Update 2! Final Fantasy XV Challenge Menu Screencaps, Missing Items, & Other Details
Tumblr media
WOI is back with a bit more information about the Final Fantasy XV Stadia version, including the new Crazy Challenge content and missing items. What the heck is the Final Fantasy XV Stadia version? What was in our first update? Read about the Stadia version and the initial update.
The picture above is the new loading screen after initially launching the game, before the “A Final Fantasy for Fans and First-Timers.” It’s a modified version of the Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary event description for Final Fantasy XV, with the last paragraph referencing the 100 years of peace in Insomnia:
To the east, there stood Lucis—a sanctified kingdom, blessed with the divine Crystal and sacred ring. To the west, there rose Niflheim—an imperial war-machine driven by superior technology and the arcane might of magitek. For long, the two have been at war.
More than a century has passed since Lucis raised a magical wall to stanch the empire’s march toward the Crown City of Insomnia. In time, those behind the Wall came to know peace and leisure, having all but forgotten the horrors of war.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The [Challenge] option in the [Title Menu] brings up a list of eight options under “Crazy Challenge.”
The first two are [Challenge Rally (Short)] and [Challenge Rally (Long)]. The player must “Head for the finish line while passing checkpoints in the Regalia Type-D.” As stated in our initial Stadia post, these seem to be more Regalia Type-D races like those included in the Royal Pack.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The third and fourth options are [Magna-Flight (Short)] and [Magna-Flight (Long)]. The player must “Collect as many items as you can in the Regalia Type-F and head to the marked destination.” Notice, Square Enix erroneously did not stylize “Type-F” as they do the Type-D (”TYPE-D”).
Based on the images and what we’ve seen previously, the player must use the gravity well to collect “junk” while dodging enemies and haul it to a marked location without crashing or destroying the Regalia.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The fifth and sixth options are [Endless MA (Easy)] and [Endless MA (Hard)]. “MA” is the shortened version of Magitek Armor. The player must “Take down as many of the endless spawning enemies as possible.”
Endless MA is similar to the old Ranked Timed Quests where you were scored on how many enemies you could kill in a few minutes and the Daily Quest in Comrades. Based on the images and trailer footage, the player will be equipped with the Magitek Exosuit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Finally, the seventh and eight options are [Expert Duel (Easy)] and [Expert Duel (Hard)]. The player must “Defeat the enemies at Level 1.
Based on the images, Expert Duels are similar to Bonus (INGEM) Quests from Comrades, but the player is at Level 1. In the Easy version, Noctis is equipped with Ragnarok and the Royal Raiment. In the Hard version, Noctis is equipped with the Kingly Raiment. The Expert Duels are, at the very least, against Deathgaze, include a time limit, and possibly status effects cast on Noctis.
Tumblr media
Finally, the Stadia version does come with the bonus items that were included with the Royal Edition, such as the Platinum Leviathan skin, Ragnarok, and the Choco-Mog Tee.
However, the Stadia version does not come with the Master Assassin’s Robes for Noctis that were included in the final content update for consoles and the Windows Edition and the King’s Knight Tee that was offered as DLC for consoles.
Tumblr media
Furthermore, it seems all crossover content is missing. For example, the Terra Battle and King’s Knight Sticker Set body decals are missing.
We’re now suspicious if all crossover content is missing, including the FFXIV and Terra Wars quests, Tomb Raider collaboration items and photobombs, and music from other franchises.
Once again, we’ll keep everyone posted as we receive more information, especially about details about the crossovers and Crazy Challenge.

Penguin Random House to Publish the English Version of FFXV: The Dawn of the Future Novel. Release Date Still TBA.
Tumblr media
Square Enix announced that Penguin Random House will publish the English version of the Dawn of the Future.
No release date or box set has been announced.
Full press release
Penguin Random House Publisher Services (PRHPS) today announced a multi-year sales and distribution agreement with Square Enix, Inc. (SEA, a US-based subsidiary of Square Enix Holdings Co., Ltd.) to introduce a new line of English-language manga, novels, and art books, beginning in Fall 2019, across all sales channels worldwide.
The Japanese multimedia entertainment company is best known internationally for their gaming properties, which include FINAL FANTASY®, TOMB RAIDER®, DRAGON QUEST® and NieR:Automata® titles on game consoles and mobile platforms, but in Japan, Square Enix is also a renowned book and magazine publisher. The company has previously licensed their manga properties (including hits like FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST®, SOUL EATER® and Black Butler®) to US-based publishers, but the new program marks their entry into the English-language market directly, publishing graphic novels and other book products under SQUARE ENIX for the first time through all major book sales channels.
The new imprint’s launch will be anchored by FINAL FANTASY XV: The Dawn of the Future, a novel containing a new chapter in the FINAL FANTASY XV universe; the manga Hi Score Girl, which was adapted into a hit anime on Netflix; A Man and His Cat (Japanese title: Oji-sama to Neko), the pet-themed comedy that was the bestselling new manga in Japan during the first half of 2018; and the complete edition of the global mega-hit manga Soul Eater.
“We are excited to have this opportunity to introduce our wide variety of books with the help of PRHPS to our new readers,” said Katsuyoshi Matsuura, Executive Officer and Vice President of Publication Business Unit, Square Enix Co., Ltd. Masaaki Shimizu, General Manager and Publisher of Book Publishing Division, SEA who is responsible of the new program, said, “We’re so excited that we now have the full support from PRHPS for achieving our goals to introduce more English translated books and expand our reach to new audiences.”
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Square Enix for their venture into the worldwide, English-speaking market,” added Jeff Abraham, President, Penguin Random House Publisher Services. “We see significant opportunity for their exciting and original program to succeed here.”

