The song was teased right before the announcement with an Instagram story. V also made two posts, one in December 2023, maybe around the time it was filmed, and one around the release.

Samuel Bradley posted pictures on Instagram, including some about the planning of the diner scene.

Bangtan Greenhouse identified plants in the flat and at the cafe.

The red bus is an RF 512 model and the signboard of the fake bus stop indicates:

Live performance at W Korea

The live performance was filmed at the Maison Cheongdam La Résidence of Cartier (src). It's revealed in the description box of the video that V had made the song two years prior to releasing it (src).

The teasers for this project were released on j-hope's birthday, on February 18th. Concerning the picture, it's a photomontage notably using this stock picture taken in Itaewon and showing the Namsan tower. A pop-up shop was opened in Seoul, at a location hinted by QR codes. The shop appeared in Naver maps with more details.

A mural was painted in Bushwick, in New York, to promote the album. It's the same neighborhood where Jimin filmed "Closer Than This" (src #1, src #2).

Hey there,

Lollapalooza, like pretty much all festivals and concerts, doesn't have a credit section...

It could have ended here but we're lucky enough to have the j-hope in the Box documentary! I checked the credits and it appears the stage video was made by a Korean group named Motion E&T (they posted on Facebook about Lolla, here, with the details of everyone involved).

They also worked on RM's live in Seoul (check the credits in the video description), on SUGA's Agust D tour 'D-DAY' (FB post), on Jung Kook's GOLDEN Live On Stage (FB post), and probably more.

I found almost nothing else about them sadly but I hope this can already brings you some satisfaction😊💜

The MV was filmed in Hungary., in an abandoned plant, Kelenföldi erőmű, and on the Hungaroring racetrack (src).

The female character is played by Pasha Harulia (Instagram).

Tanu Muiño, the MV director, explained in an Instagram post that the MV is inspired by the story of Romeo and Juliet. Several fans noticed similarities between the MV and the movie Romeo + Juliet. Baz Luhrmann, director of the movie, himself acknowledged the inspiration. You can refer to Lyna's thread for a more complete analysis.

The background is decorated with graffiti and posters referencing both Romeo + Juliet and the lyrics.

Several artificial details seem to hint the beach scene are a virtual reality created by the animator character we already saw in "Rainy Days" (cr.).

We notably have Yeontan's face in the trees (cr. #1, cr. #2), all the people being replaced by V on the polaroid (cr.), as well as a constellation made of the swimmers and representing a dancing couple (cr.).

The snails and jellyfishes we see throughout the video tell the same story : we have references in V's workroom, virtual templates on the TV and the actual rendition in the summer scenes.

Bangtan Greenhouse identified the flowers eaten by Quique (daisies, possibly chamomile) (Quique mentioned in an Insta story that he was called "flower-eating guy" in the script) as well as the ones in V's workroom (peace lily).

The scenes on the sailboat were filmed in the bay of Palma, aboard the Rafael Verdera, Spain's oldest functioning boat (website).

V is the seventh member to have a solo release. The creation of the whole album featured Min Heejin (src). She explained she wanted to keep things simple to better show V's splendor (src).

There are also several appearances from Yeontan, V's pomeranian. Note however that he was replaced by another dog in "Rainy Days" MV because V couldn't take him to Spain (src). The dog in question is named Rocky and has an Instagram.

On the pre-order notice, we have a glimpse of a handwritten letter from V. Lyssy translated it here.

An exclusive photocard was featured if you bought the album at Barnes and Noble (src). The back shows the songs, not in the album order but in the release order (cr.). Another photocard shows a fake tickets with easter eggs like V's birthday (December, 30) or the release date of Layover (September 8, 2023) (src).

Bangtan Greenhouse made threads identifying the plants appearing in the pictures: plants in Photo 1, plants in Photo 2.

Concerning the two car posters, they show the custom Porsche 911SC made by Denny Kahler in 1987 (src) and a Ferrari Testarossa from 1984.

In this picture, V also wears an outfit reminding of Angus Young, the guitarist of AC/DC. The fact he has a guitar in one of the pictures accentuates the nod.

