"You can stay here as long as you want." he said as you kept looking at your bloodied hand.

"You're helping me.", you stated the obvious. After bringing you to a safe house, Villain didn't say anything for hours. He just stood there, watching. Observing. Paying attention to you. "Why?", you asked finally.

He knew the village would turn their backs on you at some point. He warned you about it, but you still chose to go back. To try saving them.

Now you had your own blood in your hands.

"You had to see it by yourself who they are. You needed to be sure. I get it.", he reached for your hand and started to clean it and patch you up. "You suffered enough, kid. Let yourself be cared for. Even if it's by me."

"You think you have to be all dom and violent to get what you want because no one ever gave you anything for free, but not everyone is like that."

"Look at your pretty little civilization, Hero. Look what they've done to your home. Do you still believe in humanity?"

"They say don't meet your heroes, but I see you, right in front of me, and I like what I see so far."

"Your optimism pisses me off! Why everything gotta have a bright side with you? I fucking hate it!"

"I'm not asking you to like it, Villain. It's how I am, and I'm not changing now. I've seen so many things in my life, the monsters can be and what they can do to people."

"Why be so optimistic then? Are you that hypocrite?"

"I don't think I am. But I've also seen the good people can do. They can be good, so I chose to believe that. I see good in you too. Does that make me a hypocrite?"

"Do you have any idea how many times I've died trying to save you? You have any fucking clue how many ways there is to die?! They put me through so much shit and I took it like a big fucking boy, all because I thought I was sparing you. And yet, here you are, saving these idiots that want you dead!"

"I never had a chance, did I? Was I even considered when you decided this?!"

"Why haven't you?"

"I don't know.. I guess I'm so used to keep going.. so used to trying to save the day.. I don't even know what giving up really takes."

"It feels like you're doing something wrong in the beginning.", Villain confesses. "Like without you the world will explode at any minute and the fault is only yours."

"How do you know? What is like."

"I just know. Trust me."

"You said that's what it's gonna feel at first. What happens next?"

"Then, after some time seeing the world still fucking spins without you, you're gonna see that the guilt you felt for giving up wasn't fair to yourself. Cause if the world explodes is because someone started it and that someone is probably not feeling any ounce of guilt. So why should you? If a fireman sees a whole house burning but is just him with no buckets and no water: should he feel guilt for not stopping the fire? Should he throw himself in the fire to try putting it down? Should he spit in the fire until he's finally satisfied that nothing he could do could make it better? Why the fuck should he feel guilty? He didn't set the house on fire. And why should you feel guilty for letting these people down? You don't own them nothing. Let them burn."

"It was your choice to save them!", Villain complained while following Hero inside the building to rescue the rest of civilians.

"So what, I should leave them to die?!"

"YES!"

"YOU CHANGED MY BEDSHEETS?"

"hm... yeah?"

"YOURE MY FUCKING NEMESIS! I LITERALLY SHOT YOU YESTERDAY AND WEREN'T YOU IN CHAINS WHEN I LEFT YOU THIS MORNING?!"

"Also true. What's your point?"

"I've given you now 5 chances for you to rethink the way you're speaking to me. I won't give you any more chances. The next stupid fucking thing that comes out of your mouth will be your last."

"No. This can't be their hell! It can't be their punishment!", Hero yelled in despair. This was wrong. It was all wrong.

"Why not?", said the Villain, afraid of getting any closer.

"Because if this is their punishment, why am I being punished, too? This is supposed to be their time to pay... why am I the one who's in pain?"

"I'm like a cockroach. You step on me. Think I'm dead. Throws me away. But I'm alive, you son a bitch."

"Well... that's not I what had in mind when you said you wanted to confess your love to me. But I'll take it."
