Life’s Entropy haul!
Life’s Entropy is a NYC indie cosmetics company. Their liquid lipsticks come in a huge range of colors and finishes. The two I purchases was Cobalt Coronary (Lip Theory) and Sine (Matte Theory). I was also given a sample of Redox.
I wasn’t a fan of the Lip Theory formula personally. There was a lot of bleed around the edges of my lips. I did however love the Matte Theory.
A bit drying, but not more than most other brands (comparable to NYX, Kat Von D, Tarte, etc). What was unique about this one is that it is a shifting lip topper. It was a gold/red shift that enhanced most colors I put it over (pictured if Too Faced’s Melted Matte in Queen B with Sine on top).

Brand: Villainess Soaps
Product: Mud!
Scent: Dulces En Fuego
Ingredients: White Clay, Cocoa powder, Moroccan lava, Oat powder, Coconut powder, Vanilla, Marshmallow root powder, Cinnamon, Black pepper, Nutmeg, Coffee extract
Description: “Blend of rhassoul and white kaolin clays to draw impurities from the skin, powdered marshmallow root to soften skin, vanilla beans and cocoa for their intrinsic mineral and anti-oxidant loads (plus, sheer decadence), and a smattering of spices to improve circulation.”
Use: Brighten complexion
Villainess’s Mud! has been the most rewarding shot in the dark I’ve taken with cosmetics in a long while. I was really intrigued by the idea of a spiced chocolate mask. Most masks I’ve encountered are designed to be soothing and cooling. This one comes at your skin from the other side, creating a tingling, hot sensation on your skin and revealing a smooth, softened complexion after.
Results: I’ve used this several times and have been very pleased with the tone and feel of my skin. On the first use I did a larger water to powder ratio (2:1) making a watery, light mask. The second time I did a 1:1 creating a thick, cakey mask. The thicker mask took longer to set and irritated my face a bit due to the higher concentration of spices, but I liked he results much more.
It started as a tingling sensation, but on spots that I had cuts or blemishes there was a mild stinging that occurred. The thinner mask was a bit harder to apply but caused less irritation. I only experienced a mild tingling. Both preparations left my skin looking bright and soft for several days after and smelled amazing while I had it on. I noticed that the amount of blemishes around my mouth (a usual problem area for me) reduced significantly after the treatment. The dry skin I normally get on the bridge of my nose and forehead had also cleared up.
Villainess warns against using this on sensitive skin and I can see why. With the use of spices like nutmeg, cinnamon, and black pepper those with more delicate skin can run the risk of causing serious irritation. I experienced a bit of redness after removal, but it faded after 15 minutes are so.
I did get a bit of the caffeine jitters after using this I’m assuming from the coffee and cocoa.
About the ingredients:
Dulces En Fuego is a blend specifically designed to awaken the skin by combining activating spices such as black pepper, cinnamon, coffee, and nutmeg while pulling away dead skin and impurities. All of these spices boast the ability to boost circulation in the skin, exfoliate, and act as antibacterials that help reduce acne development. The white clay (Kaolinite) used in this mask is a gentle earth that allows for mild exfoliation to help soften the skin. It doesn’t absorb oils as much as other clays, but will help reduce the production of oil on overly oily skin.

The indies used in this look were Brija Cosmetics’ loose eye shadow in “Tonight’s the Night” and Life’s Entropy Lip Theory in “Redox”.
Brija’s eye shadows are incredibly pigmented and long lasting. Tonight’s the Night is a true silver on me. The description online claims it also has a red duochrome and red/copper sparkle but they didn’t show all that well. I tried photographing the shadow in different light sources, but still didnt see much red sparkle. The pictures on the site didn’t show them except minimally in a close up. Regardless, I loved the color and coverage. As expected with loose powder, there is a significant amount of fallout if too much is applied to the brush so layer instead of trying to get it all on in one shot and use a primer.
Life’s Entropy Lip Theories are a hit and miss for me. My lips and the skin around them tend to be dry and lead to lipstick bleeding over the edges even with a liner. With one of the other colors I had horrible bleed and could not get an even coat. Redox has a nice consistency, easy to apply with a lip brush. On it’s own it is more of a frosted gloss with a purple/blue shift. I wanted a thicker look for my lipstick, so I applied Kat Von D’s Studded Kiss in Magick (dusty pink) as a base and did two layers of Redox on top. I recommend applying a translucent setting powder or spray over after dried for longer wear.
EYES: Brija Cosmetics (tonight’s the night); NYX Cosmetics (mermaid); TooFaced (white chocolate; creme brulee); Mally Beauty more is more mascara. LIPS: Kat Von D Beauty Studded Kiss(magick) used as a base topped with Life’s Entropy (Redox)
