I totally get what you’re saying and I would love to watch some examples of this. I’d love to see how P21 interprets a combo versus a dancer at a different studio. Any particular dancers or combos that come to mind?
i always find it so intriguing how when molly teaches class at another studio and they all make completely different stylistic choices for the same combo. just goes to show how much their training affects how they pick up choreography and which accents and textures to add to it
yes it’s so interesting how different dancers interpret a combo!

Isn’t Kate Baldwin a teen? Or is there another Kate B? I’m pretty sure I heard Mika Takase is going to Orlando. I think she is definitely top 10 in Vegas if she goes there. But top 3 if she goes to Orlando. And this might be a hot take but I see Junie in top 20 for sure. Not sure about top 10 this year. Although I’d love to see it. Lastly, hoping for some redemption for Lucia this year. She can do it!
Tda Vegas jr top 13 prediction:
Lucia, Elsie, Kaia, Lilly, Malia, Bella C, Tatum, Mali, Emery, Alivia, Brooklyn W, Kate B, Kennedy M
Others who I also think could sneak in there: Isla, Mikayla, Tabitha N, Vera
severe lack of Junie here, but otherwise I could see this happening

“She uses her morning alarm as inspiration” is one of the funniest and most accurate statements I have heard in a long time. 😂
do u think kirsten russell wakes up on any given day and thinks hmm how can I choreograph the hardest, most random sequence of movements to confuse a room full of kids
she uses her morning alarm as inspiration 😍

What! Might we finally see some CSPAS dancers added to the studio switch spreadsheet?
In just saw that Stella Condies mom just started a dance studio in Utah. It appears that CSPAS might finally have some competition and it appears that they are going to lose one of their top dancers. I wonder if we are going to see other Utah dancers follow?
@nextleveldanceutah
wow i wonder! she’s using stella and lennyn in her advertising so i am assuming they will start training there

Is this real?
Dance One is going to rebrand itself . Jump and Nuvo will feed The Dance Awards.
24/7 and Radix will feed Radix National which will be renamed.
There are two Dance Awards Nationals at the moment but the Orlando one might get changed to the new Radix/24 7 nationals to avoid competing with Press Play. The San Diego Radix Nationals has been light in registration numbers. It’s just a tad lower than last year, not sure if the early date is impacting that.
The delay in getting the tour dates out is to update all the marketing materials. 24/7 and Radix know the dates and venues are they going to, just a short pause to work this part out.
so if this happened i would freak

I need more! I’m sitting on the edge of my seat. What happened next?????
But for real, this is great writing whoever you are.
“Molly Long: An Amercian Scandal” (Raunchiest Version)
The lights of Los Angeles burned brighter than ever, a mix of grit and glam that shimmered across the cracked pavement of Sunset Boulevard. It was the city of secrets, of dreams, of indulgence—and Molly Long thrived in the chaos. She stared out of the window of her sleek black car, watching the city pulse below, but her mind was elsewhere. It wasn’t the neon signs or the glittering skyline she was thinking about; it was him.
Danny Lawn. The one person who could make her heart race and her pulse spike in ways no one else ever had. The whole dance world thought he was gay. They adored him for it. That perfect blend of cocky smile and boyish charm, the muscles that flexed just right. He was their beloved “gay best friend”, an icon in the industry, a face they couldn’t get enough of. The chemistry between them? Electric, undeniable, but always a joke to everyone else.
Everyone else didn’t know the real story. They had no idea about the stolen glances, the late-night rendezvous, the way his lips felt when they pressed against hers in the dark corners of studios. No one knew about the desperate hunger in their secret moments, the way they made each other burn.
Tonight, it felt like the fire they’d been dancing around for months was finally going to erupt. And in the back of Molly’s mind, she couldn’t help but think maybe this is the night.
The Radix competition was in full swing, Project 21 was blowing everyone away as usual, but it was behind the scenes where the real magic—and the real scandal—was about to unfold.
Molly fixed her makeup, glancing at herself in the mirror. The world thought she was flawless, the queen of the dance world. But underneath the glam, she was a woman—flawed, hungry, and aching for him. She caught his gaze across the room. He was leaning against the wall, arms crossed, that damn smirk of his plastered across his face like he knew something no one else did. His eyes darkened when they met hers. They always did.
Molly's mind was clouded by a mix of excitement, and something else. She wasn't sober, not even close. The vodka was simmering inside of her, she was practically levitating, and she felt perfect. The air had a certain wisp, almost like it was snowing, but somehow it wasn't cold. There were certainly many keys and lines throughout the city of angels that night.
God, I need him, Molly thought. And she knew, deep down, he needed her too.
“Hey, Molls,” Danny’s voice cut through her thoughts, smooth and teasing, always with that edge that made her knees weak. He pushed off the wall and walked toward her, looking like he owned the place. He was always so sure of himself, so perfectly in control. But tonight? Tonight, she could see the shift in him. That look in his eyes. Something darker, something raw.
“Got a minute before my class,"he said, his tone low, dangerous. “How about a drink?”
She shot him a devilish grin. “A drink? What do you really want?"
His grin widened, and for a second, it was like the world stopped spinning. She grabbed his hand, pulling him with her through the dimly lit hallway that led to the backstage area. No one was around. Not a soul.
Molly slammed the door shut behind them, the sound of her heels echoing in the empty corridor. Without hesitation, she shoved Danny up against the wall, her hands skimming across his chest, feeling the heat of his skin through the fabric. Her breath hitched as she closed the distance between them, her lips teasing his, just barely brushing against his mouth before pulling back.
“You drive me fucking crazy,” she whispered, voice husky with need. “You have no idea how much I need you right now.”
Danny’s hands roamed, one finding her waist, the other cupping her jaw. He kissed her hard, his lips demanding, possessive, as if he was trying to suck her in. Molly’s body responded instantly, her heart pounding as she tangled her fingers in his hair, pulling him closer. She could taste him now, feel him pressed against her, and every inch of her body screamed for more.
But then, a sound. The unmistakable click of a camera. The flash of light that seared into her skin.
Molly froze, pulling away, eyes snapping open. Her heart stopped. It wasn’t possible.
“Shit,” Danny muttered under his breath, his hand still gripping her waist, refusing to let go.
And then, she saw her.
Shannon Mather. That blonde weave of hers, her sharp brown eyes gleaming with malicious glee. She was standing there, camera in hand, smiling like a snake who’d just found its prey.
“You two always were good at keeping secrets,” Shannon said, her voice dripping with satisfaction as she snapped more photos. Her camera clicked like a bomb going off, each flash a countdown to their destruction. “But secrets always get out, don’t they?”
The music outside of the backstage area continued to pulse, the competition going on like nothing had changed. But in that dim hallway, in that stolen moment, everything was about to change. The secret was out.
HELP WHAT IS THIS

