hey y’all. I haven’t been involved in the writeblr community in a while because my whole life has been nothing but waitressing, writing and drowning in an ocean of anxiety -- but guess WHAT! the final draft of my novel is almost complete after almost four years of writing it and I’m about to start querying. I’m gonna cry a river of tears.

also if anyone ever wants to read an urban fantasy involving vampire slayers, gentrification and surreal humor, I’m ya girl

In my opinion, everyone in the US with student debt should stop paying it. What are they gonna do if millions of people default on their loans? If everyone has bad credit, nobody has bad credit.

I also think people should stop attending colleges where the tuition is astronomical. Go to public and community colleges.

The way I see it, America will eventually have the choice between forgiving student debt or facing the massive destabilization caused by an entire generation being unable to build any wealth.

By destabilization I mean that the millennial generation will eventually become aware of the fact that they will be enslaved by their student debt for most of, if not their entire lives.

Many in this generation still had parents that were able to save and contribute financially to their children’s college education, but that’s also going to be a thing of the past when everyone has their own debt burden to carry well into adulthood - meaning the problem will become unimaginably worse for the next generation.

Once people realize this, you’ve got a social powder keg unheard of since the social question poised by the industrial revolution.

The entire student loan system is little more than a scheme meant to extract every last bit of present and future wealth from society’s youngest members, and the longer it continues, the uglier its inevitable end is going to be.

I feel you @harmonytarrant I hate how they shove unnecessary math into everything. What the fuck does math have to do with English? Besides colleges wanting to make money off you. I'm a history major who's been avoiding my required math classes for years. The accommodations really are bullshit. Like, extra time on the test won't make me not have a disability lol. People with dyscalculia should be exempt from taking math courses in certain fields, tbh, that would be a true accommodation.

It's also bullshit how you have to get retested and re-diagnosed every four years or so in order to get benefits and accommodations. Like, yeah, okay...learning disabilities are permanent neurological conditions but I'm sure it disappeared since the last time I paid $90 to get tested!
