For the fic ask game, 7, 13, and/or 21!

7. Longest completed fic you wrote this year: "Anything You Ask" at almost 6k! Annette shows up at Castle Fraldarius during the time-skip after hearing rumors that Felix is engaged. After not-so-stealthily admitting she's in love with him, they come up with a plan to get him out of it (it's not a good plan).

I'm still so amazed I finished that in time for Netteflix week - I think I just blacked out and wrote 😟 It was also the product of a twitter poll and I love when my friends get to help me choose things to write 😄

13. Favorite writing song/artist/album of this year: It's Noah Kahan, man. People that follow me on twitter probably already know I don't shut up about him 😅 I think I have 4 in 2023 alone that are titled after his stuff.

Closely followed up by Hozier and Taylor Swift because both of them inspire a lot of fics/scenes.

21. Most memorable comment/review: Every time I get a comment from an artist or writer I seriously admire (even if we're mutuals) I just think wow, I am so lucky to be here I can't believe such talented people like my stuff.

But one I got recently that meant a lot was on my Mariashe story. They had a lot of nice things to say about the pacing and structure of the story. I think it being a comment on a rarepair fic which, because it's rare, doesn't get a lot of traffic, mixed with the compliments on something I often struggle with and am trying to actively improve in this specific story really just made me happy 🥰

3. Favorite line/scene you wrote this year: My favorite line I wrote was "The new swell of shame that bubbled in her was only tapered by the warmth of his smile; a smile so rare and precious that it rivaled the painted hues of the sun setting behind them." from Forget-Me-Not. My favorite Scene in general was the first-kiss scene in Crown of Lilies 🙃 I think it captures Marianne pretty well and they're just so cute!

14. A fic you didn’t expect to write: "Stuck in the Ruins with You". I literally just saw this fanart one day and was like "they need to be stuck in a box together" and wrote it in less than a week. It's very silly and I'm quite proud of it!

23. Fics you wanted to write but didn’t: literally every one of my WIPs 😂 Specifically though, I had really been hoping to publish my Sylvain and Annette arranged marriage fic this year but other things got in the way. Maybe next year!

12. I've really enjoyed writing Ashe this year! While my Mariashe story is technically in Marianne's perspective, I've had a really fun time exploring Ashe's character after the events of the game and I've kind of fallen in love with him! He's great!

17. Speak of the devil, next year I'll be finishing up "A Crown of Lillies in Her Hair" and, as always, chipping away at "When the Music Stops". I also have some other multi-chapters I hope I can start posting next year! (As you've already seen from my insane list of WIPs on twitter 😂)

1 for the fic ask game!

I'm going to cheat and do 2 😂 (because one was technically started in 2022 so idk if that officially counts)

My favorite overall is "Forget-Me-Not", an 8 chapter Netteflix amnesia AU I started in 2022 and finished this past March. AUs have never really been my thing, but this opened my eyes to the possibility of what they could be when I usually didn't think to write them. I feel like this story was my favorite to write and also just opened my mind to the possibilities of what I could write which is always fun!

Speaking of stepping out of my comfort zone, my favorite stand-alone fic was "A Matchmaking Game of Sorts", a story about Mercedes, Marianne and Linhardt taking bets on which of their friends were going to get together in those over-dramatic, confess-your-love-at-the-hospital-bedside scenes. I wanted to play around with the idea that those fics (which I LOVE btw) all happened in one universe and, while it's such an important moment for the couples, the people working in the hospital tents were just getting irritated by all of it. A sort of "can you please stop making out and let me take this arrow out of your shoulder, for the love of god!" kind of vibe.