Most pictures were taken between Yeonnam-dong and Yeonhui-dong, in the northwest of Seoul. They notably went to the shop 사운즈굿 (SOUNDS GOOD STORE, they posted on Instagram) (src #1), to 매덕스피자 (Maddux Pizza) (src #1), to 미도파 (Midopa coffee house) (src #1, src #2, src #3, src #4), a cafe that was holding an exposition titled Videorama during the shooting (see their Instagram post) and to 피프에스프레소바 (Pfiff Espresso Bar).

The picture taken in the middle of a street in the second series was snapped here (src). As for the next one, it was taken nearby and there's another one taken two steps away, right in front of the gas station. And the two pictures with a vegetal background were taken on the street behind (here (src) and here). Please refer to this Google map (Chapter 2 > Layover's concept photo), for the location of these different places.

Thanks to the testimony of the owners and based on V's outfit, @jellda0 managed to reconstitute the path the team may have followed during the shooting.

The MV was filmed in the penthouse of the Torres Blancas in Madrid (src).

The video starts with the following text:

When you listen really carefully Loops go wheeling Cozy and stuck,

The birds fly in a V formation but backward to what they would do naturally (the point of the V is supposed to be at the front, not the opposite, though it can happen as a transitory thing). Several people interpreted it in relation to the lyrics about being stuck in the past.

The cartoon we see at 1:33 is an episode from Mighty Mouse titled "Wolf! Wolf!", released in the 1940s. A lamb is tricked into a wolf's den by following jazz music, reminding of the Pied Piper of Hamelin story.

The next extract shows a red fox cub from a European documentary released in the 1970s (and now available as a stock video on Shutterstock).

Lastly, the blooming rose comes from this stock video.

All the videos show symbols reminding The Little Prince (cr.). The Little Prince asks the narrator to draw a lamb, he becomes friends with a fox and he loves a rose. You can check @JKs_Waist's thread on Twitter for more details.

Several hints show V is an animator and his flat is his studio. @ halogen_803 made a great thread about it.

V uses a baguette to paint. On the left, you can notice a rotating picture that seems to come from the concept photo.

BTS 2023 Festa

The Festa is the celebration of BTS’ debut on 13 June 2013. It takes place in the first half of June, with something being released almost every day. There are usually dance practices, songs, photo albums, and members’ profiles.

Here's the official page and the timeline for the 2023 Festa:

As usual, the poster features a lot of nods to the group. You can find the number 7 in a lot of places: the sum of the points on each dice (4+2+1), the pile of pink cards, the number of gifts on the board, the number of gifts outside the board, and the number of poles. There are two pawns with an ARMY logo and one with a BTS logo. This last one is on the June 13 case, namely the group's birthday. And purple is the dominant color.

"Take Two" and BTS PRESENTS EVERYWHERE announcements

BTS PRESENTS EVERYWHERE is a massive collaboration between Hybe and several brands to provide ARMY with BTS-themed merch and billboards. You can find more information in the notices about the Partner Event Guide and the Seoul landmarks. It notably included a JEJU Air airplane decorated with BTS pictures.

TikToks of each member were also released.

BTS '아포방포10' Project

Just like fans used to do for the members' birthdays, BTS rented billboards in several places to celebrate the love between them and ARMY, notably using the classic 아포방포 abbreviation (ApPoBangPo/AFoBangFo for Army Forever Bangtan Forever). You can find pictures of those billboards by clicking on the BTS globe on the official page and on the #아포방포10Project hashtag.

This song is the second collaboration between SUGA/Agust D and IU, after “eight(에잇) (Prod.&Feat. SUGA of BTS)” released in May 2020.

The MV was filmed at South Cape (cr. btsmap1). They used one of the cliff houses for the part in the home and the music library for the part in the studio. During this first part, you can notice decorative fake books and a Danish springy-toy called Hoptimist (src). Thanks to Instagram stories from Nam Hyunwoo and the brand Entre d’eux, we know some of their products were in the bathroom: the nkumba flos or the verte grez hand wash as well as the bitter vitae hand cream.

