FAQ
Hello everyone! I’m Mod Linnea, and I created and run this blog in order for me to reconnect to the lgbt+, and mainly Bi, community! This is a safe space. I didn’t expect it to get as many followers as it did and felt a bit overwhelmed with all the asks I would get. So, I had my real life bi friend come on and join me, she is Mod Beatrice. These are some frequently asked questions we receive so check before you send an ask! If you want an ask answered privately or by a specific mod just let us know in the ask you send and we’ll make it happen!
If you would like to find my main blog it is @sleepy-inc ! Happy scrolling everyone!
Am I Bi?
This is a common question in our inbox, and a tough question to answer, usually followed with a bit of context (i.e.. I like boys and sometimes like girls, i don’t really feel sexual attraction, etc.) You are bi if you feel romantically attracted to two or more genders. That could be attraction to males, females, or anyone under the non-binary spectrum. It does not have to be a sexual attraction, but it could be. It’s possible you could be biromantic, etc. Remember when it really comes down to it sexuality is a deeply personal thing, and you may need to take some time to search inside yourself and figure it out through a long or short period of time. Keep in mind you do not have to label yourself if you do not want to, but we in the community will always support you.
How do I come out? (jokes, safety, and more!)
Coming out depends on the situation, where you live, how safe it is, things like that. If you would be hurt, or put in danger do not come out. I know its hard, and I know you may really want to, but your safety matters most. Before coming out make sure you have a support system to help you, either a close group of friends or an lgbt+ organization nearby or a larger one, to support you in the worst case scenario. I would suggest perhaps doing it in a semi-public space so they cannot harm you or cause a scene. Often times the hate comes from ignorance, try to educate  the person you are coming out to in subtle ways, trying to change their viewpoint. Remember, your safety matters most. Be smart and be safe. If you ever want to talk or rant feel free to message one of us (the mods) our main blogs can be found if you search #about me in our tags.
If your family/friends are accepting (yay!) and you want to come out in a funny way heres a link to a post about it :) https://bi-culture-is.tumblr.com/post/177470577277/do-you-have-any-funny-ways-of-coming-out-when-i
Do what feels best for you, and welcome to the community!
How do I get in touch with the community?
Try reaching out to any local lgbt+ organizations or even larger scale ones! You can always wear a small bracelet or button as well with the flag on it, try to meet new people in the community and become friends with them, a great place to do that is here or on other social media. You can also read books about it, or show your pride through your art.
Don’t forget to submit your own Bi culture is posts! We love seeing them in the inbox, and if this didn’t help feel free to send an ask anyway and say if you want it answered privately or by a specific mod! We may add more to this post as we get more questions, but I hope what I have has helped you in some way! Much love,
-Mod Linnea

Bi culture is not figuring out you're bi until you're already in a committed hetero relationship and no one actually believes you when you finally open up about your sexuality (because bi erasure 😔)

Are you going to delete your blatant lie or not? It's been a while and its getting embarrassing that a blog focused on bisexuality doesn't even want to acknowledge the actual meaning of the flag
Hello! Unfortunately this link is incorrect and I am unable to find the post you are asking about. Thank you for reaching out! If you are able please send the post to my main blog which you may find under the FAQ, if we have posted something on here in the past that is spreading incorrect or harmful information it was never our intention and we want to take it down immediately. It is never our intention to cause discomfort or pain within the community. This blog was started a very long time ago when I was young and in high school. It is possible that I said something incorrect because I did not know any better.
To clear up any confusion, the pink in the bi flag represents attraction to the same gender, the blue represents attraction to the opposite or different gender of your own, and the purple represents attraction to two or more genders.
