I don't know how many followers of this blog also watch The Goldbergs, being that that is 80s nostalgia and the majority of Bleach fandom on tumblr is in their 20s, but I've met two other Bleach fans 30+ on tumblr... The episode where Barry ties to sculpt Laney's likeness gave me an idea. The picture on Hisana's shrine wouldn't be visible in the Living World by a lot of people. Byakuya puts a drawing there... Also, whenever I do something with this verse, Aizen's goals that he eventually uses Orihime for allow me to unfridge Hisana (he'd been trying to make an unkillable army spell for a few decades), so be prepared for cool disabled Hisana. Masaki's also been unfridged--Grand Fisher killed her body, she passed on. Of course, it takes many years for everyone to find everyone. I fully intend a montage to The Moody Blues' "I Know You're Out There Somewhere."

Well, I still have nothing digitised properly, but my friends I discuss this with have called it a saga. For now, I just want to know why Pesche and Dondochakka are so surprised Szayel eats his fracciones. Revolted, sure, surprised? Being a Hollow means you HAVE TO HAVE eaten other Hollows at some point, they had to have at some point, too. Again, revolted he eats his own followers, sure. Surprised? That's a bit weird. Also, my Arrancar are going to call themselves amongst themselves in proper Spanish because even though we see the Japanese area of Soul Society, the lineup of the dimensions is also messed up in Hueco Mundo, and while the area involved is a bit too big to be the equivalent of a single Carribean nation, I just might add some Kreyol speakers and say it's the entire island of Hispaniola. Yammy or Ulqiorra: "We are Arrancar" (beat) Chad or Ichigo: "How can you BE a verb?" Yammy (shrugs): "Ask Lord Aizen." (Aizen bought a Spanish dictionary and thought he knew everything, kinda like the morons who "dress up [their] English with exotic Japanese" that real Japanese are up to and including beaten for speaking here and think they can become fluent by pouring everything through Babelfish and its clones or learning three words but not what they mean and using them ten different wrong ways. And there's an aspect of the power imbalance here, too--canonically, Aizen invaded the Spanish speaking region and enslaved its people, even if the bad Spanish was unintentional by the author and not an example with power imbalance because there is none between Japan and any nation in the America's except Anglophone USA who has power over Japan, not the other way around) (It's also a habit of mine to say Kreyol for Hatian Creole because on the West Coast, a lot of people assume Creole=only Louisiana. I did used to be able to say basic stuff to neighbours and co-workers in it when I lived on the East Coast, but Hatian Americans close to me usually surpassed me in English. I can't really remember it and will have to get help on it) Yes, an island. Oh boy, do I have plans for the time water is shown, and it ties the verse to another unrelated show's abandoned plot arc. Also, if others want to help me bring this to fruition, be prepared for historically based Soul Society Nations and politics! --Kamiyama

Kisuke’s Pantry
Background/Reasoning:
My dad and granparents survived Internment/WWII and financial depressions, both in the 30s, and returning to a bombed-to-rubble Japan. When people go through something that causes food shortages on that level, it’s really common to hoard food even if you don’t have the money--ask anyone who fled the Soviet Union/Iron Curtain. I grew up with them, lost them both to direct or indirect consequences of natural disaster, was homeless on the streets briefly after that, and have had a few financial crises in my life that ended up in ketchup sandwich/hot dog soup diet. I don’t exactly hoard, but if my food stores are very low, I do get a bit anxious. I’ve only lived in SoCal three years, and have already pulled two or three non-perishable expired food from my pantry. Such a thing does happen when you live somewhere for a while. I moved apartments in the same building, but took all my pantry stores and didn’t sort them. KSH: Kisuke owns that house (else, he couldn’t modify it) has probably been there for most of his time in the human world. Everyone knows where he is, and his secret training basement and the other modifications would need a long time to make. At the very least, it’s implied he was in Japan during both World Wars. He left in 1901 from Soul Society, no mention of him moving from somewhere else to that spot is ever made. For KSH’s purposes, he and his lived in a tenement (not like NYC’s; Japanese tenements are what Seireitei’s dorms are styled after. If you want to see a then-contemporary depiction of a tenement, check out the 1947 movie Record of a Tenant Gentleman (Nagaya Sinsiroku) until they saved up enough to buy a house in 1911, the one they have now. His business will be changed to be a bakery/noodle shop which, save the Kurosakis, is really most frequented by senior citizens (and as such, has noon/midday rushes, but is dead at night and closes early, letting Kisuke do what he wants in those hours, be it raising Ururu and Jinta, spending time with his partners, fighting hollows, or training the heroes. There was once an episode where Kisuke eats something questionable and regrets it for the rest of the evening. While his food he sells is fine, I kept that he would eat questionable things. Living in one place for 90 years by the beginning of the story, his pantry...does include some forgotten-about decomposed cans. Some things are still intact, but would be best thrown away. However, he’s not one to waste food. Have an illustration.

