lol, imagine SQH with a baby, and he's not fond of babies of course, but it's a baby, you're supposed to be kind to them, they really can't help whatever they do, and look! This one is even smiling at him! Aiya, what a smart boy! He knows his daddy!
Anyway, SQH is dressed down, and holding the baby, yapping at them, telling them the secrets of the world and the bits of mythology that he never got to publish, explaining accounting-
And Mobei Jun is watching and trying to understand.
Is that Qinghua's baby? Who had a baby with Qinghua? When? Does Qinghua like babies? He didn't know Qinghua liked babies.
Well, he can't have too many babies, because who will look after Mobei Jun's future heirs then? And Qinghua will clearly have to look after them. He's already prepped and knows as much as all the demonic masters. Qinghua might as well keep his own children in the North too. They will be a bit useless like Qinghua, but clearly they will have his sense and they'd make excellent play mates for his own kids. And if they're staying here, Mobei Jun can train them so that they're not as weak as Qinghua. That would be a good way to reward Qinghua's loyalty.
Besides, they have enough rooms.

Phoenix Song 28
The trip was not comfortable. It was cold, keeping up the continuous flight, and required a sharp focus and control over his qi to make sure that the right amount was used. He felt himself growing sharper and angrier the closer they got to Cang Qiong. At least the imposter was just as uncomfortable. Being held prisoner for a trip meant to last two more days upright on a sword had to be hurting the imposter far more than it did them. He lacked training after all.
The group arrived at the mountain and started to head in. Disciples looked at them, clearly unaware of how to respond to what they were seeing. Knowledge of the imposter had been kept a secret after all. They found themselves looking to the two peak lords for some kind of instruction on what to do as the ice spirit followed along behind them.
"Get the sect leader," Shen Xue barked. "I want to finish this idiocy now."
Shen Yuan stumbled off the sword, his legs trembling from standing for days on end. He quickly straightened himself, wanting to look somewhat composed before the sect leader. Liu Qingge nodded along with Shen Xue’s words. “Fetch him.” He ordered, his voice sharp.
A couple of the disciples ran off towards the diplomacy peak. Shen Xue marched forward determined to pass off this burden as soon as possible. It felt too long before Yue Qingyuan appeared. That placid smile was on his face, as always, if with a faint mark of worry. "Liu Qingge. Shen Xue. Shen Qingqiu. I am pleased you've all safely returned."
"The half demon escaped," Shen Xue reported sharply. "The imposter bought him time to flee."
Yue Qingyuan paused clearly thrown off. "Half demon?"
“Luo Binghe.” Liu Qingge supplied. He shot the imposter a glare. “He’s a freshly awakened heavenly demon.” Shen Yuan swallowed thickly. He physically couldn't say anything in his defense. How could he defend himself? He can only hug the sect leader’s thigh and hope to be spared. Going from sucking up to Binghe to sucking up to the sect.
Yue Qingyuan frowned. "I see." That was a problem. Unfortunately the boy had escaped. Fortunately they would not need to deal with him unless he drew their attention. Most of the heavenly demons had been content enough in the demon realms. Perhaps the half demon would find his way there. If not, Yue Qingyuan had fought a heavenly demon before. He tried to not think of the price he'd paid for that.
"The imposter will make a decent enough puppet for the Immortal Alliance Conference, but he cannot take the job long term. He hasn't been doing his job at all," Shen Xue said.
"Shen Qingqiu?" Yue Qingyuan questioned the man.
Liu Qingge reached over and ripped off the silencing talisman, letting him speak. Shen Yuan cleared his throat. “I…cannot be Shen Qingqiu.” He replied, his voice rough from not speaking for days. “I know only a little about cultivation and I’ve been relying on the disciples to complete the peak’s work. I never wanted to be here, I was forced into this position.” Don’t hurt him, please.
"You enjoyed the position. Not so certain now it's time to pay up, hm?" Shen Xue growled.
Yue Qingyuan smiled. "We will look into getting a proper head for Qing Jing." Perhaps a transfer from his own peak?
Shen Yuan shot a sharp glare Shen Xue’s way. “You know very well I would have died if I stopped acting as Shen Qingqiu. I couldn’t stop being you.”
"But you enjoyed the comforts. People listening to and trusting you. Liu Qingge's care," Shen Xue pressed.
“What, would you rather I suffer the entire time I’m here? Of course I enjoyed spending time here. That doesn’t mean I wasn’t in danger.” He narrowed his eyes at him. What was he up to now?
"I wouldn't say that," Shen Xue. "I would simply say that it shouldn't be surprising that your choices caught up to you. Not everything you did as Shen Qingqiu was enforced by your master."
