I don’t generally ever make non art posts but I couldn’t keep this idea to myself and I’m curious. I was wondering, what would’ve happened to Chance’s rabbit after they died?

I’m imagining that after killing Chance, iTrapped went back to Chance’s place (for other reasons) and while he was there, let Spade out of his hutch and left the front door open, or maybe took him and dropped him off in a field somewhere. Like it’s his one attempt at an apology to Chance for what he’d done to them, in his own fucked up, not really caring type of way. It’s a last attempt at showing a bit of respect to them, but ends up being disrespect. Not caring deeply about how Spade is affected, when he sees him he feels inclined to let him out, but he can’t do the right thing and make sure he’s cared for. Like maybe in the same way, he kinda cared about Chance, but couldn’t do the right thing for him either. How he thinks about it, I think, is that he knows Chance would’ve wanted Spade to live, but iTrapped feels no obligation to Chance, so he doesn’t feel like he needs to actually go the extra mile to make sure he survives. Setting him free is the least he could do.

iTrapped never cared about Spade, I don’t think. I feel like he wouldn’t be the type of person who has very much love for animals in general. But something compels him to show Spade mercy, even after he’d already done the worst (killing Chance) Maybe he thinks it’s the right thing to do, but he doesn’t have it in him to care what happens to the rabbit, he just gives him an opportunity to live, a “fighting chance”, which is something Chance had not been given.

The unfortunate truth is that Spade probably won’t make it if he’s set loose in a city, or left alone in the wild. But iTrapped thinks that it’s enough, or it’s all he’s willing to do.
