This article examines the interest rate a Canadian crown corporation has seen due to the proposed Trans mountain oil pipeline expansion. In a month, $20 million was recorded by the crown corporation immediately this present government bought the pipeline and other assets for $4.5 billion from Texas energy company Kinder Morgan.  In case oil spills, the government also set aside the sum of $500 million as security deposit. However, Finance Canada does not regard the interest as a loss because another crown corporation is responsible for managing the loans and the expenses is moving between different governments organizations. Again, during the third quarter, Canada Development Investment Corporation (CDEV), the Crown Corporation that owns and operates the pipeline recorded an interest rate of $21.27 million. Apparently, permission is not granted to continue the project due to the unsure expenses and other issues to be addressed.

Marie Johnson highlights the usefulness of ‘digital human’ (e-human) in accessing government services in Australia. ‘Digital human’ was created because of functional illiteracy across the Australia population and the population of other countries. ‘Digital human’ is very vital to people who rarely understand complex information that comes from any public sector like bank, health centers, and those who cannot read, and are not comfortable relating their situation to people. It helps them access information in a familiar and friendly way, having face to face interaction with humans, speaking same language as well. In this digital transformation world, Australia became the first to have digital human!

The article explains how the bank of Canada manages its balance sheet by purchasing government-backed mortgage bonds so as to increase the value of their assets. This idea was concluded by federal crown corporation in order for the central bank located in Ottawa to cancel the use of bank notes. This process will also enable the bank of Canada not to be fully involved in the participation of primary Canadian government bond. Given that the federal crown corporation has an issuance of $30 billion in 2018, there will be little amount of purchase from Canada Mortgage Bonds.

John Kingston, explains the ongoing situation amongst Canada post workers which could result to strike in the entire nation soonest. Canada post being a government owned company but controlled by Crown Corporation, has been on negotiation with the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) for the past one year before the expiration of its contract last Saturday. One of the recorded disputes is E-commerce, due to the fact that Canada post workers are working more than they should, delivering more parcels as often because of the high amount of purchases by consumers. Currently, CUPW has rejected the offer made to them by Canada post.  The government being the only solution to this whole issue has kept silent.

Dave Croft, discusses the issues of insufficient employees in Yukon, Canada. A situation that seems very rare in the community of Yukon. Many job vacancies available, but there is no qualified candidate for it because of the remoteness of the community. According to Statistics Canada, Yukon has the highest job vacancy with a percentage of 5.1%. This lack of employees makes the current workers to work overtime just to meet customer’s needs. Incentives of various kinds have been offered to attract new employees and bonuses are given to any staff member who recommends an employee that is willing to stay and work with them.
