I'll do you one better

My thinking: sims don't have to use soap when they wash their hands, or shampoo, or anything to clean dirty counters and tubs. So why use a detergent and make one game feature disproportionally more detailed than other similar features?

So, how about this idea..

Sims use cleaning and toiletry supplies for everything related to washing, cleaning, and personal hygiene!

Hear me out, this is how it's gonna work

You buy special items like soap and place them around the house like you would place bathroom clutter. Every time sims clean something or bathe, they subtract points from a nearby product if there are any. Once a bottle/box is used up, it disappears and notifies you if it was the last one.

While most interactions are still available even without supplies, having and not having them has advantages and penalties.

House cleaning takes longer without supplies and goes faster with them.

Same goes for bathing, with a difference: there's limit to how clean sims and pets can get with water alone.

(Yes, I have been writing the description, crazy stuff!)

Affected Interactions

So, there are two major groups of products: for house cleaning and for body care. They are mostly separate, but some things like regular soap can be used in both cases.

House Cleaning (think dish liquid, detergent, cleaner spray, washing powder, soap)

When I came across these beautiful aspiration based diary defaults created by @episims with @midgethetree's mods, I immediately knew I wanted to make a set that matched my game's aesthetic!

I made textures to match my preferred funky and nostalgic aesthetic, complete with a (decorative) diary lock and unique written pages!

You'll still need Midge's Re-Enabled Diary Textures mod to begin with, and Midge's Aspiration-Based Diaries mod, which can be found inside Epi's Diary Default Replacements' download folder. My download only contains the recolors I've made, so you need to download both linked mods first, or my textures will NOT show up in your game. That means you need midgethetree_aspirationdiaries and midgethetree_reenableddiarycovers.

NetworkMAT: Streets of 2morrow

SUMMARY The Network Materials (NetworkMAT) (Simmons, 2023) series includes assets for building modern road networks in Sims 2. Use these items to enhance your city’s streets, walkways, highways, skyways, bridges, and so on.

Streets of 2morrow (Simmons, 2022-2023) adds intricate, modern road networks to your game with a look inspired by SimCity: Cities of Tomorrow (EA, 2013). It includes winter-ready road replacements, 40+ road overlays, and 130+ modular floor tiles. The road defaults contain no visible grass/dirt, so they’ll work with all terrains. Road overlays come with several recolors for a variety of projects, including bike lanes and narrow roads.

DETAILS Requires ALL EPs/SPs. Blue, gold, white, and A/B tiles should be used together respectively. There are left- and top-aligned versions to maintain the hex pattern across all tiles. Some corner tile seams will be visible - this is a default game quirk - but they’re hardly noticeable when used with other tiles.

No new driveway recolors are included. To create matching driveways, combine the floor tiles with invisible driveway/extension objects such as these by RoddyAeixo (2006).

When in lot view, the neighborhood roads at the edges of the lot appear darker. This is another default quirk, but they match perfectly in hood view.

Since there are no grass/dirt medians, you’ll need to move the mailbox, trashcan, and/or phone booth at least two tiles from the front of the lot.

last night (it's now morning in Spain) Tumblr decided to delete my account... for no reason, everything just disappeared, I try to log in but I get a message like there's an error, don't worry, so I think it's an error, several messages that it is an error blah blah, when I tried to change the password... bingo... it tells me that my account has been deleted... and when I search for it on Google... nothing exists... now I really am a ghost... I have complained to Tumblr, I hope they give me a solution soon, it is a shame that everything has been deleted

Hedges Shrubs for The Sims 2

This is a 4to2conversion from TheJim07, low poly. These shrubs are slaved to the original game ones, so you have recolors for them, they will show up for these shrubs too :) They also have the "overgrowth" state.

I love how in ts2 they autonumously use crosswalks if your lot happens to have road intersection(s). But I couldn't use any floor tiles under a deafult road replacement with a lot overlay even though I still wanted the used crosswalk to be visible. Figured a rug could work 🫢

They are 1x2 and 2x3 rugs of Maxis/EAxis "box stripes" and "zebra" crosswalks. All three come in gray, white and yellow.

The files were compressionized, pick and choose any you'd like from the zip 👆

⚠️ Note: after snow, in winter, it will always become solid white regardless of the color because it's recognized as 3D object.

Requires Apartment Life and Pets since the rugs are from there!

Have you always wanted to build on small 1X1 lots? Or have a smaller sized beach lot for your surfer shack? Well, now you can! I have done all the Lot-Adjusting work for you.

These lots were made with the UC installed. If you don't have all the EPs/SPs (or at least AL/M&G as your highest one,) then, you probably can't use these! (I provided links for similar "empty lot" collections - some of them don't need all EP/SPs.)

ALL possible lot sizes are included (within the game's original size limit of 6X6) - including Beach lots.

These are all perfectly flat lots (well, all except for the beach lots...)

The Sun is oriented to the front of the lot.

These were made on Lush Terrain, but whatever terrain you put them down on (Desert, Dirt, Lush, or Cement) the game will change the lot's "base terrain" to match.

Lots are shrunk/expanded with Moo's Lot-Adjuster

Lots are cleaned/compressed with Chris Hatch's Lot Compressor.

DETAILS Requires all EPs/SPs. Frames are reposited to the BB_Niche1_Master (BuggyBooz, 2012) and glass parts are reposited to the Plain Glass TXTR Repository for glass recolors. Both are included in the Repository Pack (Simmons, 2023). Additional frame/glass recolors are available here under the #ts2recolors tag. The base of the item is sunken into the ground, so this item will work on unlevel ground as well. In some cases (not all), placing items over neighborhood roads may cause the road texture to “bleed” through the glass texture in hood view or when viewed from a neighboring lot. Also, if you place the objects close to the edge of the lot, zooming out may expose the sunken parts of the mesh - I believe this is a default game quirk since it happens with water/items on maxis lots as well.