The black dog appearing in the MV is Nam Hyunwoo’s, the director of photography who’s been working on pretty much every BTS MVs and CFs. Nam himself did a cameo in “The Astronaut” MV.

A Danish ARMY also caught sight of an Hoptimist, a little springy-toy designed by Danish designer Gustav Ehrenreich in 1968 (src).

The film starts with a calendar from 2016, moving from January to August, passing July twice. The first Agust D mixtape was released on the 16 August, 2016.

The following part mixes extracts of the previous videos so “Agust D” MV, “give it to me” MV and “Daechwita” MV. There are also new elements that seems to relate to D-DAY, including a recorder, birds, dollar bills, and an eye. The video also connects the three human shapes to an MV:

The MV was filmed in Bangkok, notably in a place known as the thieves' market (src). The street scenes were filmed here (src), the hideout of criminal Agust D was here and the tangerine scene happened in a nearby street.

The team also used popular filming locations, namely this deserted building (src) already seen in Jeff Satur’s “Dum Dum” MV and in the Hidden messages video teasing Kinneporsche, as well as the sports complex Nightingale Rama Inthra Club (src) famous for being a shooting location of F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers. Director Lumpens shared his storyboard for the video on Instagram. MU:E did too (#1, #2, #3).

The dragon on SUGA's jacket is a symbol of royalty in Korea (src). It could a nod to "Daechwita" MV. Be it in the MV or in the choreography, SUGA is accompanied by 6 extra, reminding of the 6 other members of BTS.

Nam Hyunwoo, director of photography for all BTS MVs and some CFs, makes a cameo as a policeman in the background.

Thanks to the Episode, we know the video features the book The Logo Design Idea Book by Gail Andersen and Steven Heller, the issue 39 of Magazine B titled “Breville”, and the frontpage of two international editions of The New York Times, the one from the 17th of May 2022 and the other from the 16th of May 2022.

 As for the filming location, it was at the basketball court of the Juam-dong Sports Park and in a street nearby.

@btswingsjm7 noticed that one of the shirt Agust D wears is from Ludovic de Saint Sernin’s collection, about the duality between one’s self image and the public preconceptions..

During the scene in front of the 202 flat, we can see custom-made flyers with phone numbers that mix the digits of SUGA’s birthday (9th March, 1993). The flyers on the door advertise delivery for Korean chicken, food and Hit Shopping products, with special promotions for Chuseok (Hit Shopping could be a nod to Big Hit). The flyer on the whole is for internet contracts and the one below is for a washing service. Concerning the little stickers they’re all locksmiths’ name and phone number.

According to the notice, “This photobook created based on Jimin’s own ideas, unveils different moods Jimin creates from the same costumes, the strength Jimin has discovered in himself, the meaning of light in his confusing consciousness, the moment Jimin’s inner self and persona finally met and his chaotic and finally, an immature journey to finding the true “me”.”

Jimin explained that the theme of the book is persona and that his white outfit aims to show his raw self.

On the “Color ; Freedom” set, you can spot an Apollo Belvedere head. One already appeared during the “Blood, Sweat & tears” performance at M Countdown on the 13th of October 2016 (so Jimin’s birthday).

On the “Black ; Come face to face” set, it’s a Diana of Versailles bust that was broken and reassembled with the kintsugi technique (an unbroken one was seen in the WINGS Short Film #7 AWAKE).

For the “White ; Intactly” part, Jimin and all the mannequins wear masks reminding of the Jackalope, a mythical jackrabbit with antelope horns.

This book was not released for the group’s birthday (namely June 13) but on the 11th of January 2023 so the 3500th day since BTS debuted.

According to the notice, “this photo-folio is a quintessentially BTS collection that brings together the seven members’ ideas and catalogs their memories together as a group. This photo-folio is a visualization of the past and the present of BTS!”

They filmed the K-retro Sports Day part at the now closed 지평초등학교-일신분교장터 (Jipyeong Elementary School-Ilshin Branch Market, it seems to have been renovated to be turned into a camping site and a filming location).

