Guys … what if we made art of these politicians having gay sex and being trans… you know what if we made art where the whole joke is someone who I don’t like is gay and trans. I’m so progressive they should give me a medal

just kind of wild to me that ppl will see something that says ā€œhey trying to ban trans ppl from the military is bad bc it’s a blatant attempt to codify the legal exclusion of trans ppl into the law of the land in the usā€ and go ā€œclearly this person is deepthroating an automatic rifle and is sobbing and shitting and crying bc they can’t join the military. psh. shitlib.ā€

Minnesota Representative, Hortman and her husband were killed in what is believed to be a targeted act of political violence last night and Senator Hoffman and his wife weren shot multiple times by a man impersonating law enforcement. As of this time Hoffman and his wife are out of surgery and alive.
There’s a live statement ongoing.
If you’re local to these affected areas and someone claiming to be police come to your door, it is advisable to dial 911 and confirm with dispatch that they are legitimate officers and not the impersonator.
I don’t know if it’s still happening but Brooklyn police were reported to be moving in pairs to avoid being confused for the impersonator who is as far as we are aware, alone.
Please, please, please if you are going to the protests across Minnesota today, be extra careful of anyone in uniform. Cops are already not our friends, but this is an added layer of unpredictable violence.

How come you're all about "feminism" until it's time to protest? We haven't seen you make a single fucking post about the LA riots and it's really disappointing.
Hi friends. This is your reminder not to reply to questions like this. You do not need to self-report your behavior. This is a guilt trip designed to make you violate your own Miranda rights.
Also, they are not riots (Freudian slip, fed?), they're peaceful protests and are a democratic right under the first amendment.
where to find your local protest donate to legal funds my local immigrant support network
be safe out there, i love you.

I think every lesbian who says she wouldn't date a bi woman is functionally on the same wavelength as men who say they would only marry a virgin

Being an adult means sharing space with assholes. There's gonna be shit you need to do, and the only way to get it is by working with one or more huge assholes. They're not evil. They're not gonna hurt you. Usually they're not even bad people, they're just assholes. And you gotta know how to share space with em.

Kabru did not risk his life trying to murder-suicide a cop for the greater good of humanity at large and Laios Touden in particular for you all to call him a hater.

And if you have claimed online to know someone at the protests, and you are questioned about it, you were lying for clout. You Were Lying. You were lying for attention.
HEY
so if you know someone who went to the LA protests today no you don't actually! All of those people have no identity. You've never been to a protest, you've never seen someone at one, and you certainly have never known the names or faces of any individuals associated with the protests.

i can back this up as someone from a different country than op. i sign fewer forms to give blood than to take HRT. my first HRT appointment, i signed five different documents. when i give blood, i sign two or three.
the thing is that informed consent is lacking for a lot of medical processes. they don’t always give you full and complete information. they try and bias you against wanting some things and towards wanting others. they don’t always translate medical forms into plain english and they don’t always trust individuals to make their own choices
but out of all the medical processes I’ve been through? getting HRT was the most rigorous, and I live in a place that uses an informed consent model. they’ve given me opioids with less information attached than what I had to read before going on T. so I really don’t get how people get off saying that HRT is this magical thing that anyone can get their hands on whenever and wherever. lol

i get that americans love their cultural imperialism, but it really does piss me off that june is ā€œinternationalā€ pride month just because something happened in the united states.
in aotearoa, june isn’t our pride, it’s theirs. martha p johnson and sylvia rivera are their historical figures, not ours. the phrase that ā€œyou owe your rights to Black trans womenā€ is true there, but here we owe our rights to (mostly) Māori historical figures. i have the freedoms i do because of the legacy of an entirely different set of people operating in an entirely different context at entirely different times.
But because of american cultural imperialism, most queer people in Aotearoa don’t even know our own queer history. Carmen Rupe, Ngahuia Te Awekotuku, the Dorian Society, Gillian Laundon, Georgina Beyer, and the Wolfenden Association are some of our queer history. We should know their names! we should know what they did for us! but because of the power of the american imperial machine, we don’t.
our national pride month should be july, the month that the Homosexual Law Reform Act passed in 1989. our two largest cities hold their pride festivals in february and march, respectively. american queer history has very little (or nothing, depending on who you ask) to do with our queer history. anecdotally, from my own queries, queer youth in aotearoa know more about american queer history than our own.
anyway, happy pride, americans. i’m truly sorry that most of you don’t see the negative impact your nation’s culture has on the rest of the world. and to the rest of the world reading this, try searching for your own country and culture’s queer history, don’t accept the american narratives as your own. we deserve our own histories divorced from the cultural hegemony of the USA.
