Doctor Zayne is all done!

I’m really pushing what the ipad and Procreate can handle with the detailing and amount of layers that said ipad can handle. Thankfully, I WAS able to keep my original sketch and tight pencils layers this time around. Just had to be thoughtful about what layers I could combine, and which ones I couldn’t.

Love and Deepspace is seriously feeding us with this game! We are in so much danger with the Tomorrow’s Catch-22 releasing tomorrow. 🤣😈💜

Zayne’s pretty eyes…

I’ve noticed that not only does he have red-brown flecks in the green of his eyes, he also has a splash of BLUE in them!

InFold going insane with the tiiiiniest of details. 💜

So, because THEY go all out, so must I when I paint them.

In other news, it’s another Ninja Turtles binge day while I work on painting in Procreate.

The ONLY place you can stream the first movie currently here in the US is via Youtubes TV & Movies channel… it’s not even available on Amazon anymore! Something about the license not being renewed.

I STILL don’t know what to do for the background, I’ll be adding whatever it shall be during the painting stage. Maybe a night scene from a street in Linkon City? Wouuuuld give me an excuse to practice nighttime city streetlight backlit painting.

Did I treat myself to two late Christmas presents?

Why yes… yes, I did.

Already read Starling House via Libby, and absolutely LOVED it. Not very spicey, focuses a LOT more on the actual plot, the history of the family, the history of the house, and the curse, aaaand I love Opal and Arthur.

AND the fact that neither one of them is described as drop dead gorgeous / perfect / god levels… like in certain romantasy books that I also love… XD

Lightlark?

I’m taking a risk with this one, and diving in head first and blind, have not read it, NADA. But many people in the romantacy groups I’m in have suggested it, so LESDOTHISTHANG!

I can’t afford to do that often… Libby is my god send for having a chance to read books nowadays because what the fuck is money?

But I really REALLY loved Starling House. It stuck with me.

And I may have to do the same with Gilded and Cursed if I can find them both in a bookstore (Marissa Meyer… they’re a duology. They GUT CHECKED me in the feels. I adore Gild and Serilda!).

More progress!

Listened to the rest of, “Lights Out”, and hope to finish listening to, “Gilded” (yeah, have to use my imagination for what would have been the spiceh scene if Gilded hadn’t been a YA book. We KNOW they got busy, Serilda and Gild DO end up having a kidling after all. BUT truthfully, the indications that spice happens without actually showing it DOES work for this series. Trust me, Gilded and Cursed have enough world building and emotional damage and heart rendering that spice isn’t actually needed.).

Lights Out, on the other hand… ohmy… do NOT listen without earbuds. 😈 SPICEH romcom that knows THAT genre can be royally fucked up. 😅

Finally back on working on this painting of Sunny Day Jack!

Still debating if I actually do want to create the N*S*F*W version, or only release the pants on version.

Finally finished his hair, though! In this house, we are religious to using triadic complementary colors when painting… adds a pop of extra color, hence the use of lime and magenta in his blue hair.

And YEP, we still using ArtRage when using the laptop! Nothing beats their oil brush and canvas settings… NOTHING. 💜🖌️🎨

My own take on chibi Rafayel as a merman, from the game, “Love and Deepspace”.

Yes, I know his underwater story was released recently, and he has several red & blue markings, plus different jewelry, but let’s just say that his tail colors were inspired by his clothes instead. 😅 This was started before that release.

Done in Procreate on my iPad, my first piece of work finished in my new home!

Progress on chibi merman Rafayel!

And now, with the current chapter I just started on Love and Deepspace, I am THOROUGHLY convinced that this brat of a man was originally a merman before coming to the surface.

Just as Zayne might be a form of the Grim Reaper or just Death himself, and Xavier was / is a starboy (think like the original idea that Disney writers had for the Star in Wish, their recent flop… WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER WITH A STARBOY! 😭💜).

We don’t know that he’s absolutely a merman juuuust yet, the game’s main story hasn’t gotten there YET.

But it IS leaning towards that! And I’ve been itching to draw a merman Rafayel for a hot minute now.

Not what to do for Xavier and Zayne just yet, though.

Feels good to work in this again, and have a shit load more layers available to me. Aaand access to pinned reference material.
