As soon as someone tells me, someone has a crush on me,

all of a sudden I'm 11 years old, standing in the half-empty hallways of primary school for which i hear those faint giggles in the distance and look at my classmates' grinning expressions, where i feel the strong urge to just run away but i freeze, only being able to crack a tremulous fake smile and then automatically come to the common conclusion that:

someone dared them to do so or it's infact a "practical joke".

The feeling is suddenly more worse when you remember that as a child you had received a few to no compliments at all whilst growing up or even at those stupid family reunions that you just HAVE TO attend, with those nosey aunties and snobby cousins that you end up having to babysit the entire time.

So to all the guys that confessed to me purely because they actually liked me,

I'm truly sorry for how I responded to the confession cuz now that i realise what I did, i feel like taking vegetable peeler to my skin, but blame the harrowing "joke" of confessions I received in primary school.
