the distance." He points out to his twin while leaning on Oliver's wheelchair. It was worrying how out of breath Eli was for such a short distance but he tried not to show it. Eli didn't want to be pitied.
"What?" Elio exclaimed looking from Oliver to Eli and back, "I'm not taking her out on a date! I mean not that she's not pretty or nice but you know… " He stammered with flushed cheeks right when Alice arrived. Perfect timing.
"It's okay it's nothing we can't handle," Elio mutters while trying to hide his flushed cheeks and pretend that the conversation earlier had not been embarrassing or had been about her. "Besides they didn't stay too long." Luckily, he added in silence, because he wasn't sure how much more badmouthing he could have taken before losing his temper.

Eli had been looking forward to Elio's visit for weeks. It had felt like a lifetime since he had seen his brothers face. They had kept their promise to keep in touch. The letters were the highlight of his week and the rare phone call was a big comfort. Elio opened the heavy door to his room to greet his twin but took a moment to take in the sight of him before breaking out into a big grin and hugged Elio while leaning on him for support. Eli had cut his hair to get it out of his eyes, people at the school told him it looked a lot neater than the long hair he would hide behind. "I'm so pleased you made it" he pulled back and found his cane against the wall to lean on. "I have a bed all made up for you" he announced as he moved aside to let Elio in and closed the door behind them. It was an ancient but well looked after building. Eli's room had a huge window reaching up to the ceiling, under the window was a desk buried in books and papers both from his work and reading and writing for fun. Three house plants sat on the window ledge. "They gave me a room to myself as I need more room for my canes and chair" he spoke as he pointed his cane to the wheelchair in the corner. The campus was huge so it made sense for Eli to get past his stubbornness and use the chair when he needed to. Eli sat down at his desk chair "did you find the place okay?"
**************************
It was weird to be on a campus that wasn't one you were part of. Everyone moved around purposefully while he was trying to find his way towards where his twin was staying. He had already gotten lost twice but now believed he found the right building. Hopefully. It was his own fault for not wanting Eli to pick him up once he had arrived. He just figured that he would be busy enough and didn't need to waste his energy on something as trivial as that.
He hoisted up his backpack while making his way through corridors until he finally found the right dorm room. At least it was the one his twin had given him. If this wasn't his, this could get awkward fast. After a few knocks on the door, he took a few steps back and waited until someone - fingers crossed it was Eli - would open the door for him. He should be in since he said he would arrive around this hour.

"Of course you would" Oliver laughed as he buried his face against Elios neck. "You are very welcome, it was a completely selfless act" he joked. It was quite the sight, he had come up with multiple excuses but one that worked well was he needed it for cycling as the chaffing was becoming painful. Now when he was out the pharmacist always checked up to see if the lube worked. "Yes, I want this more than you could ever know" he admitted honestly as he let himself get lost in the moment. Slowly and carefully he slipped his fingers out from Elio and held his partners slender hips as he guided him into position. Slowly he entered him and fought the want to move his hips which while it was possible just a little bit he wanted to not rush. "Oh Elio" he breathed out against his chest as he held him close.

Oliver loved the way they teased on another, the way they were able to keep things light. It was a sign of now comfortable they had become with one another. Even after everything they had been through it was like they were picking up from where they left off. "I have some idea of how much you want this" he smirked as he chased a kiss. This felt incredible, to have Elio back in his arms, to be this close again after so long. He was holding back, the last thing he wanted to do was hurt Elio. When Elio said he was ready Oliver let out a breath as he lowered Elio completely onto him. This was a new experience, his body now worked differently, it was like it was recalibrating his whole nervous system and changing the way he felt the pleasure. Oliver reached down and held Elios hips, guiding him up and down on his lap as he moved his own hips just a little bit. "Oh fuck" he breathed out as he leaned up to kiss Elios neck trying to find the sensitive nerves to make him moan.
"Very selfless indeed since you have not gained anything from getting it." Elio teased while laughing as well. "I'm glad you did it though I wouldn't have thought of it…" Especially not back when he was still doubting if Oliver even liked him in that way, let alone that they would sleep together.
Looking back at it all, he really had been an idiot. A blind idiot.
"Oh really? But you don't even know how much I want this." He mutters in response while he lets Oliver take the lead and guide him. His eyes fall shut when Oliver enters him and he takes a couple of deep breaths to get used to the feeling again.
His eyes fly open when he hears his name being called out and he leans in to kiss Oliver. "I'm ready." He whispers against his lips because he knows, he's waiting to do anything until he gives him the okay. To make sure he wouldn't hurt him.