I started this drawing like a month ago and I just kept running into one IRL thing or another that kept derailing my progress (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻ This was my first completely ‘lineless’ digital painting after having experimented with the previous portraits I posted; I was hoping to spend more time playing around with colors, but after working on it off-and-on for so long I really just wanted to put the kibosh on it so I could move on to something else. I also didn’t want to keep @metapoodle waiting any longer, since it was her beautiful Noir!Ignis mod that this drawing was based on and I had been slipping her unfinished previews for so long that I feared she would think I had abandoned the illustration entirely. Many thanks are owed to her for all her modding contributions to the FFXV community!

No art exists in a vacuum, so I gotta give major credit to @juvenile-reactor and her Noct doodle for being the original inspiration behind this drawing. All of her art is incredible, but her Noct piece resonated with me so much that I had to stop what I was doing just so I could try my hand in her style!

“Knights had no meaning in this game. It wasn't a game for knights.”

I was inspired by a tweet showing Ignis with a FaceApp beard so I did this.  I only have the “hipster” beard because all the other beard filters are premium 😂  I gave Ignis a beard in his noir attire with the hair down and this was the result.
@blinding-awesomeness had an excellent suggestion–read The Big Sleep and just imagine Philip Marlowe looking like this. ❤😳

Beware of Scams in the FFXV Community
Tumblr media
Greetings, Glaives!
We hope all of you are enjoying the start of the holiday season. While we may have received some sad news regarding the DLC a few weeks ago, the FFXIV collaboration and Comrades update is just three weeks away.
To make sure you keep enjoying the holidays, we wish to bring to your attention a few scams that are sadly plaguing the FFXV community this year. The /r/FFXV staff does our best to protect you, but sometimes things slip through the cracks. While we're not going to name names, here are a few scams we've recently seen in the community to watch out for:
Online Shopping Scams
Online shopping scams involve scammers pretending to be legitimate online sellers, either with a fake website, a fake ad on a genuine site, or over direct messaging or email. While many online sellers are legitimate, unfortunately, scammers can use the anonymous nature of the internet to rip off unsuspecting shoppers.
Protect Yourself
If the advertised price of a good or service looks too good to be true, it probably is. If you have any doubts, don't go ahead with the deal.
Check if the website or social media page has a refund or returns policy, and that their policies sound fair. The better online shopping and auction sites have detailed complaint or dispute handling processes in case something goes wrong.
When using retail websites, find out exactly who you are dealing with.
When making online payments, only pay for items using a secure payment service—look for a URL starting with ‘https’ and a closed padlock symbol, or a payment provider such as PayPal. Think twice before using virtual currencies such as bitcoin—they do not have the same protections as other transaction methods so you can’t get your money back once you send it.
Avoid any arrangement with a stranger that asks for up-front payment via money order, wire transfer, international funds transfer, pre-loaded card, electronic currency like Bitcoin, or selecting "Sending to a friend" on Paypal. It is rare to recover money sent this way as your forfeit buyer protection. Never send money or give credit card or online account details to anyone you don’t know or trust.
Phishing Scams
Phishing scams are attempts by scammers to trick you into giving out personal information such as your bank account numbers, passwords, and credit card numbers.
Protect Yourself
Check that the text address matches the address that appears when you hover over a link.
Do not click on any links or open attachments claiming to be from your bank or another trusted organization and asking you to update or verify your details.
Do an internet search using the names or exact wording of the email or message to check for any references to a scam – many scams can be identified this way.
Look for the secure symbol. Secure websites can be identified by the use of 'https:' rather than 'http:' at the start of the internet address, or a closed padlock or unbroken key icon at the bottom right corner of your browser window. Legitimate websites that ask you to enter confidential information are generally encrypted to protect your details.
Never provide your personal, credit card or online account details if you receive a call claiming to be from your bank or any other organization. Instead, ask for their name and contact number and make an independent check with the organization in question before calling back.
Crowdfunding Scams
Crowdsourced funding opportunities via Kickstarter, Patreon, and GoFundMe have removed many structural roadblocks for people to access capital quickly and conveniently. But they’ve also lowered the barrier to entry for many very old scams.
Protect Yourself
Approach crowdfunding campaigns directly to donate or offer support.
Check the organizer's name and look them up. Check the website address to make sure it’s the same as what you searched for.
Never send money or give personal information, credit card details, or online account details to anyone you don’t know or trust.
Don't feel pressured or feel guilty or selfish if you don't want to donate.
If you are approached by a crowdfunder or someone spreading the campaign, inquire more information such as names, experience with fundraising, how the proceeds will be used, and how the campaign will be fullfilled. If you have any doubts about who they are and what they do, or they become defensive or cannot answer your questions, do not pay.
Avoid any arrangement with a stranger that asks for up-front payment via money order, wire transfer, international funds transfer, pre-loaded card, electronic currency like Bitcoin, or selecting "Sending to a friend" on Paypal. It is rare to recover money sent this way. Never send money or give credit card or online account details to anyone you don’t know or trust.
DO NOT DONATE MONEY TO FINAL FANTASY XV OR VERSUS XIII CROWDFUNDING CAMPAIGNS!
For a fundraising campaign to succeed in reviving production in Final Fantasy XV or Versus XIII, a deal with must be secured with Square Enix in advance. That deal will state that if the funds can be raised, then production will proceed. No proof of a deal has been secured in all the FFXV crowdfunding campaigns we've seen. If you donate, you have little authority over what the organizer of the campaign does with your money, including refunding you.
Be careful out there, Glaives. For hearth and home! (。・ω・)ゞ
