Some more ghoul headcanons:
Stronger ghouls require more food, and weaker ghouls require less. (Ikuma in the novels is pretty weak and says himself he has a small appetite. Versus Rize The Binge-Eater who is incredibly strong, a Washuu, and a natural kakuja. I'm also taking her "I'm not even close to being full!" line in Ch 46.5 at face value.)
Metal (iron) smells really good to ghouls, as it smells like blood
The fresher the meat, the better it tastes. Meat from a fresh kill would taste a lot better than meat from a scavenged corpse. And eating a human alive would be the most pleasurable, which brings a lot of temptation and "excuses" for cruelty.
Ghouls in canon often talk about some meat not tasting good, mostly from humans middle-aged and older. But given that Kaneki says that eating human meat as a ghoul is unlike anything you can eat as a human, even "bad tasting" human meat is still good, if you were to compare it directly to human food. No humans ever taste bad to a ghoul, it would only ever be "not as good". But ghouls don't know this, having nothing else to compare it to, so they simply use the word "bad".
Ghoul stomachs can kill any sort of bacteria or parasite. They have absolutely no risk and can safely eat old rotting meat. (It just won’t taste as good.)
Ghouls can recover entirely from any degree of starvation, as long as they are simply given food. There is no "refeeding syndrome" like in humans. Their bodies will catch up and fully recover with zero consequences.

Touka as a trans girl has always felt right to me
Idk something about feeling like you were born wrong and that you're 'disgusting' the way you are
She's often drawn with apples a symbol for desire(her desire to be human) her desire to be a girl cough who said that
Something about that links with being trans to me
Feeling like you're disguising yourself to the world like you're deceiving people pretending to be human 'pretending' to be a girl
This may be a (obviously an opinionated reason and me being bitter this isn't my main reason for it) reason why I took her character in re so hard because it was such a shell shock obviously I KNEW it wasn't canon but I was still :( but this part is just me being whiney and butthurt
Her forcing herself to eat yorikos food both to not waste her efforts and to feel human is just so similar to my experiences with self sabotage knowing I'm actively hurting my body trying to be more align with my desired gender
This was just a Cody head canon ramble maybe this will help some of u understand why I preach about this sm

i hate when people confuse shuu’s obsession and limerence over kaneki as him being a pervert or super horny.
Like i don’t doubt shuu whacked off to kaneki regularly, but he’s not just being horny???? He’s blatantly obsessive and limerent. it’s why i compare his obsession to my experience with having bpd and ‘favourite person’.
to say he’s just a horny perv ignores the layers to his character. even pre:re, shuu wasn’t giving perv vibes imo. he always had a hyperfixative tunnel-vision - he was obsessive over a particular meal to the point where it would not go away until he’d eaten it. kaneki literally haunted him - that’s literally what limerence is???
he probably is a bit randy about kaneki, but when you minimise his character to just ‘horny’ or down bad - you miss the mark so much.

Peace be upon you. I am Juliet Al-Habash. I want to help my family and relatives who have been sick for nine months. We left our home and sought refuge in the south, but they removed the leaflets on us and we were forced to flee several times. Now we have nothing left. We are now sleeping in a tent on one of the streets. My sister also has a head injury and needs daily treatment. We are also struggling to get clean water and little food. I hope you will help my family and donate and honor this link, even if it is a little, as it makes a big difference to us. Thank you very much, my dear ones.

You'll never know how strong you are until strength is your only option."
From the heart of Gaza, these words become more true than ever. I am Bilal Abed Rabou, and I stand before you as a survivor of five wars, an academic student at Al-Azhar University and a software developer from the besieged Gaza Strip. I witnessed the devastating effects of these conditions firsthand
.

We were a family, living in peace, love and warmth. But everything changed when conflict and despair swept through our lives. Living in Gaza means confronting ongoing conflict, struggling against poverty and the lack of basic necessities to live. Life is very difficult, and even the simplest tasks seem impossible. Yet, despite all the chaos and pain, we remained grounded by the warmth of our love and the strength of our spirits.

Even six months ago, everything changed. Our once home turned into a mess and everything we cherished. Since then, we have been lost, clinging to a world of uncertainty and despair. We left our badly damaged home with only a few things. Since then, our lives have been threatened
with every passing minute.

But now, there is no longer a reason to stay in this place full of suffering, where we are deprived of even the most basic and important rights, education, security and peace.
Our hearts hurt because of all this injustice. We were willing to endure anything to keep our family together and provide comfort and care for our father in his time of need.
With each passing day, our despair grows and our burdens grow heavier. We need your help to break the cycle of suffering, rebuild our shattered dreams, pave the way to a better future, and reunite with our family. Your support is not just a lifeline; Rather, it is a beacon of hope in our darkest moments.
Here you will find our whole story

And here is the direct donation's link

hello everyone! i have been asked to share and boost a campaign raising money for the shehab family's evacuation from gaza. this is a campaign vetted by @/el-shab-hussein, you can check the verification at this link. their goal is to reach €80.000 and they are currently only at €43.171, so please donate if you can!! you may see a smaller goal of €50.000 in older posts: that is because the campaign was initially meant to cover only 8 family members, but it was updated to include other 4 relatives that were also in need of evacuation. apart from the children's parents, there are a total of 8 children and one elderly woman in the family. some of the children are very young and one is disabled. to evacuate 12 people together is not an easy feat and they will need all the support possible. please give them whatever help you can!