“I did the best I could. I was thrown into this world without knowing how any of its rules worked!” He protested. “I just knew I would end up dead if I kept abusing children like you were and I would end up dead if I tried to avoid doing what the system asked.”
"Tch." Shen Xue shook his head. "Either you don't know what you're doing, or you do. You have to pick one. Are your predictions for the future perfect and you know what you were doing, or are they flawed and you are struggling in a world you don't know? You cannot have both!" Shen Xue was looking forward to absolutely crushing his belief that this world was false.
“I never said they were perfect! I know things have changed around!” He protested. “Things have changed because of my actions, because you can’t hurt Binghe anymore or kill Liu Qingge. That doesn’t erase your original story from existence. That’s still a possible future!”
"You are still acting like you are the only one whose actions matter," Shen Xue snapped. "You have never had that control, and you need to accept that!"
“I know I don’t have any control! The only time I could choose what I wanted to do was when I ran away. Even then I was well aware I was on borrowed time. My whole time here has been spent running from death and just hoping I don’t piss off the countless things that can kill me!” He wants to be in control. Desperately. He didn’t want to die. He didn’t want to end up here with the goal of fixing things. He was perfectly content to roast Proud Immortal Demon Way from behind a screen and pretend he had control of his real life too.
"Shen Qing-ah. What is your name?" Yue Qingyuan asked gently. Shen Xue leaned back with satisfaction on his face drinking in the pain the imposter was expressing.
Shen Yuan faltered as Yue Qingyuan spoke once more. “Shen Yuan.” He replied stiffly. What he wouldn’t give to punch that look directly off Shen Xue’s face. Of course the villain would bask in his suffering.
"Shen Yuan," Yue Qingyuan said gently. "I apologize for our imposition, but we do need you to play as Shen Qingqiu for the public until we find a suitable replacement." Shen Xue glared at Yue Qingyuan. Their sect leader truly was a useless man. He never would confront anyone.
“And what’s after that? What happening to me after you don’t need me to act like a peak lord anymore?” Shen Yuan shot an identical glare Yue Qingyuan’s way.
"You knowingly harbored a dangerous demon. You will repay us for that," Shen Xue said sharply.
"It will depend on your conduct during this time," Yue Qingyuan said gently. "As you said, you did not choose to lie to us about who you are." Shen Xue whipped to stare at Yue Qingyuan in disbelief. What was he saying? He couldn't-he couldn't just be absolving him of this!
“Binghe isn’t dangerous! At least he wasn’t until you two attacked him.” He protested. “He’s never been a threat.” Not in this universe at least. He hopes that’s true.
"Something chose him to raise as a demon king. Clearly he is extremely destructive," Shen Xue pointed out. "Otherwise he would not have been targeted."
“He only became destructive because of your constant abuse and being pushed into the abyss.” He glared at Shen Xue. “Shen Qingqiu was the one that ruined his innocence.”
"I am a convenient excuse for the actions of others, aren't I?" Shen Xue sneered.
Yue Qingyuan stepped forward. "I understand the problem, but unfortunately this is not something we can solve. We will prepare in case the heavenly demon surfaces again. Until then we will focus on the Immortal Alliance Conference and finding a new peak lord." Shen Xue scoffed and left.
Liu Qingge trailed after Shen Xue, not bothering to wait for his sect leader to dismiss him. Shen Yuan fell silent and turned to look at Yue Qingyuan. “Should I return to the peak?” He asked, unsure of what to do. He can’t exactly do peak work.
Yue Qingyuan gave a soft sad smile to Shen Yuan. "You will stay with me for tonight at least. We will work on arranging something better in the morning."
Oh this is going to be miserable. His eyes flicked away and he nodded. “Of course.” He agreed. “I’ll stay with you.”
He inclined his head and lead Shen Yuan up to his home.
>>>
Shen Xue was relieved to see Liu Qingge's home as they reached Bai Zhan peak. It was the safest location on the mountain, and he was eager to get inside.
Liu Qingge immediately gravitated towards his bed, kicking off his shoes and peeling off his outer robes as he went. He at least had the foresight to fold his robes before promptly collapsing onto his bed. Flying for days straight wiped him out.
Shen Xue immediately burst into a rant about the uselessness of the sect leader. He had several of them, and was in a fantastic mood to use one of his most cutting ones. Was Liu Qingge still awake enough to hear him? It didn't matter. When he finally wound down he looked at Liu Qingge. "At least you haven't been a disappointment yet." He transformed into a phoenix and settled on one of the bed posts to rest.
Liu Qingge blinked at his last words, finally becoming lucid enough to comprehend what he said. Hah. He’s a good companion. He reached out and stroked his feathers before settling down once more.

