"Of course you don't." Deckard replies, a lack of shock to his tone and more deadpan as he holds back the urge to roll his eyes. Though he was more or less surprised she actually agreed to his words, no doubt it was because he was letting her and Owen continue whatever job they had planned. Deckard didn't exactly care, he had bigger fish to fry, he just wanted his brother safe. "Good, then we won't have a problem. Glad to know you can be reasonable."
“I don’t regret a lot of things, and I’m not going to regret it.” She knew that it was a big brother postering. And as long as Owen did what she wanted successfully there wouldn’t be a problem. “Well that sounds almost agreeable.” She said with a nod.

A small huff left the vampire as he nods, understanding what she meant though in some way it could maybe relate to that situation. It wasn't his choice to be brought back to life but even then he couldn't deny the perks or the fact he'd been given a chance at revenge. Though her question had surprised him, causing his brow to furrow for a brief moment before giving an answer. "There are things I'd do differently but I don't dwell on what happened. I'd prefer to not die at all."
“What’s the old saying that they told virgin women? There’s pleasure after the pain,” Lucy stated matter of factly. He’d gone through something horrendous, but he’d been rewarded in the end. He was able to do something that no other vampire had ever succeeded in doing fully - he could walk in the sun without burning. Even Dracula had to hide within the darkened clouds to shield himself. “Would you do it all over again?”

What he was thankful for, mostly, was how everyone at least tried to be patient with him to help him understand. Of course others were more cruel with it, not surprising to him in the slightest. There would always be those who found some opportunity to make themselves appear more. She was at least not one of those from what he noticed in their brief conversation. Brow furrowed as he gave her a look at her recent words, a chuckle slightly following after. "You can't? Why's that?" Arms moved to cross over a chest. "I mean I know how to but I haven't tried a modern car I suppose."
"Yeah, I'd imagine so." What year was it that he was from? 1955, she saw it on a report once. Honestly, she doesn't really want to imagine what things were like in 1955. By her standards, a lot less fun. But that would probably be rude to say, and she's not quite in the mood for that at the moment. "I still can't drive a car, so you're probably ahead of me there." Lighthearted humor is a good way to put people at ease, make them feel a sense of connection.

He liked to think he'd gotten good at blending into here by now, being the new person he was after running away from hell he had found himself i years ago. This new life of his, well, it was one he enjoyed and now? Well, there might be something more to add to it, maybe. A nod was given as name was repeated, as if showing she was right. His grin widened at her answer as he turned to help lead her to them. "I thought it might." Ryan answers as they begin the rather short walk with drink in hand before reaching the stairs. "Uh, I've never done it so yeah I just watch. Don't think the boss would like if I left him a ranch hand down, you know?" He steps aside, letting her go first up the stairs where she already knew the rest of his coworkers and friends were sitting. "You'd be right, we're just here to enjoy it all." When they reached the area where they were sitting, he managed to speak up so everyone knew what they were doing. "Alright guys, we're gonna cheer on Matty, that's her brother, alright?" He gives a look, everyone pauses a moment before giving a nod with a grin. "See, told you they'd be down for it." Ryan says, attention shifting to her as they find their seats.
she wasn't surprised by the strength of his hand shake, just by the glowing, nay radiant smile. "ryan," she repeated, and then looked past him at the group of wrangler's further up in the stand watching them. she gave them a nod in greeting before turning her attention back to ryan. "that sounds like fun." she stepped away from the railing and allowed him to lead her up to his group. "so, you ever partake or do you just watch?" she was curious to see how far this newfound fun side of the yellowstone team extended. "given how willing you were to cheer for matty, i assume none of you are riding tonight, but i just mean in general." her bootsteps rang out on the metal treads of the stands as they ascended the stairs.

All of it was still processing in the mind of the ranch hand, what he had seen her do and what came after. John was alive, that much he was thankful for but it left questions swirling around in his head. Of course his reaction could have been better but he had been in shock. How else was he to process that? Still, he knew she couldn't go running off. This wasn't going to solve anything and the last thing she needed was being alone after everything went to shit. Rip wasn't one to abandon those who worked on the ranch, they were a family in a sense and that still included her even after what he witnessed. They needed to talk, but that could wait because first he needed to find her. His mind was racing as he took the truck down the dirt roads that came to mind that she might be running along. He wasn't entirely sure where she might be going in the dark but it was the best hunch he had. The boys couldn't even entirely point him in a direction, he just had to guess and hope his gut was right.
He leaned over the wheel as much as he could as he drove, looking out into the dark in hopes he'd spy something. And it's in his search he knows he has to find her soon, not just because she could get lost in the dark woods with wild animals but he didn't know if the family was also entirely clear. Sure, they had cleared the ranch but he wasn't going to be one hundred percent that everything was handled. He knew the boys could handle anything else that arose, he wasn't entirely worried about the ranch but he was concerned for everything else around it. It's then blue eyes land upon a trail that branches off of the road, a familiar one to Rip and one that he remembers she enjoyed. It was a stretch but what other choice did he have? Putting the car off on the side of the road, he gets out and begins moving up the trail.
Rip doesn't yell out her name, he doesn't want to alert any animals to their location or possible enemies. His lack of trusting, well, anyone clearly showing through. But it didn't stop him from charging onward, down the trail until the form of what he assumed was a person caught his attention. "Aiden?" He questions, not yelling but slight haste to his voice as he got closer and closer until eventually he saw her sitting there. "Fucking Christ." He mumbled to himself, moving towards her and slowly coming to a stop as he stood in front of her. A word isn't said, just a brief look over before moving then to sit beside her in silence. He lets that sink in, let's the silence settle over them a moment before eventually speaking up. "You know you gave everyone a scare back at the ranch." Rip starts to say. "Runnin' off like that. That's dangerous."
Aiden kept running as fast she could. As much as she hated that her secret was out, she was glad that she was able to help John. she didn't want to see someone else she cared about die in front of her. She couldn't say her mom back then. She wasn't going to lose someone else. though now that her secret was out. She felt she lost the only home she found since she left San Francisco. Tears were streaming down her face as she kept her speed. She knew she could easily use her powers to leave. But there was a small part of her that hoped someone would come looking. Though at the same token, her own father didn't come find her. What made her think people that weren't related to her would? Her mind was so full of emotions that she couldn't think straight.
She knew that her powers would have been found out sooner or later. But she had hoped that it would be on her own terms. As close as she was getting to Rip and Beth, she often dreamt of them being her new parents. It was the light she finally had from all the darkness that seemed to surround her. Despite how she felt about her powers especially her whitelighter ones, she hoped that she could share her past with them. Her way of letting them in to her guarded heart. Though now she thought it was a lost cause. Maybe those other people were right. Maybe she was just a broken freak that didn't belong anywhere.
After awhile, she started to slow down to catch her breath. She looked around to where she was and noticed a familiar trail not to far. It was one of her favorites when she got to go riding. A part of her wanted to continue on. Though the huge part of her wanted to leave something for someone to find. Something they could give to everyone at the ranch. It could be her way to say good bye. she started walking towards it, already trying to think of the letters she wanted to write. it still pained her to think that this might be her last time here. However she couldn't leave without saying her thanks for all that they did for her. She found a tree once she got closer and sat down. She opened up her backpack, pulling out paper and a pen to start writing.
