i know it's classic fandom memory but I do find it kind of funny how much of the da4 crit has rose coloured glasses for dai. Like most of what's bad about da4 is in how incredibly similar it is to dai. Same problems but more. It doesn't lack depth and nuance *unlike dai* lmao. I think people just had dai for so long that they got to build a better deeper version in their heads.

As the years go by, it becomes more difficult for Merrill to remember their faces.

Still, she tries to. She remembers Pol’s nervous smile when he'd finally learned how to knot a halyard; the distant look in Paivel's eyes when a story started getting away from him; how Marethari would stare down her nose at Merrill when she'd failed to meet the expectations that had been set for her.

She sometimes forgets Halevune's face, too, even when he's stood right in front of her. His face is gaunt, dark shadows carved into his face by the fire between them. His hair is brittle, white, like winter's grass, she thinks it would fray if she rubbed it between her fingers. When he smiles (if he smiles) some semblance of her old friend is reborn, and when he doesn't, Merrill looks to Kieran.

30 Days of Dorian

What is it? 

30 Days of Dorian is the second celebratory prompt event for anyone who loves Dorian Pavus from Dragon Age! You can check out the blog for examples of posts from the previous event. The prompts are only suggestions; we will reblog any Dorian content that meets the rules and tags #30daysofdorian or mentions @30daysofdorian. You can even reblog your old posts, so long as you tag the blog!

Who can participate?

Fan content creators or consumers! On May 1st, 2023, creators can begin posting Dorian-centric works. You can use the provided prompts or come up with your own. Content that will be reblogged includes fanfiction, artwork, moodboards, gifsets, screenshots, edits, playlists, ask memes, fic or art recommendations, etc. This list is not exclusive, but just to give you an idea of content to create for the event!

The blog will reblog or queue up posts (depending on amount of response) that tag #30daysofdorian or mentions @30daysofdorian until May 31st (you get a bonus day)! :D