If it was anyone else than Kylo Hal would have left by now. His chest hurt, his eyes were sticking with tears. Being questioned was bringing him back to when his parents sat him down and told him they could not support him anymore. They disowned him. Hal was beginning to think that Kylo wanted to tell him the same thing, that he had found Hals stash and he had to go, that they couldn't be friends. A few deep breaths, he had to keep it together. The big comfort was knowing that no matter what he had his van and the open road. There was a familiar ache where he questioned why he got himself involved with people when he survived just fine on his own for so long. Hal pulled himself together and followed Kylo through the home. He stopped when his friend stopped and looked at what he was being shown. The sight of the photo was a real surprise. The idea that his friend would want a picture of them in his home really took him back. "Its us" he muttered transfixed on the photo. "I can remember exactly when we took this, I held the camera and you pressed the shutter" Hal smiled. Kylo's words meant the world to him. The thought of being missed, that someone remembered him and thought of him was a great comfort. "I'm sorry too, I've missed you" he smiled through his tears and laughed "I swear I don't always cry" he wiped his eyes with his sleeve.
The “Oh” his guest let out rippled through him. Followed by the immediate stuttering and the nervous rubbing on his thighs Kylo knew the rumors were true. However, he simply kept a slight smile on his face as he turned away to put the brownies in the oven. “Okay, I believe you” Kylo lied as he began to wash his hands. He didn’t expect Hal to admit anything. His stomach turned as he really began to look over Hal. How small he seemed. Kylo cut his eyes away trying to find a way to answer the question.
“Don’t worry about it okay? You know my mother is a gossip. I’ve already spoke to her about that gossip’n she always doing.” Kylo was only partly being honest. His mother was one of the first to tell him what she had heard. But childhood friends also called to ask if he had spoke to him lately. This all led to tonight. Their reconnecting.
Hearing all the rumors for the past month Hal was heavy on his mind. So hearing he was close and could come and grab a drink was exactly what Kylo needed. To lay eyes on Hal himself. If he could he would keep the man close for forever.
“The brownies should be done in thirty minutes. In the meantime let me show you something”
Kylo just wanted Hal to be okay. But for tonight he would settle for helping him to calm down. He didn’t know how Hal would react but he had to ask. Kylo headed out of the kitchen glancing back to make sure Hal was following. He walked to the stairs to show a picture of them in the fields. Kylo stared at the photo quietly before speaking. “I’m sorry we lost touch. Those moments with you are some of my favorite memories”
Hoping to remind Hal of who he used to be. He carefully took the picture off the wall and let out a sigh. “Life was simple back then” Kylo chuckled as he placed it back on the wall. He wasn’t naive to expect his friend to stay the same as they were as kids. Life happened. Shit Hal wasn’t ready to share. But Kylo was determined to help him.

Oliver nodded as Elio explained that his pulled to the dark places and it wasn't a place he would like to reside. It felt like that for Oliver too, like something was pulling Elio away.
"Well I do get back around 6pm, we could sleep 6-10 that's at least 4 hours, get up for a while and see if you want to sleep the rest of the night" he suggested as he kissed Elios face. Elios visceral reaction to Oliver's suggestion of taking a break from his studies made Oliver wish he could spring up in the same way but he couldn't. "Okay okay" he nodded trying to calm the situation. "I was just trying to take the pressure off" he explained as he instantly regretted the suggestion. "Your in control, whatever you feel is right for you" he held up his hands and then brushed back his own hair. "Come back" he tapped his lap wanting to soothe things. "Making these kind of decisions while your sleep deprived is not the best idea" he pointed out. "If you need to drop a class that would work too" he wheeled forward just a little to touch Elios arm "I just want what's best for you".
Rationally once again he knew Oliver was right but still, in comparison to him Oliver was doing a much better job than he was. Despite everything he tried to stay optimistic and did things to make his day better, like bringing him his favourite treat while Elio could barely muster the energy to go to class.
"I don't want to go to those dark places it's more like I get pulled into them." Elio sighed.
A small smile appeared on his face in reaction to hearing him laugh. If Oliver hadn't been here with him he had no clue how he would be able to cope at all.
"I guess we could try that…" Elio agrees reluctantly, "But that would make it very hard to get up in the mornings… Even more than usual I mean. Also, I can't expect you to sleep with me during the day you have a job remember?" He wasn't even sure he wanted to attempt sleeping when he was on his own. The only upside of that would be that if he had a nightmare he wouldn't wake him up.
"Still if I ever make you feel that way tell me okay?" Elio requested after kissing him back and settling down properly in his arms.
His entire body froze in reaction to his next suggestion. Talking to his professors would be one thing but taking a break and quitting? No, he could not do that. His parents were paying for this he already felt bad enough that he couldn't support himself by getting a job next to his studies like everyone else did. His body felt cold all of a sudden and he jumped up from Oliver his lap, needing more distance while wrapping his arms around himself.
"No. I'm not doing that." He said firmly, "I'm not just going to hang around in your place all day healing or whatever else it is that you have in mind and wasting time doing nothing. Not doing anything is not going to help and before you go and suggest to go to therapy like Eli did… Do you even know how many things I can't talk about? How would that even work if I had to keep half of my life hidden? If I say one wrong word and I'm unlucky they put me in some correctional facility. "

