this is gonna sound super online bc he's not real, but i've loved bucky for more than 10 years and seeing them write him like they did in thunderbolts breaks my heart... he was in character for a bit and then...?? not seeing him actively empathize with bob the way yelena did, not seeing him have a strong reaction about the human experiments, the congressman storyline lasting a total of 5 minutes, the valentina shit at the end of the film, which i assume will have a good explanation and he has Some sort of plan which doesn't involve going against sam, but is just insanely stupid as it is right now... what have you done to my boy do you even know him at all...

nothing will piss me off more than some sort of dumbass forced rivalry between bucky and sam. none of that shit is welcome i'm sorry. there's nothing for them to be rivals about. bucky has stood by sam through everything, even when sam decided not to take on the cap mantle, bucky was still pestering his ass about it all the time because he BELIEVED in him and knew he was the one who should take it. sam is his found family. a civil war 2.0 plot would be so fucking stupid and would completely shit on the bond they've built. i hope i read this post when doomsday comes out and think "thank fuck i was wrong"

yah its been years but no matter what ending steve rogers "deserved" he would have NEVER stayed back in time and retired. because while he could retire from captain america, he could never retire from being steve rogers. he would have never left sam wilson (his right hand man) high and dry with the shield -- he would have been there to help with the transition, especially in the face of a corrupt government. he would have never bucky (a person he promised to be with until they died) who had self-worth issues and decades of trauma alone in the future. the real steve rogers could never sit back and relax while bad things happened all around him. he could never trade the picket line for a picket fence.