I didn’t grow up here myself, so for non-U.S., immigrant, and young readers, this is an explanation. I created this specific image as a joke for an acquaintance who can’t read Japanese, as far as I know, and the picture of the food is, in fact, pulled from this article. http://gbnfgroceries.blogspot.com/2014/01/from-misc-foods-aisle-generic-brands.html So, you see, those chips might be out of date (image description: Kisuke looking proud of himself, standing hands-on-hips in a dark, decrepit study next to a table. A bookshelf on the back has been poorly photoshopped to have a digital television sitting on the shelf. Also poorly ‘shopped in is a 2013 calendar on the wall and two boxes of Generic Brand branding free potato chips in ‘70s packaging, pre-dating store brand foods. Below, a mock closed-caption reads “look what I found! Snack time!”)

Um, anon, at least one non-Jewish person is trying to write this very type of experience happily-- the fan project (that may never get made because I’m Asian/mixed--look at every American version of anything Japanese not Power Rangers) that this blog is for....the husband of the canon main character and one of the all-time fan favourites has a whole arc about this. Eventually, gets his Bar Mitzvah at 54, his husband is a Buddhist because write what you know, and there’s a whole focused scene devoted to debunking the trope “Judaism in the way of marriage with goy.” If you love someone, that’s a part of them. (I knew someone whose husband left her over her not renouncing the Judaism he knew about from the bloody get-go, and I stopped talking to him because that’s disgusting) Some of their kids (the Buddhist is one of about ten characters that became trans, they’re both men, some kids are adopted) are also active in Jewish faith (adopted or not irrelevant to their ability to choose) I met the mod of this blog fact checking for when they visit the lair of G-d to keep it respectful (Canon is about the living meeting the afterlife) So, I’m not Jewish myself, but I thought you might appreciate that. Especially since with me being Asian, it might not get made, you should at least know others are thinking about this, an experience you’re having right now, and positively. Especially with all that’s happening right now. Sorry I had to do it as a reblog, but you’re anon, so I can’t nab your name off this blog and PM you.

This blog is for a fan work I’m writing where a trans man and his (cis/gay and not a giant transphobe!) partner actually have a few kids (and he previously has a daughter by his best friend, and his husband has a son he rescued from a parent who was trying to kill him for being (non-verbal, great handwriting) autistic. Basically, most of tumblr would love it (it’s meant to be filmed, so I need people) except I’m Asian and mixed, so the West (I’m in CA) is too racist to touch it. (It’s a fan project of a Japanese cartoon, but Western fandoms for Asian works are some of the most hostile toward Asian people--who no-one sees as human). In fact, people are probably too racist to ever reblog this because I just pointed out anti-Asian racism. ~25 years of experience in the US. Prove me wrong.
ANYWAY, I remembered that prompt yesterday. Now that I see this post, here was my similar problem but different angle version:
(whatever-craigslist’s-name-was-at-the-time advert [2005]) For sale. Baby shoes, never worn. (DON’T WORRY, BABY IS OKAY!!!)
(inside ad), Okay, so this is our first baby together and we have a LOT of friends and family, and we were gifted twenty pairs of infant shoes. No
newborn
needs twenty pairs of shoes. We each came with a now-teenager, and plenty of belongings. Please enjoy a pair.
We also have two spare CD players, an abundance of winter clothes--boys’, girls’, and two sets of men’s, brought from Japan, that people who ski could look good in at Big Bear, and a racecar bed our other son no longer wants. We really need space for the baby to crawl around soon. (please buy, we’re practically drowning in really great stuff!) No, really, he’s fine. His name is Kazui. Contact Ichigo or Grimmjow at 1-323-555-5555 (please just call, don’t use the E-mail) NO SALES SOLICITOR CALLS--WE HAVE TWO TEENAGERS! TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THEM AND WE’LL GROUND THEM AND PUT YOU UNDER GROUND!!
WE ARE BOTH TRAINED IN COMBAT!!! Have a great day ^_^ (End)
It handles every character of that franchise, which you can now easily guess/ ask Goggle if you’re not familiar with this blog or those names, so them and their kids is only 1 plotline out of a veritable /sea/ of plotlines (I flesh out a lot of everyone’s everything, and the franchise came with probably around 100 or more characters), but there’s my (fandom-specific) version of that prompt. (Note both leave everything the other said--they’re on the same wavelength)
“Oh man, I can’t believe this photo I took of my new baby won a contest! But the prize is a whole truck of baby shoes! My healthy and happy baby will never wear them all before outgrowing their size! I might as well sell most of these baby shoes that have never been worn.”