Eli sat at the table as everyone moved around him, laying the table, sweeping the leaves, talking to one another. Eli was acutely aware of how he looked and he didn't want to come across as miserable. He sat up right and tried to take in the beautiful warm evening, the birds traveling back to their nests, plants and tress rustling in the gentle breeze as the moon was begging to rise in the dimming skin. He didn't notice León on the grass until he stood up. Leon must have bene there for quite some time. Eli tried to avert his gaze as the guest made his way to the table. It was quite amusing how the damp grass had stuck to his exposed skin. It was a challenge for Eli to not be charmed by León and he had to remind himself that he didn't know him. Eli reached up and brushed a strand of grass from the guests forehead "hmm, you like it. Your wearing the garden" he teased in his broken English. As soon as he was there he was gone, off running to grab a shirt, leaving Eli to watch him go with a smirk and a blush to his cheeks. The Perlman's were looking from the guest and back to their son and then to one another with a knowing look before taking a sip of wine. "What?" Eli asked in confusion.
After struggling for half an hour to fall asleep in the foreign bed, León gave up. A mist of familiarity had settled over him like he was sleepwalking through the past. He blamed over-exhaustion and excitement fighting inside him. Of course, he would have deja vu. Italy had been a fantasy for so long that it was inevitable to feel this way.
León changed out of his travelling clothes into a pair of swim shorts and slung a towel over his shoulder before heading downstairs. He greeted Mavalda on his way through the kitchen, stepping out through the wall of heat into the garden.
Flies darted around the thickly sweet air, dancing around the fruit trees. León descended the garden, half wondering if he could steal a peach. But he hurried away when he felt eyes on him. He wasn't going to get thrown out over a silly peach.
He wandered the garden searching for the pool, marvelling at its tranquility. There was birdsong instead of traffic. And was that the distant sound of music? León strained his ear to catch the tune but wasn't sure there was one.
He spent a while swimming, then another short time floating on his back to watch the pristine blue sky. After a while, he finally collapsed onto the sunbaked grass to soak in the rays.
He woke with a start in the dim blue evening light, dried grass clinging to his cheek and stomach. The music was back, louder. He recognised the tune but couldn't name it.
With a reluctant sigh, León pulled himself to his feet and followed the distant sound of the family on the patio.
‘Buenosera,’ he called to the table as he towelled the grass off. He found his chair beside Eli and grinned at him as if he didn't look like he had been dragged across the lawn. ‘Your garden is pretty.’
After a moment, León realised he was underdressed. Swearing in Catalan, he stood. 'I forgot my shirt!' He laughed and gestured upstairs. 'I will be back.'

This girl Valerie was quite the mystery. He was sure there was a lot she wasn't telling him but she didn't need to, Eli was happy to accept her just as she was. He gave her time and space to speak and nodded along as the sentence became clear. She wanted to come with him to the library, well this was turning out to be quite the side quest. Eli nodded and smiled as he listened "great, it would be nice to have some company" he stood up and gathered his things as he began he rain he got out his umbrella which was big enough for both of them to walk under. "So if you go back to school what would you like to study?" he asked curious at what she might be into or have plans to do. "I think your ever so brave to want to improve yourself after going through a tough time with illness. I know what its like and its pretty scary. He took a moment to get his folding cane and assemble it by screwing in the parts and then used it while walking along.

she has to admit , she could not even imagine the taxing effect the social aspect of school would have on her , since she has never been in anywhere close to such an environment before . she is sure that it would be nothing sort of exhausting , and the overstimulation due to all of the new and foreign stimuli would be nothing short of draining . though she had not been capable of testing the bandwidth of her social battery as of yet , nothing past short walks away from the house and such , she is more than positive it has to be near depleted already . she would frequently enjoy learning by herself , having tutors come to her when she was living at home before her situation changed . however , due to circumstances that were out of her control , she was not fully able to absorb her teachings as she would have hoped . she was still confused about what she had uncovered about her situation , the one that led to her having to be relocated , and she was still not sure how to feel about it at the end of the day .
she was slightly heartbroken that he empathized with her in the way he seems to , but on the other hand , it was nice to have someone who could relate on some level at least , even if they did not have the complete picture of what she had to endure ; even she was not clear on all the details . she gives back a just as gentle smile , stressing at the sleeves of the garment he provided her earlier . " y --- yes , I . . . I w --- would . " she states , though she didn't have study materials of her own go utilize . her eyes however did light up when she was proposed the idea , since she never would turn down an opportunity to go to the library . " e --- eas --- easing into it m --- might be for the b --- best . " she had to agree , since it would not be wise to dive in head first when she is already terrified at the prospect of it all .
