Hi, I've been inspired to really start trying to improve my drawing skills, but I don't know where to start. I draw everyday, but how do you really start to drastically improve your skills at a faster rate, Im very overwhelmed on what to do and where to start. I don't just want to constantly draw whatever I feel like, I want to refine my skills and improve in all areas. What is your advice for improving art skills, such as drawings hands and anatomy and becoming better at gesture?
Heyyo!
So, I feel like I go on about this, but it’s just because it’s the best way I know how: draw with intention. That means, essentially, that the act of simply drawing isn’t enough for huge growth (though honestly, it does lead to some growth by pure fact of mileage). If you’re looking to make faster and more drastic strides, it means drawing intentionally. Designing, while being wonderful and expressive and creative, is actually this enormously thoughtful process. Good design is problem solving - it’s thinking about what’s being communicated in a piece and what goes into that communication. Likewise, getting those foundational basics under your belt also requires problem solving.
I had the opportunity once again after koji (https://vimeo.com/191512166) to work with the amazing talents of wolfbat studio for a batman short project. If you like what you see you can help the project here : https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-vinok-s-apatite-animation#/
My little participaton for a Doritos commercial with the fabulous people from THE LINE ANIMATION. Lot of characters to animate on this one, but pretty fun to do!
