shouting into the void here I suspect, but does anyone know if there is a mod that makes recolours free? i basically never use it to update existing items, and more to shop around for things or obviously recolouring OMSPs, so it doesn’t really make sense as a mechanic for my game play that sims be dinged for that .

It took me the entire day to reinstall the game on my new computer, to make all the adjustements for it to work on Windows 11, find the right settings with the Graphic Rules Maker, and… my game loads twice faster from Windows to neighborhood view, then it loads at least TEN TIMES faster to enter a lot, everything runs so smoothly, even in very heavy CC lots and neighborhoods, with all settings at high, Origin downloading the Sims 4 at the same time, talking to my best friend on Discord, recording a video… like… IS THIS HEAVEN ?! I’m about to cry. Tears of joy of course. But still !

I think the next week (or maybe even the next month) will be about enjoying my game and nothing else. I’m so, so, so happy, you can’t even imagine !

OH MY GOD!!!!!!!

Quickly made an improved lot skirt shader with rough terrain, cliffs and shores, using some of the same techniques I used for making the hood terrain in Unity TS2.

This is just a rough quick experiment to see if it was possible and if it would look good in the first place. 

Making it actually usable and react properly to lighting requires a complete rewrite, but it confirms that it is indeed possible!

Menu Boards

Menu Boards

A pair of menu boards that permit Sims to buy certain foods; hungry Sims will autonomously purchase snacks.  There MUST be a counter (any style, edge or island) within three tiles of the menu board for it to operate. After the food dish is selected and paid for, it materialises on the counter and the Sim will take it.

New food items can be added via BCON and STR# entries - full details on the main web page.

Hey, this is a post for my friend Lux, who can't write one at the moment.

They're a housebound disabled trans person who urgently needs donations because their current rent costs more than their entire disability cheque. (This cheque is the maximum amount they can receive, and Toronto has a serious lack of accessible housing that prevents moving.)

They're coming off more than a year of homelessness, abuse & police violence that left them really messed up, and they've been unable to pay for accessible transport to get medical care. I've witnessed them go days without eating and suffer really badly with this situation. They have had housing for 6 months (and only have stable housing here until December) and are still without many basics. There's a serious need for ongoing donations, both to keep them alive now and to try and improve things.

Immediate funding needs:

cabs to medical appointments to replace broken glasses and other assistive devices and basic things they've needed for months, as well as stuff like food and hygiene items. This is their amazon wishlist with some of those items.

Ongoing funding needs:

hydro bill – high because of heat intolerance and MCAS (fans, air filters, extra laundry etc)

phone & internet

credit card bill (groceries, hygiene supplies & other ongoing costs)

Separate Top/Bottoms for non-Everyday Clothes Mod

This mod wouldn’t have been possible without BartekStu’s discovery on how to enable these buttons via debug mode in-game, so huge thanks to him!

This is an improved, hack version of his original discovery that works out of the box and without having to access debug mode or do any kind of manual procedure everytime.

Separates4All Mod:

There’s a few caveats: You NEED a No-CD version of The Sims 2 Mansion & Garden or Sims2RPC for this mod to work!

Sims2RPC Version:

Simply drop “Separates4All.asi” into your TSBin/mods folder.

Download: SFS / Dropbox

For non-Sims2RPC Users:

Run the “Separates4AllPatcher.exe” executable and locate your TSBin/Sims2EP9.exe when prompted. Make sure this is the No-CD version of the M&G executable, otherwise it won’t work.

these make me want to get my simming computer back in order more than anything! wow I am so inspired by these.

Thank you guys for your votes in the poll. Two versions it is. I tweaked the textures a bit more, but it’s still really far from perfect.

This is low-poly (100 faces / 200 vertices) and low-res (256px) nhood deco shrub. Located in the Flora category. Changes with seasons. 

Both versions of the shrub have the same winter texture that was borrowed from these bushes by Doowydoog (it just looks fitting on this mesh.) I removed shadow under the shrubs because I don’t like how it floats above the ground and clips on the sloped terrain.

You can have both versions at the same time, obviously.

Gallagher just graduated from university and is ready to take on the world! Unfortunately, he is too broke to buy a house. So, he has to either return to Cardend and live with his estranged parents, or move to the big city and find himself an apartment/roommates.

Permanent Quarter-Tile Placement On!

Just wanted to share a tip I know about how to make the Quarter Tile Placement Cheat on all the time so you just have to press Ctrl + F when you want to use it without having to type in a cheat each time.

Many of you may know that adding “setquartertileplacement on” to your userStartup.cheat doesn’t work, so I’m going to tell you where you can put it that does work, in case you didn’t already know!

So, head to Origin Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Fun with Pets\SP9\TSData\Res\Config and open up the file called “globalProps.xml” with a text editor, I recommend Notepad++. You should probably make a backup of this file first before making any changes, just in case.

In this file, scroll to the bottom and you should see a line that says:

<AnyBoolean key=“quarterTilePlacementEnabled” type=“0xcba908e1”>false</AnyBoolean>

Simply change the false to true and save the file and that’s it! The Quarter Tile Placement cheat will always be on without you having to type it in ever again! Simply toggle it on and off with Ctrl + F!

Hope that helps at least someone! I was telling my friend @morepopcorn​ about this trick and I couldn’t find the website where I initially read about how to do this anymore so she suggested I should make this post as it might not be common knowledge.

in case you haven't noticed, s*msnostalgia has gone full openly racist (which, it you've paid attention, has been a long time coming, been hinting at it for years) and is posting stuff about how democrats are bad because they're dividing the working class based on gendet and racial politics which is the most WILDLY embarassing thing I can imagine an "anarchist" saying. VERY YIKES. (Democrats are bad, anti racism is NOT WHY.) I am personally annoyed because they called me an ancap once because I said "hey maybe think about the way you're critiquing Black women celebrities and if it's antiblack" but clearly that was the point the whole time. they're living proof that sadly being gay does not make you a good or cool person.
