No gods Ian Curtis
I'm seeing a lot of acknowledgment of Ian Curtis's death anniversry.. Coincidentally the anniversary of the Mt Saint Helens eruption as well. I loved Joy division as a youth and they still hold a place for me but let's be honest about our icons, Ian Curtis was kind of a douchebag filandering cheating whining wife abandoning premadonna . We can appreciate without romanticizing and beatifying. Most artists are terribly flawed social beings, I understand that..I am that, but making god products out of their memory does a disservice to their body of work and is disrespectful of the other lives that were affected by them. #iancurtis