So like, Qinghua has pretty open access to Mobei-Jun.
(Love that one post about sqh manhandling mbj and mbj just being all limp and obedient.)
But i was thinking, who else would Mbj trust as a taste tester? Im sure he has them, but thats still his fokd going through a lot of people's hands. So who else can he trust but the hamster? Also, SQH is always busy and forgets to eat. So win win, Sqh has to take a few bites of food and Mbj knows its safe to eat.
Years of this later, they're in like some important buisness style meeting. Qinghua is pacing around giving his report. There are demon lords all around. Mobei-Jun refuses to eat despite everyone else doing so. Qinghua is not thinking about anything except explaining the benefits of trade routes where you don't eat the traders. So as he walks by he casually steals a bite from MBJ's bowl. Then keeps walking. The nobels are HORRIFIED staring in shock while Mbj is pleased and immediately starts to eat.

Great idea: A nature documentary about the most scientifically accurate, realistic, and lovingly rendered dinosaurs, but it's narrated by just some guy who knows nothing about dinosaurs and is also really fucking high. Like just going
"Holy shit look at this guy. Fuck look at that fella. It's like a parrot with fingers. It could probably open a coke can. Look at him go."
Dinosaur: KAAA! :V
[moved to tears] "Holy shit you're so right little dude. No idea what you're saying but you're so right."

If I were to end up in a story I had raged and ranted about as the antagonist it would be Dream SMP and as soon as I had the OOC lock removed I would be going to live in a hermit as far away from the madness as possible. Would love to hang out with Technoblade and Philza, but really just getting away from the rest of the server would be a huge win.

Yue Qingyuan having every bone in his body broken and all his tendons snapped, crawling around the caves wretchedly clawing around for an exit because he needs to save Xiao Jiu. Yue Qingyuan being reformed but never truly feeling like his body is himself again. His mind screams at him that he died in those caves. That nothing should have survived what he did. His soul, now trapped in his sword, detached from himself and making him dissociate often.
Yue Qingyuan stark raving mad while standing in the ashes of the Qiu estate. Combing through debris until his hands are black with char. Searching tirelessly without sleep for days until his Shidi Mu Qingfang physically drags him from the rubble.
Yue Qingyuan, numbly letting himself become head disciple. Nothing is real anymore.
Yue Qingyuan finding Shen Qingqiu. It is the first time he has felt alive since the caves. Suddenly, it’s like he can breathe again. Like there’s a part of him still alive underneath the madness and disassociation.
Yue Qingyuan, feeling a jolt of satisfaction at every insult levied his way. Feeling alive each time Xiao Jiu waspishly destroys his character. Maybe he’s not happy. But happiness doesn’t crawl in his soul and live there the way this feeling does. It’s all encompassing want. It’s grief. It’s desire. He lives only in those fleeting moments where Xiao Jiu attacks him, and the rest of his life is a waiting period where he disappears and is dead in the cave again.
Yue Qingyuan, selfishly wishing Xiao Jiu would take his sword. Selfishly wishing he would draw it. Even if it uses up some life force, he wants his soul to be in Xiao Jiu’s pretty hands. He loves him so, so much.
There are long periods of stasis. Where Yue Qingyuan, unbeknownst to anyone but Mu Qingfang, simply lays in bed like a broken doll. His body is basically a husk anyways, with his sword containing so much of his soul. It’s all he can do to keep himself stitched together.

Looping back to the pizza chart, I propose Silver get a category that just says "Yes" while Espio (who was excluded) is the one who likes Hawaiian.
yeah, Silver is the friend group garbage disposal, if the food is edible he will eat it, even if it might not be edible he'll still try to eat it

at a conference I attended recently, a researcher pointed to the difficulty of finding material in archives because so much depends on the metadata and the terminology used to describe things changes over time. "it would be so helpful," the researcher said, "if I typed 'lesbian' into the library of congress database, it would also show me results that were categorised in the 50s, when the materials were interpreted as 'intimate female friendships'"
which is what tag wrangles at Archive Of Our Own do incredibly effectively: searching for "omegaverse" also leads to "alpha/beta/omega dynamics" and "alternate universe: a/b/o" and so on. but ao3 achieves this frankly incredible categorisation and indexing system by the power of countless volunteers putting in hours and hours of unpaid and unthanked free time, and it's completely understandable that most archives do not have that kind of infrastructure, but also how incredible that a fan-run website has better searchability, classification, and accessibility than the library of congress