So, upon becoming a stable soul, Grimmjow goes vegetarian because he’s so traumatised by his years in Hueco Mundo.
However, he also uses the fact he once needed to cannibalise to survive as a way to scare of bigots. As a Jewish gay man with a part-Asian/part-Black trans husband, Latina and Native sisters, etc., it’s pretty helpful. He’ll occasionally make coping jokes, but that’s more the provenance of Nel (who still eats meat). Yesterday, I was at the drugstore, and I was thinking about what the former Arrancar might say to cope with 2017, since for filming convienience, the setting moves to LA in 2004. Unbidden, the next thought was “If you rendered all the fat out of Trump, all you’d be left with is a lump of coal.” (Mind you, I’m 225 LB, but that’s because of being bedridden with no access to healthy food after an injury. And it’s coming off because I went back to normal portion sizes [they started getting bigger in the 80s, look at your dinner plate, then go look at old family photos at the dinner table, yours or on the Web] Trump is obviously just plain old gluttony unlike us poor folk--just like the way he handles his sham business. Besides, you refused to listen to us trans guys about the small dick jokes. Also, I went hungry when I first immigrated and my growth plates sealed off, so my hands are tiny. Deal with it)

Issin and Ichigo (Trans himself) are both like this with their trans kids in KSH. You all are just waiting for a non-Asian to do this, aren’t you?
She has a theme okay, don’t make fun of her!

KSH is the fan film tumblr wants, but you all hate Asians, so you’re waiting for a non-Asian to do it, you’ll get involved then. You should stop enjoying anything with Asian roots.
I just feel like if you write a straight character, you should have a really solid reason in the story for that character to be straight. Otherwise it just feels cheap like pandering yknow?

http://www.answers.com/mobile/Q/What_episode_of_MASH_did_Hawkeye_remember_getting_pushed_out_of_a_boat_when_he_was_a_kid Just saw this episode of M*A*S*H. This show ended its run when I was still in Japan, but I'm able to catch up with it on Me-TV. I'd really like to make a episode around the traumas of both Grimmjow (shot by his mother's boyfriend, Xmas Eve '79) and Nel (starved to death after being kicked out for being bi, winter '86) (For those seeing this only because of M*A*S*H tag, this is from Bleach, which is about ghosts, and in this fan film, they return to the living world) Probably a Christmas episode. Oh, shit, this can be the one where Coyote decides to make them his kids. Christmas 2002 episode plot confirmed. I'm gonna say Nel is the one repressing. That's how Nel deals with shit--avoiding it and pretending to be happy. That's why she always acts so wacky. Grimmjow is the other type of traumatised person--he's always got one eye back there, on the past. Reminder I'm still looking for people to do this with. Must be in CA--preferably SoCal. --Kamiyama