Here’s a translation of what’s written on the blackboard. The boys added things such as “RM”, “BTS”, “ARMY”, “I love you” and “BTS ♡ ARMY”:

The Self Camera theme slightly reminds of the VCRs for 花樣年華 on Stage: Epilogue while the K-retro Sports Day theme is similar to the concept they had for the 2017 Season’s Greetings.As for the part in the photobooth, a similar scene happens in “RUN” but the hat and scarf they wear is actually a nod to what Jin, j-hope and V wore during the 3rd muster while they performed chipmunk versions of their songs.

According to the notice, “based on j-hope’s idea, ‘All New Hope’ was created focusing on an ambiguous interpretation of meeting a new hope and shedding light on the unseen aspects of j-hope.Through the contrast between light and dark, it embodies a fragile, risky existence breaking away from himself and being reborn as an irreplaceably strong existence after meeting a new hope.”

It seems the photoshoot happened at the same place where they filmed “Permission to Dance” (src btsmap1 Insta story) in Eurwang-dong

According to the notice, “SUGA of BTS living a glamorous life on stage. The time arranged for SUGA, who believes the best moment he could go back to being no one other than his whole self as Min Yoongi is when he’s out camping on his own.A camping trip to enjoy freedom in nature away from everyday life. A journey in search of his whole self in vast nature. A comfortable time at his haven filled with things he likes. Plus, SUGA’s on/off the record pictures he took by himself with a film camera! Find and see SUGA in the way he wanted to express himself.”

Some of the pictures were taken at Lone Pine in California (src btsmap1, see the “Yoongi, California” on this map for detailed locations), notably here (cover) and here (Hint skit at 0:08).

SUGA drives a white Land Rover Defender 90 V8 from the early 1990s with a “SUGA 13-0613″ plate, a nod to the group’s debut date. His co-star is a dog named Shelby.

j-hope and J. Cole

The song features J. Cole, the artist behind “Born Sinner”, the song that inspired “Born Singer”. There’s another hommage to him through the Billboard cover featuring him in the music shop in the WINGS Short Film #4 FIRST LOVE (it’s only visible in BEGIN and LIE though).

He’s a big influence for j-hope. Hobi referenced him on several occasions like in “힙합성애자 (Hip Hop Lover)“:

Cole World is J. Cole first studio album. And it’s the inspiration behind the title of j-hope’s first mixtape, Hope World.

The two of them met during the 2022 Lollapalooza Festival, where j-hope performed after releasing Jack In The Box.

Based on an Instagram story posted by the director Lumpens, it was noticed the beginning of the MV must be a nod to the MV for J. Cole’s “Simba” (src). The two videos were also shot in the same area with “Simba” basically ending where “On the street” begins:

You can spot a memorial at the beginning while the camera pans from one direction to the other. Based on the episode, it's a nod to a situation in the street where people "say goodbye because of unavoidable situations".

You only see them in the Episode but they are several custom made posters in the subway.

When j-hope exits the subway, you can see a poster (cr.) from a campaign for Adopt Us Kids, promoting adoption from foster care. It’s similar to the poster on this page but with a different citation: “We thought our Family was complete - we’re so happy to have been wrong”.

He also walks next to a billboard advertising Raye’s My 21st Century Blues, an album released the same day as “on the street”. She tweeted about it.

During the scenes on the rooftop, there a billboard in the background with “It’s my call” written on it. On the bottom left, a car similar to the on in “Chicken Noodle Soup” MV, with a chicken’s head on the rooftop can be seen. The sentence isn’t in either songs’ lyrics but there is a “Bring it back to this place called home (baby)” in “Chicken Noodle Soup”. Fans have also interpreted it as j-hope’s decision to do his military enlistment. In the Episode, you can see it’s actually an ad for Two Trees Management, offering offices in Dumbo.

As for the other billboard, that’s on the far left, it’s an ad for Ulla Johnson.

Filming locations

The scenes featuring J. Cole were filmed on the rooftop of a building in New York, here, next to the Manhattan bridge.

The photos and the beginning of the MV were shot in Cortland Alley.

Then they moved to the closed platform of Bowery subway station.

And j-hope left from this exit.

Next, we’re back to the South of Lower Manhattan, in Walker street this time.
