#art is subjective you cannot control how people will perceive it#and I’m always perceiving Luz and hunter drawings with a heavy romantic tone

If you ship Huntceda how come you have Huntlow and Lumity stuff on your blog? (And side note, why do you ship huntceda? I don’t mean any hate, I’m just curious)
Jesus this is such an old ask and I never noticed I’m so sorry
Anyway, just cuz I ship Huntceda doesn’t mean I can’t like other ships that involve Luz and Hunter. I’m a multishipper! Lumity brought me into the show in the first place. I’m meh with Huntlow, but I can still enjoy it sometimes. I sometimes reblog art of other ships since I still want to show the artists support
And why I ship Huntceda? A million reasons at this point, but to keep it simple I just found their dynamic incredibly interesting, and a fresh take among the canon ships (no hate, but aside from Raeda I find them bland now). One of the things about the ship that I find intriguing is their parallel to Caleb and Evelyn — a wild witch (Luz, Evelyn) showing the wonders of magic to a witch hunter (Hunter, Caleb). And via Flapjack too! Thanks to Them really sealed the deal for me and Huntceda occupies a large portion of my mind daily now. I can talk about them for hours.
In the end I’m a “ship and let ship” kind of guy. I don’t care what people ship as long as they mind their own business.

oh no! i thought we grew out of seeing bisexual characters as just homosexual ones but i just saw a fresh post talking about lunter and lumity situtation and how lunter shippers "uses luz's sexuality as an excuse to ship her with a boy and to neglect canon wlw ship"
ffs
gotta love it how it's okay to headcanon seemingly straight characters as bisexuals just to ship them in same-sex relationships. but the moment you ship CANON bisexual character with someone of the opposite sex - it's leSbOfOBiA
noone took away your canon wlw ship buddy, it's well and sound, still canon, has new content, there're tons of people who also love it, not just you against the word. quit this fucking bi-erasure. stop projecting you using luz's sexuality as excuse on people who just simply having fun with figment of imagination and trying to tell you to fuck off in form of "i didn't break any of your stupid rules, i respected canon sexuality of this non-existen character and had fun withing their own imaginary attraction limits, please leave me along"
but i guess it's only okay to ship bisexual characters in opposite-sex relationship if the said relationship is already canon and if their bisexuality is only fandom's headcanon

I’ve seen a lot of role swaps between Luz and Hunter where she’s the grimwalker and he’s the human but what if the only thing that changed was their roles?
What if Hunter was still made by Belos but found out the truth early and ran away? Right into Eda who sees another fugitive from the Emperor’s tyranny (and a cheap source of labour) and takes him in. Hunter’s too panicked to say no to a bird worm security system and doesn’t know what to say when confronted with actual emotional support, the ability to sleep in past 6, and the magic glyphs that start appearing to him a few weeks later.
Whereas Luz is arrested immediately after arriving from the Human realm and brought before Belos. He sees another human after 400 years and feeds Luz exactly what she wants to hear. That she’s in a magical world in desperate need of someone like her. That all the dark and horrible things she sees are the result of wild magic wreaking havoc but he’s been working on a spell to repair the damage. And the fact that she’s appeared just months before the Day of Unity, why, it must be destiny.
He gives her Hunter’s old staff and just like that he has a new Golden Guard.

also reminds me of TOH voice actors condemning lunter lol
I find it ironic when people use voice actors as evidence for their ship.
Sure it can be evidence that a ship is well-liked, or fans might enjoy their takes. But these people aren’t actively involved with writing decisions or have a say in what’s canon. They’re the voice actors, not the spokesperson for the character. Their personal interpretation isn’t gospel.
Even if they did have a say in canon, aren’t these the same fans who say “who cares about the writers opinion, death of the author!”* but when a VA or animator shows support they act like it’s canon confirmation for their ship?
Yes this is about people who use Toks’ support for Jvk as an argument against Meljay.
Isn’t hypocritical to say the opinions of the shows creator doesn’t invalidate Jvk** then turn around and use a VA’s opinion to invalidate MelJay? Make it make sense.
This should go without saying but Toks isn’t Mel herself. If she prefers Jvk, cool, that’s her personal preference! Stop bringing it up as ship war ammunition.
* “the point is everyone else on the show ships Jvk except for CL.” If the vast majority of people who work for Riot/Arcane wanted Jvk to be canon, do you really think CL single handedly stopped them? Plus Meljay needed to have support from the creative team to be canon and get all the romantic scenes they did.
**not saying it does invalidate Jvk, my point is, there’s a double standard. Which one is it? Do the opinions of people who work on a show carry more weight, or not?

your art style looks so familiar... were you iilikegaycookies on twitter a few years ago by any chance?
AMITY BLIGHTTTTTTTTTTTTT !!1!1!11!!
I finally decided to start drawing proper reference drawings for each era of the main cast in the golden heir au, uh it’s going to take me a while but I’m thinking of either drawing Gus or Willow next though not too sure who yet?
So yeah admittedly, Amity is one the second biggest changes I’ve done character design wise as she goes 0 to 100
Okay so design/story wise, in her first appearance she more or less stays the same? I gave her a bun instead of a ponytail to make her look more like Odalia in order to show how much control Odalia has over her and how she essentially wants Amity to become a mini me who perfectly follows societal and familial expectations…
Though after meeting Luz and slowly befriending her, Amity’s bun ends up eventually having loose strands that stray out. This is meant to sort of give the idea that she wants to break free of that control but is too afraid to do so because of the importance that her mother has put on being perfect.
I really liked the idea that after she breaks out of Odelia’s control and through the help of having Luz as an inspiration finally accepts that she can break the rules and live as freely and wild as she wants without caring about being judged which reflects in her completely wild but stylish hair as she’s doesn’t gaf about being perfect anymore :)
Season 3 Amity is just kinda an expansion of her getting a lil bit more freedom in how she expresses herself so there’s not much changes other than her getting longer and a bit more faded as well as a scar on her lip that happened mid season 2.
Post canon Amity is more or less the same as her og version other than some little differences like making her look a bit more like an adventurer.