Promised I could demonstrate that poly parenting is family friendly! Doesn't really cover the part that it's not 100% everyone with everyone--e.g. Grimmjow is gay and therefore isn't involved with (NB transfeminine) Keigo (she keeps her name because she wants to, being not 100% female, and because it's easier on writing--Grimmjow and sort of Ulquiorra revert to their birth names, Ralph and Floyd respectively, but this is easier for you to identify with no visuals) Test drive of the concept of Ulquiorra as one of Grimmjow and Ichigo's partners and how to write his lack of affect as someone with affect (blunted through depression, but there). I think I like it. Yasuko, who I introduced in the prior post, is here, but circumventing spoilers for the end of KSH-version Fullbring arc, shortly before Blood War arc. Both will be fully rewritten. Possible dysphoria warning for other trans guys--there is an explicitly pregnant transgender man in here. Someone needs to step up and start normalising it. --Kamiyama

Test drive for the concept of Ichigo and Chad's daughter, b.1998. Being a teen parent is hard, but what's ruinous is parental abandonment, and Issin is the kind of parent who, as a doctor, learns how to administer HRT when his son comes out as a son. Contrasted with Ryuken's parenting style that makes Uryu want to live separate.

Changes to Pre-Series Events for KSH
So, I switched some stuff around with two of the trans men, filled in Chad's backstory and family, developed an interesting thing between Issin and Ryuken, and filled in some neighbours of Ichigo, as well as cleaned up some loose ends about reorganising the Siba/Isida/Kurosaki houses.
1. Jugo is actually pretty grunge and also doesn’t want kids. He actually doesn't even like having hair longer than Kurt Cobain. Cobain is also the most concise way to explain his preferred style of dress. This meshes better with his attitude in canon and what I added--that he escaped his transphobic abusive family to live with Buzz and his grandparents, who were fairly accepting, and was quite happy before Bach killed them to get to Buzz and especially Jugo. They lived in rural Venezuela instead of Germany (?) but Jugo did come from Germany.
2. Ichigo wants and has a few. This allows Kazui to exist, meshes better with him and his attitudes towards children and family in canon.
3. Ichigo now potentially has a 2 y.o. with Chad at the story’s outset. This also lets me talk about “don’t abandon your goddamn children even if they aren’t doing exactly what you want them to do.” It ends up providing an interesting contrast to Ryuken and Uryu’s relationship and Ryuken’s inflexibility/Uryu not wanting to call him dad and sneaking around to use his powers. For consistency’s sake, Rukia would recognise Captain Kurosaki (canon plothole), so it’s been long planned Issin comes clean off the bat.
4. It’s probably been mentioned before that Ryuken and Masaki are siblings in this. Souken had a grandfather Keita Isida, who had a descendant in Japan born in ‘39, Kaien, who helped them flee to Japan in the height of Apartheid in the '60s. Despite being ¼ Japanese, Souken was designated Black, and “Mrs Isida” (not that they could actually marry) was white from the start and pretty racist. It’s possible to marry someone you’re racist against. I’m part Asian. Trust me. I’ve had it done to me and was born of a relationship that didn’t end in marriage between a mixed guy and a racist.
5. Ichigo and Chad are still just non-romantic best friends and will always be.
6. I came up with this because of kids I knew who ended up in medical emergencies and abusive situations after they ended up pregnant PLUS California is a rare exception but most places demand sterility to recognise your gender. So this is both an issue with parenting and an issue that needs discussion for trans people lumped in to one. The latter, Ichigo has more as an adult and is addressed on its own onscreen separate from the issue of abandoning your children because we think “controlling your children,” controlling another human being, is a good thing for some reason. I feel like the point here is it won’t always end up optimal, but your child’s life is their own and not yours. And you committed the rest of yours to caring for them and loving them no matter what when you decided to keep/adopt them. And trying to “control them” isn’t gonna do either of you much good. Sure, Uryu is valedictorian and never gets in school fights and Ichigo is a teen dad who’s always in fights, but who trusts their dad that they can talk to them?
7. The “totally not an orphanage” (they have a name like “Orphan Welfare Facility,” but they’re totally orphanages) that Chad stayed at until the siblings that ran it (missionaries from Kenya, Sister Mary and Reverend Luke Gisemba, not white supremacist assholes) just gave him a apartment near them because the bullying was so bad are actually aware of Chad’s daughter’s lineage and are totally down with Ichigo’s transness. They also create a chain going back to a priest in Mexico City to ensure Yasuko can have children's books in both her parents' languages, since she was born in '98, before buying on the Web really took off. This meshes well with what I have them do to Kamakura First International High School later on.
8. Ichigo and Chad’s daughter is Yasuko Kurosaki.
9. Chad’s original last name was Soto. It was changed because some of the bullying involved other kids locking him out because “soto” is not a name, but the word “outside” in Japanese. His parents enlisted in the US military to gain US citizenship, hence Okinawa. They were shipped off to the front lines of the Gulf War, dying in February '91. Chad stayed with his granpa and he has an Aunt Laura who lives in Yuracuero.
10. Chizuru’s out about being a lesbian and gets close to Ichigo. She actually lives close to the clinic, and met Ichigo before Kamakura Int'l High. She has an aunt from Siberia (she’s a result of the Russo-Japanese war) and the aunts meet when Yasuko is born and get along very well despite the language barrier. They’re both hard-partying gals. They may end up like-liking Kenpachi a/o Retu.
11. Another neighbour is Mrs. Satou. No relationship to Tousirou’s grandma Satou Noriko. It’s an incredibly common name. An expy of a same name character from the TV Asahi dramedy Sinigami-kun, she’s a widow at age 90 at the outset of the series. But still spends time with her husband who is a spirit, her best friend, a Vietnamese immigrant, who is also a spirit, accepts Ichigo because “we all change! I wasn’t always a wrinkled anarchist!” Likes SMAP, Dragon Ash, and Usher, and is chill with all people and forms of (after)life, as long as they’re not bigots. Probably would just think Yoruichi’s turning into a cat is neat if she finds out.
12. About Kaien. He dies in '75, and is a normal soldier in Squad 13. Miyako is the VC. He still treats Rukia like a normal human being and Miyako is a graceful and efficient VC that deserves and commands respect, so nothing is really lost there.

