This is crazy. I am post op about 7 weeks, post car accident 4 weeks and my kidneys were crap. I have never seen this picture out of context. I took it, posted it and moved on. Endo Awareness Month Day 11 Hysterectomy does NOT cure or treat endometriosis. Endometriosis is outside of the uterus so removing it won't help. However a hysterectomy does cure Adenomyosis. Adeno is endometriosis growing in the muscle of the uterus. Various published studies have shown that 12% of patients with Adenomyosis also have been diagnosed with Endometriosis in other sites outside the uterus, within the pelvis. Are you aware hysterectomy does NOT treat endometriosis? Endometriosis is a disease outside of the uterus. The only time relief is found with a hysterectomy is if the women have adenomyosis or other uterine disease. If the uterus is healthy, it is not causing your pain. March is Endometriosis Awareness Day 2 Just 1 week ago I had my 21st surgery. Endo can only be diagnosed via surgery. Surgery is currently the best treatment option. Which leads to multiple surgeries in attempt to get relief. There are two surgical treatments for endo lesions. The most common but less effective is ablation. Ablation lasers the top endo lesions without removing the root of the problem. Excision is the least common style used. However, it's the most effective method. Even with excision surgery, recurrence is still common, as there is no cure. The goal with excision is to put the endo into remission for as long as possible. Roughly 150 surgeons are qualified to use this method. This disease effects 176 million women. We need more qualified surgeons.
