Darry, with a ponyboy on his back: "Really? I'll get some later then." Darry gets out a bowl and starts pouring cereal

Two-bit: "make sure to get the- Woah, you know you got a wild pone sittin there on your back?"

Two-bit: "Is this normal?"

And he just keeps eating his cereal and reading the newspaper like there isn't a 14 year old on him

Darry had put each of the gang on cooking duty once a week to 'put your freeloading ass to use'. Johnny would be put on cooking duty every Wednesday, but he's absolute shit at it, and no one has the heart to tell him it sucks ass

Johhny: "I made chicken and bean casserole. I hope you like it"

Pony: "Oh thanks Johnny..it looks so..good?"

Soda: "Yeah Johnny! I like the crunch"

Johnny: "Crunch? There's nothing crunchy in it"

Steve: "It's..um..Sweet? Why is it sweet?"

Dally: "Sweet? Mine tastes salty as hell"

Darry: "uh Johnny, we dont have chicken in the fridge. Or beans"

Johnny: "Well shoot, then what did I put in there?"

Two-bit, spitting something out: "is that a tooth..?"

It's been a year since Windrixville, and he's still skin and bones. And he's on his college's track team, so whatever weight he gains seems to slip off him in a matter of days.

He's scrolling on his phone and sees all his friends' posts, and he'd be lying if he said they weren't attractive. He isn't gay or anything, but damn do his friends look good. They look tuff and cool, unlike him 💔

He doesn't have a model-like face like Soda. And he ain't strong and muscular like Darry. And he sure as hell ain't as attractive as both of them. So what good qualities does he have? Running fast?

With a sigh he turns his phone off and keeps rotting in bed.

Oh nothing, just thinking about Darry slowly starving himself as he eats less and less. Darry waking up in the hospital as a result of constantly giving his brothers larger portions and saying he ate at work (he hadn't eaten at all). Just Darry giving all the food to Soda and Pony because they're 'growing boys' and 'need it more than he does'. Just thinking of Darry getting Skinnier and Weaker, unable to work as fast as he used to as he gets faint just sitting out in the sun, and he just stops getting hungry.

Not him fainting on a roof and waking up in a hospital with the doctor giving him a pamphlet about 'eating disorders' and shit

When ponyboy's sick, he'll leave a bunch of used tissues wherever he goes. He'll leave it on the counter, on the couch, and especially on the nightstand and his bed. It annoys Darry a lot, but definitely ticks Soda off a lot more. Soda will come home to Pony curled up on their bed surrounded by a halo of used tissues, and it is nasty as fuck.

He will literally let out the biggest "EWWWWWW", wrinkle his nose, and run to Darry.

Pony smiles whenever he hears Soda overdramatize his disgust 'cause Soda doesn't actually really care about it, and Darry won't do anything since he's sick