So this post, I think, is just about an intergenerational household and having two generations who answer to "Daddy." https://f-ingfightmeidareyou.tumblr.com/post/160963473484/you-halfway-through-dinner-w-parents-when-she But picture POLY same-gender parents in a multigenerational household. Issin, Ichigo, Grimmjow/Ralph, his adopted dad, Coyote, all of any of their other (male, obviously) partners, every one of them is "Dad" to someone. Six men reach for the yams.

The Kurosakis at Disney--KSH
Any of the little kids (Issin's grandkids) would obviously enjoy it, but since KSH moves to LA, I had some thoughts about Issin dragging the whole family (yes, there's a Toukyou Disneyland, but SoCal's culture is built on TV and movies and they advertise discount passes for residents like ten times an hour out here. It's actually pretty common here to just go there for the day) Ichigo: "Do they just not care about shoving their workers into heatstroke-inducing mascot suits!?" Grimmjow: "This is an atrocious monument to capitalism; why would they?" Karin: "This is a candy coated Hell is what it is." Tousirou: "I'd actually RATHER be in the office!" Momo: *pokes Yuzu and blushes because the cute Princess Tiana woman waved at them* Yuzu: *waves back boldly and without blushing* Issin, Yuzu: *singing some Disney movie song off-key at the top of their lungs* Issin: *also wearing a Mickey Mouse hat*

(A selection box for it seems a International School in Ho Chih Min City (aka Saigon, Capital of Vietnam) seems to have bugged out and presents options for the gender field such as "Visit on March 19" and "Gender" sorry the image summary sucks. So doesmy memory. End summary)
Okay, but I could see this happening in Kamakura First International High School (which is fictional and I changed it from the original fictional one in Bleach anyway. Kamakura is a real place, though, unlike Karakura, a fictional part of Tokyo) even if the arc happened at a point in time with the web and knowledge of it as it is now. And the school's not known for embracing queer students. (The public trans discussion in Japan was always in the background and came back front during Ichigo's teen years. Homophobia is a colonial symptom, Japan kicked out the first wave)
sorry sjws there are only 9 (Nine) genders
