After several meetings with the Kahuna’s grandson, his ice is starting to melt. He’s more relaxed with the stranger now acquaintance now. The other boy is younger but oh he’s a good few centimetres taller. That few centimetres irk the older more than it should. More milk to drink later.

Hau talks a lot about malasada but truth be told, Cyrus hasn’t actually tasted one. Ever. In his stay here in Melemele, he hasn’t been to the malasada store in Hau’oli city. He passes the storefront every now and then. But this is the first time he’s ever entered it.

The door slides open and the sweet scent wafting in the air makes his mouth waters almost immediately. He can see the appeal in malasada now. No wonder Hau’s like that, the boy on constant sugar rush.

He lets Hau do the menu perusing, he trusts the boy’s taste. Either that or he’s still too distracted by the scent of fresh malasada to even look at the menu. 

They’re finally seated at their booth and when the lady walks in with a basket full of malasada, somehow he’s not surprised at the amount. He doesn’t expect anything less with Hau, honestly. 

He stares while the other boy already digging into the basket like he hasn’t eaten in days. That good, huh. 

Before Cyrus could take one for himself, he finds something soft and sweet presses against his mouth. Hau just shoved a malasada at him. The young grins and Cyrus takes a bite to stifle his spreading smile.
