Yeah, I'm so sick of hearing people say that "Someone's not a real fan because they haven't played the games." Just let people enjoy what they want to...

I didn't think this needed to be said but you don't need to play and own the games to be a fan of the franchise. You can understand the characters and the lore without playing the games yourself. Some people have disabilities that prevent them from playing the games, some people get violently motion sick and cannot play them without taking medication, and others cannot afford to spend $60+ on a game or hundreds of dollars on the game and a new game console or device to play it on. And all of those are perfectly valid reasons for not playing the game.

You might have the privilege of being able to play and own the games, but that does not give you the right to dictate who is and isn't a "real fan" based on how many games they've played to the end or owned. Watching playthroughs of the games is valid. Only watching the cutscene compilations and then reading the wiki pages or the game guides is valid. Whether you all realize it or not, being able to afford these games and owning them is a privilege. Not everyone has the money or the physical ability to play these games.