I’m pretty sure Navy and River compete Pro-Am
The ballroom world seems quite different than the contemporary and jazz dance world but these CSPAS and Club dancers are pulling me in. I feel like I kind of need more of it!
yes they are killing it! it’s cool to see them branching out

I can’t disagree with any of these TDA predictions. The only one I am on the fence with is Stella. I’m not saying that her talent is t deserving of it. It most definitely is! I just think it would be hard to not give it to Savannah after she’s been in the top 3 every year she’s been a mini (assuming she makes top 3 this year).
I feel like the Radix Protégés is a crap shoot because I don’t think it has nearly as much to do with the dancers overall talent. They are looking for a certain type of dancer. I have yet to figure out what that certain type of dancer is. Whenever I feel like I have it figured out, they surprise me the following year with their choices. Last season I had dancers that I thought were easily top 6 that didn’t even make it to top 15 and some top six that i barely had in my top 30.
best dancer and radix protege predictions?
best dancer: lv and orl (in that order)
mini: stella and sienna
junior: lilly and anita
teen: taylor and kylee
senior: keira and sophie
radix is kind of difficult since i am unsure who is going, especially because of the new location and no tda overlap
i would love to hear your nationals predictions/thoughts/hot takes!

I agree that each nationals is looking for different qualities in a dancer. TDA doesn’t necessarily look for the same qualities that Radix is looking for or NYCDA is looking for. Some dancers that did great at Radix, didn’t do as well at TDA. Emily Polis is a great example. I don’t believe she made top 20 at TDA and then went on to win Radix. Others did great at TDA and didn’t do as well at Radix. So some might say TDA is harder for them while others might say it’s harder for them to do well at Radix. Same with other nationals like NYCDA. They also are looking for different qualities than you’ll find at other Nationals. So I guess it’s hard to say that one Nationals is harder than another because it can be different for each dancer. But to put all Nationals on an equal playing field is a bit ridiculous as well. To say that it’s just as hard to win DOY at Hollywood Vibe Nationals as it is to win BD at TDA is laughable.
You don't answer every question you get; you chose to answer that question knowing it was gonna cause some backlash. No studio at all is the overall best either. You also can't ever say something is the hardest because as you admitted it changes yearly. Every one matches a different person; that's the thing. Not every single competition is right for everyone. None are harder than the other; aside from each individual person.
no i agree with you. i don’t answer every question because it’s usually not something i feel comfortable answering or it’s rude to a dancer/parent/studio. yes it depends on the year and dancer. but overall, tda is one of the most dominant nationals

After what we saw last weekend from Lucia, I’d say she has a great shot. I’d also agree that Brooklyn W and Elsie are top contenders. They have been nothing short of amazing this season. Brooklyn has been getting better and better every competition. She will be a force by nationals. And Elsie is just getting started. I expect her to continue to grow throughout the season and peak at just the right time.
My very early TDA Vegas mini/junior preds
Mini Top 12 Stella Sav J Lexie Navy Aspen Kinley H Soleil Mabel Abbey Evie Lennon
Top 3 Stella Sav J Aspen or Navy
Junior Top 10 Malia Lilly Bella C Mali Elsie Tatum Lucia Emery Brooklyn W Junie
