IM SO TIRED OF PEOPLE SAYING THAT JEREMIAH IS “EASY” AND WHY WOULD SOMEONE WANT A LOVE THAT’S “COMPLICATED”!! like tell me you didn’t read the books without telling me you didn’t read the books. the whole third book is belly struggling to be with jeremiah because they are fundamentally different people (lacie barone situation aside). its shown when conrad knows to get her sour patch kids and jere gets her swedish fish. jere and belly together are not easy either, jere gets so frustrated over such little things. and that’s the whole point. and that’s why it’s years before conrad and belly actually end up together after jere and belly dont get married. why they are friends who just send each other mail for years. yes its “toxic” now because they are TEENAGERS!!! like jesus christ yall its also not that deep and frankly i dont think its romanticizing anything. its dramatized yeah, but like its three teenagers dealing with love and grief like please get a grip

anyways one thing about me is that i will defend conrad fisher with my life

like yeah conrad isnt ready to be with belly. he was grappling with his mom dying and his dad’s never ending pressure of being “the oldest”. on top of trying to understand why hes suddenly having these feelings for someone he considered a sister. thats literally the whole point of having three books. and why they didnt even officially get together until the epilogue.

and i love jeremiah to death, but to me in the books, it was never a competition. it always seemed to me like belly always knew it was conrad but figured she could love jeremiah deeply anyways.

and when laurel’s storyline through the second season is that shes struggling to write her book and she doesnt know what to write about because of her overwhelming grief and the season ends with her telling the kids that she’s going to write about susannah, her best friend in the world.

and when the season 3 storyline is laurel thinking back on their friendship while writing, helping her get through the emotions of belly getting married despite her objections. and when her storyline wraps up with the boys being able to read the transcript right before the wedding is supposed to take place.

serious post: very glad jenny is like elongating the plot because book 2 happened in less than a week and its very refreshing that like we have been seeing things between bonrad play out but we still havent gotten to the part where jere and belly get back together. im actually super interested to see how the conflict plays out now that its an aunt selling the house and not adam fisher. although, when i knew tsitp was being turned into a series i really most looked forward to the scenes at the end with belly begging laurel for help to save the house being brought to life
